Yes. The reason people from main continent came to Ivory Island is mainly to collect resources like potion ingredients, poaching talents etc. Elizabeth also mentioned this when Raven asked what is the purpose of Velvet Eclipse.

Stamina. Although walkers can run with inhumane speed, they will get tired too. Humans can get tired after running for a few hundred meters, same way, walkers get tired after running for a few kms. And using spells consume elemental power and needed some time to recharge. For example, teleportation spell could allow one person to travel for a km or two. Then, one needed to refill the elemental circlet and then continue. For low rank walkers, travelling through train and carriage is most comfortable way. But if a Rank-4 or Rank-4 being, he could just fly and reach his destination. In Fire Mage, Charles also relied on carriages at the beginning. But after he became Rank-4, he started using his strength for transportation. I'm actually planning to slowly improve the technology from victorian era to slowly modernize with magic and then to Sci-fic in this novel. I don't know if this works out. But I think I need to focus on world building more for that. And need to introduce all the late victorian era technologies one by one. Haa, long way to go. Anyway, thanks for reminding me lol. Gotta focus on this too. This will be more like Kingdom Building novel, so it's possible to introduce slowly.
