I'm just going to drop a review from novel updates by someone One of those standard xuanhuans poorly disguised as something else, in this case as Sci-fi, and full of plot/worldbuilding holes because of it. The premise is overly convoluted, bear with me: MC is from a tech world with Mechas and interstelar spaceships. There was a VR game that took ppl to a cultivation world being invaded by demons, but it's not a game but another reality. After the cultivation world is destroyed it was the MC world's turn. Still following? It's not over yet. Anyways, ppl in the Mecha world logged into the cultivation world with a system to help in the battle agaisnt demons. In the end they lost, but the MC got back in time with a War God System which is basically a cheat, because... bah, who knows.... 'god did it', probably. For some reason, only he can access the 'game' right now even though it wasn't 'launched' and go to and from these two realities every day. So, Cultivator vs Mechas vs Demons while the time traveler MC pings between realities every few days. Ok, a little too much at the beginning but sounds cool. There's also Professionalist (another word for cultivators) in the Mecha world, but let's ignore that for now. Eventually you'll see technology sucks and Mechas are being destroyed by a bow and arrow or a bone spear, all because 'cultivation energy'. Guns don't exist and don't work just because, missiles also don't exist even when intergalatic travel already does and in summary, the author doesn't know sh*t about modern warfare or technology, nor he developed his own fantasy version properly. I was raging when a few chapter after a Mecha, with the greatest technology available, a more than 1 ton hunk of hardened steel, was cleaved in half by a bone spear, but the MC get's a thin golden armor that takes several hits of demons without breaking. Why? Because 'cultivation energy'. Nitpicking or bad worldbuilding, I'll let you decide. But know that the author doesn't bother to create a special alloy or element that would explain why thick plates of steel are tofu and the thin golden armor is virtually indestructible. He just says 'because cultivators'. In the end, it's all about the MC in the cultivator world eating pills, killing stuff and leveling up. Kill a monster and gain xp/soul points, get that super cool manual to be strong, go to sect competitions, sword enlighment (even though there's a system) etc. Then he comes to his reality with all his cool powers and slap faces, save people and collect beauties. Yes, there are plenty of cocky young masters showing hate for no reason only to be bit*h slapped and come back with family reinforcements. As for the Professionalists in the Mecha world, they are more powerful than Mechas and aircrafts as well, why? Not explained either, except that they are 'noob cultivators' that don't understand 'energy' and while some ppl are born with it, most aren't. This doesn't deserve the current high ratings at all. I'd give this a 3 instead of 1 otherwise, since even though is generic with awful worldbuilding and power systems, the pacing is good and there's always something happening at all times. The Author manages to create good ******* and characters but usually blows it up with the plot/worldbuilding holes. I liked most of the female character so far as well, except for the first Su something that is bland, but insteresting female characters in these kind of novels was a good surprise, even though they all love the MC for plot reasons. Anyways, I wrote this for those who, like me, got into this novel thinking it would be an original idea. It's not. This is generic cultivation overpowering technology and demons. The cultivators powers are vast and reality bending, to the point that it becomes anything the author wants at that particular time. There is no proper 'power system' even though cultivation power is used to solve most problems, which broke the novel apart for me. That and the usual young masters, harem, plot armor cliches, of course. Let me just add that the reason I mention Mechas so much is because the Author spent the first dozen chapters foreshadowing it: The MC was a god level engineer that would revolutionze the current tech of the world, going to a Mecha related school, working at a Mecha factory, etc. He even built a super Mecha for love interest #1 and gained infinite money because of it. Then suddenly the Author must've thought "I can't write about Mechas... f*ck it, they all tr*sh now. Any move with 'energy' can blow them up!" and it became all about cultivation. There was too much preparation for suddenly not mentioning them at all.

Technology play a big part hare if you read carefully just in latter chapter. And let me tell you this is a 2000+ chapter novel. And I don't think it's even close to it's ending. There is still a big world left to explore. And technology play a big role in this novel.

This one of the reviews for this novel on novel updates """ This novel is the definition of "Exhausting", the plot and the MCs challenges can be described as a constant rain of feces that starts at chapter 1 and doesn't stop at any moment, the MC its always running out of time and there's never time to breathe and understand what just happened, but it sure it was epic, it was the most amazing even unbelievable that has ever been happened in history until 5 minutes from now when something even more amazing happens. There's never time sit down and talk of something its not related to a world ending calamity, something about cultivation or a peerless beauty that's overwhelmingly powerful/in danger that's completely in love with the MC, all these world ending calamities are always present and they just keep piling on and on, every problem solved is replaced with another 2 or 3, im surprised the MC isn't out of breath at every scene seeing he's constantly putting out fires or on the way to put out a fire, this isn't a story summary but its a good example of my experience with the novel "THIS GUY WILL TOTALLY KICK HIS A$S!!!" No he won't, he dies and the next power scrub is going to kick his ass Oh wait, no, the world is ending again, gotta make time for that But just now another peerless beauty is in danger, he needs to run there RIGHT NOW! Sh*t, the world clans are after his as$, he has to think of something on the way D*mn, on the way to meet his rival AND save the world AND the girl AND fend off the cabal that controls the world government HE WAS ATTACKED BY A 100 BILLION DEMONS AND PEOPLE ARE GOING CRAZY! ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE! CTHULHU CAME OUT OF HIDING AND ITS ROAMING THE OCEANS! THE AI MIGHT GO ROGUE! THE NEIGHBOUR COUNTRY'S RELIGION SET A BOUNTY ON HIS HEAD! AN UBER GOD FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION WANTS HIM TO SAVE HIM FROM ANOTHER EVEN MORE POWERFUL GIGA UBER GOD! AND THE SYSTEM THAT'S BEEN HELPING HIM SET A NEW QUEST THAT HE HAS CLEAR IN 5 MINUTES OR EVERYONE THAT HAS EVER EXISTED WILL F*CKING DIE! Oh, never mind, he solved everything OH NO! 500 TRILLION OTHER WORLD ENDING PROBLEMS CAME UP JUST NOW" At some point I got tired and stopped caring, its tiring to see all this problems with so little catharsis """

If someone wants an actual short review that has nothing to do with Qidian ****ery here you go. This novel is fantastic. It’s easily in the top 3 of webnovels I have ever read. It’s setting is greatly fleshed out and interesting. Unlike other authors who refuse to fully imagine what the future would look like or those who just leave it as “basically nothing changed except haha realistic VR”, this novel goes all out in its setting. Set in the far future, humans have gone very far, but not unimaginably far (a 'problem' most people have with ScFi). They successfully survived the singularity (though its not mentioned as such) as the super intelligent AI created is on humanity’s side. This is not just a plot point to justify a few events, but she (spoiler) is a real, major character who has character development. The countries of the past have (realistically) either evolved or disappeared and are replaced by new ones. A point to note is while there are people with super natural powers on earth at the beginning of the story, they are not cultivators. The people on earth have powers they were born with that they advanced, not powers that anyone can obtain through hard work. Cultivation is something introduced to humanity from the other world 'game', bolstering humanities combat powers. The MC is from the future, which many readers dislike, but it actually feels like it in this novel. The MC is a genius Engineer who helped humanity evolve there technology to battle against their enemies. He is also an expert in the other world that humanity enters. Now you may think this is very annoying, as he sounds like a protagonist who can do anything. The thing is, he can not. His knowledge of the future only really helps him 3 whole times before future events change too much for them to be of any use. His status as a genius on earth is quickly realized, but future events move forward too fast and prevent him from taking much advantage of his future knowledge, as he is basically forced to carry humanity through events that they were originally supposed to have time to prepare for. This means he is always working very hard and is often barely able to win most battles (he actually struggles). His position as a previous life expert isn't very helpful in the other world either, after a while, as though it does help him be recognized as talented, the many events playing out happen when he is too weak to handle them using his own power (as its a cultivation world), forcing him to plan and scheme. This is a harem novel but the MC isn't an idiot. You can think of him as someone like the MC of tales of demons and gods, but way less dense. He loves the main heroine a lot and proactively tries (and succeeds) in dating her, but he still cares greatly about other the other females around him, his master in the other world and the princess of one of earths major nations. The only real complaint that could be had is that this novel had basically no SoL, he is always doing something and events happen one after another. There is obviously bridges between them, but he doesn't really have points where is relaxing, as he has to manage to worlds and not just one. I would personally prefer for the MC to have some down time where he just sorta hangs out with his friends (who actually exist and are rather important) and girlfriend(s). If you have any questions about the novel feel free to ask as I have read up to chapter 500 on the other site.
