I just realised that in webnovel you can post a review without ever reading the actual story. I can't imagine who would be stupid enough to overlook such an important feature in a website where people's very livelihoods are dependent on the amount of people willing to spend spirit stones to read their "top rated novels" smh 😑

Anyone who takes the review system on this website seriously is honestly stupid. Qidian and Authors delete your bad comments and reviews, and fake high ratings so people read certain things. In addition, Qidian rewards those who post a review everyday, when there are only a limited amount of books. They also allow you to post multiple reviews on the same book! Why? So you can’t spam EXP EXP EXP EXP and 5 stars on XY Novel! Who in their right mind trusts this website, or anything to do with China for that matter.

Anyone who takes ratings seriously clearly hasn’t been on this site for very long. The fact that you can review the same book multiple times means that every novel’s rating is going to be skewed. Also, the deliberately try and raise the score by putting in consistent updates and translation quality as part of the rating. That’s not a part of the book, and is something the most basic. Try and find a translated novel on webnovel with less than 3.8 stars.

However broken it might look but is good for when one reads the book outside of webnovel and gives a review on webnovel. Not to mention many reads novels anonymously without ever logging in despite it being so easy to log in with just a google account. Thats not a a flaw. A flaw of webnovel be like-- -Authors being able to delete reviews. -Quantity over quality instead of quantity as quality. -Selection-lock (Those that copies the books don't get lessened instead people that wants to use read aloud apps in websites are disappointed. Any Copy unlock extension does the job for those pirates. Only the general readers suffer) -pocketing 70% of money from authors(Pocketing almost every from chapter locks goes to webnovel) _ this website is more readers friendly than author friendly. -
