got to learn to skip things, makes a lot of crap that's out there a whole lot better, I learned that a long time ago with tv shows and movies, and now even books if its in a lame part that you don't like. Stick with what you like even if its crap skip to the parts you like :)

How is the reader meant to know to skip a chapter what happens if something happens within for example mc murders someone and covers it up. Later the reader would be confused since they skipped it because they have 0 interest of reading about fan fiction ***

I can promise you those 18+ pages are not hiding anything other than bedroom activities. As for skipping regular pages or not and getting confused, I suppose that's what separates the veteran readers from the casuals.

Every writer has their own system your system is not used globally A global type would be Weaknesses of vampires (slight variations) Destroying brains of zombies The RPG / virtual reality classes (different names same principle) Weapons used If you want the reader to know then at the very start leave a statement/ have it as writer notes so they don't make assumptions
