This review is part of a review swap and valid as of chapter 16. So this is litrpg, labelled as video games here. Still litrpg. In this case the video game label makes sense, because we're not talking transported / reincarnated into a game world. The main character gets timeslipped from his pro-gaming days into his not so pro past and decides to pick up the game again. And that's basically the premise for the story. At chapter 16 we've barely scratched the surface of the story. Deciding to pick up the game has progressed into relearning the game from scratch with a decent batch of advantages from having played it before? Did that make any sense? Well, it's litrpg after all. Our main char drops from level hysterically OP to creating a new avatar. There's, mildly put, a difference in ability in-game. Anything that should normally belong to the daily grind becomes insta-death. At chapter 16 the characters in the story are just embarking on their very first adventure, and they've encountered a set-back. While litrpg isn't my cup of tea the story told here is good. If you're into reading status displays inlined in the text then you should read this one. If you're needing your fix of godlike superpowered character from day one, stay away. Now for the stars. Writing: Five stars that should be four and a half. Reccuring instability in the departement of past and present tense detracts a little from the reading experience. Updates: Five stars. It says STABILITY of updates, not update as often as possible. This one's stable, but expect a character every second day or so. Story: Five stars. Background, start of the hero's journey, the first decision. Not much to say. Character: Five stars. For obvious reasons you'll get forcefed with atrificial attributes -- this is litrpg after all. World: Four stars. Probably a solid five stars another twenty chapters into the story, but right now there's simply too little world. While I agree with the choises made by the author, splitting the beginning of the story into three distinctly different settings carves up the already small world in even smaller chunks. I don't do litrpg. I have read a few, and this one starts out as one of the top three I've seen. Make of that what you want. I've only read some twenty odd stories in this genre.

"If you're needing your fix of godlike superpowered character from day one, stay away." Well ****, that's all you had to say. What's the point of being reincarnated if you're just going to suck just as much the second time around? And I bet the MC gets a bunch of ankle weights (aka Teammates) dragging him down too. How many chapters until the forced Harem makes an appearance?

No harem in the chapters released yet :D For obvious reasons I can't answer for what the author adds in the future. I kinda liked that it was toned down in the power-departement, but I respect that we have different preferences.

Thanks for the response, and sorry I bugged you about it. I'll run with the current cover then.

He is the strongest player at the moment, I'm not sure if that's considered sucking.

Hey, no offense toward how you want your story to go. I just like my stories, where if the synopsis says they have every right to be overpowered, to be overpowered. Not just a little ahead of the curve, not constantly being held back by ankle weights, not putting the main story on hold to make sure his seventeen Harem members are done pouting, *OverPowered*. The kind of Over Powered where they are always climbing the next mountain while their opponents are still putting on their snowpants. The kind of OverPowered where Boss monsters are afraid of meeting the ~MC~ in a dark alley. The kind of OverPowered where there is always a solution to any challenge the Game tries to throw at you, and that solution is being even more OverPowered by using your advanced knowledge to bend all the rules over your knee until they break. Some of the best examples are "Rebirth of the Thief Who Roamed the World", "The World Turned into a Game After I Woke up", "The New World" by Monsoon117, and "The Games We Play" by Ryuugi. All of the Main Characters either use their advanced knowledge to completely steamroll the competition or do it through sheer stubborn persistence and I highly rate all of them.

I mean, no matter what I say it doesn't mean anything. Let my story do the talking and read it.

For the review you gave I kinda excepted a low rating. You only rated high because you don't read a lot of this genre? Well I wouldn't review romantic novels because I don't like them and my review would be negative from the start, so I get your indecision. But man...Your words contradict your score so bad haha

When I review I clearly state if I l dislike the genre since there is a risk my review will be coloured by my dislike (and it probably will). However I attempt to review AS IF I was comfortable with the genre (with the boundary condition that whatever I deem nessecary for a good story of a Joe random genre isn't broken). Sometimes there will be conflicts, which is the reason I make it clear I'm not fond of a given genre.
