The author has a good grasp of the English language (thank God for that 😣) which in turn made reading easier for me. If I'm reading a story full of grammatical errors, I wouldn't be able to enjoy the story because I'll be just correcting everything inside my head. 😅 The narratives and dialogues were written fairly well. The transition from each chapters is also good. I can't say much about the world background since it's only the start. The story has enough mystery at the beginning to keep you wanting to read further. The characters, my current fave is Chen Anyue. Yes, the girl. LOL. I find Yuan Xuelan a bit annoying. The way he just flung insults towards Liu Sumeng one after another could get really tiring. I know he's currently only 16 and prone to throwing tantrums. But still. Liu Sumeng on the other hand is like a doormat. He just accepts everything. I know that's his personality. But that could get worrisome in the long run if he doesn't change. I do hope that after the village arc, he'd do somethung about his engagement to Anyue. I like the girl. If he doesn't want to marry her again, then it's better to just end the engagement early. And a little suggestion; try to put on your author's note the meaning of some Chinese words. Because not all readers might be familiar with them. Like Shijie for example. Or even Ge. Overall, this was a pleasant read. Good job and all the best to the writer! 😊🖒
