I feel as if the development of the characters are a bit fast, not even 10 chapters in the main character left home. This is fine, but I feel little connection to the main character. There was a big time skip almost right in the beginning where the main character goes on a killing spree with a crab. Then, he gets revenge on the person who wiped out his family with little effort expended. Where is the ******* building? This has potential for a big climactic battle where we can see the MC get revenge for his family, and it felt like anything but. In addition, i feel the relationships between the characters could also benefit from developing more slowly. The first part where he met with the crab and failed to kill it was neat, but then they do a 180 and as the manta is fleeing suddenly he befriends it. Then he begins to casually talk with the crab about things he has seen from earth with the crab not even caring much. the concept is interesting and refreshing, having a underwater theme can be amazing as well. But I feel as if this is underutilized, as there are little aspects of this used, and what is used is kinda odd. An example of this would be the MC and the crab seeing a giant tree underwater. First off, does it look like a normal tree? Is it a large coral reef in the shape of a tree? Is it a species exclusive to this world? In short general description of the scenery would be great. The world could be developed more, as we have seen the MC be able to talk with other species, like a eel, and a crab, and a fish, so was he able to talk to fish that he went on a killing spree with? Did he just want to go on a killing spree with a crab? In regards to the grammar and spelling errors, it's minimal or not very noticeable in my opinion beyond a few here and there. I've certainly read books with far more than this one. In conclusion, I think this could be a great novel, with it's interesting concept, but at the moment it feels underutilized, and far too fast paced to develop connections with the characters within. I will keep reading and I'll reply to this or change my review if my opinion changes.
