I was really enjoying the story of Charles and his adventures in a sort of polytheistic; magical; Victorian-Style world. There are no steam engines, but it gave me a feeling like steampunk—in a good sort of way. There are a number of unexpected turns. The story has not gone premium—for which I was thankful. I dropped the story, because the Protagonist, Charles acquired an ability that let him grab-bag steal a random memory from a client, while simultaneously erasing it from the client's mind. He erased perhaps 20-years worth of memories from a young woman. Granted, he mercifully slew her afterwards, but who is to say that he won't steal a memory or two from someone and leave them alive. in the future? That is far to heinous an act to commit on ANYONE—I don't CARE how wicked they are. I read to be entertained, not to read about sickening Sadism.

It's not sadism, it's not to leave too much oddities. A big enemy is after his head and if he didn't kill her, there would been a bunch of possibilities. First, he doesn't have full control over stealing her exact memory. So, once he stole her memory and left her alive, she won't be a normal one. She returned to her teenage self. What will happen when others found out that she lost her memory after a battle? Like Red Prince? We still don't know much about his abilities, so there is a possibility that he might have many subordinates and they might have searching for clues with similar effects. And this Memory stealing ability is a very rare one, and it also leaves clues. Once they found him using those clues, he would have regretted that decision. He won't kill like sadistic but these are necessary. Anyway, thanks for reading this far man. And I won't make Mc a sadistic, but that doesn't mean I will make MC too goodie. MC is a former assassin, so he won't leave such possible clues.

I have NO PROBLEM with killing her. He MAY steal someone's memories in the future though, and LEAVE them ALIVE. That is far far more heinous than merely killing someone
