Most boring story l've read, I understand l'm being harsh since there's only 28 chapters out now but I nearly fell asleep twice reading it. I don't mind slow pace stories but I felt as if the premise wasn't used at all. I don't know if it's the author how he writes he's stories as l've read some of he's previous works and usually drop them after 40 chapters or the translation but I felt major dissappointment from reading it. Of course though my opinion is probably the only negative review seeing how everyone loves it so l guess read it anyways since the story is a mix of fantasy and steam punk.

LIKEYea l get what you're trying to say but l just wrote the review considering a lot of people we're rating it 5 out of 5 without even reading it and just wanted to state my opinion on it and it's not as if it's gonna affect the ratings since l'm the only one with the negative review.
deriveaq:i think your word is not quite objective and accurate.many people in China love his novel very much, and the writer has great respect among the reader in qidian.in my opinion, what you say is true.but it cannot cover the shine of this novel.
deriveaq:i have read more chapter in China.so do trust the writer, the dull beginning foreshadows the climax of the story.and thanks for your explanation,i have learnt a lot.
deriveaq:i think it should cost you much more patient..hope you enjoy this magic, and “reality”world.( ^_^)
Viewing reviews on this book atm, i have read up until current myself, just curious if you stuck with it
BER5ERK:I shall try my best to last past 100 if l can't imma drop it :/
The problem is, all other CN are more boring: OP MC, enemies seems to keep hating MC for no reasons, bragging on Seniority and more Seniors keep trying to kill MC.. and spectators seems to know EVERYTHING about MC ALL TIME. At least in this novel, the MC is not All Powerful, All Knowing while still manage to outwit his opponents and he has ALLIES and tries to build ALLIES. Other CN tends to have MC soloing everything >_>
honestly, I had struggled with the earlier chapters of the novel but a part of the beauty of this novel is the profound and slow introduction to the settings, it's probably the best novel I have read online by a pretty large margin if you get through the start of the novel you won't regret it. I feel like this story is the most detailed one by far, it's almost like I actually have a visual memory of places he described.
yeah that's a fair opinion, l recently finished reading the story. it's good but l realise the author's writing by the end wasn't for me. I can appreciate it but l can't say l love it, only like it. me personally, the wandering inn is by far the best world building story better than even mainstream books not because it's one of the longest web serial ever written but due to it's characters that each draw you into different lores of the fictional kingdoms and races. It's like the one piece of web novels.

don't worry I gave it another chance lol and read all of it, still can't say it's a masterpiece. World building is good, just wished they focused on the characters more and gave them more emotional growth and made me actually care about them. the ending was also a bit all over the place but overall decent read. Personally l enjoy something like the wandering inn over this, a world much larger and with better characters.
DaoistJQzkPt:That is because of all the world building. Remember that unimportant thing that was said in early chapters? Yeah that became one of the most important plot pieces.
100% agree with you, I really wanted to get to know each and every character more than we got to and especially seeing how they interact in different settings

So, does the story take 100 chapters before it even starts to become readable? If so, that's just a terribly written story with some glitter thrown over it. I'm struggling to retain enough will to continue as I trudge through this mess. I'm looking for a decent story like The Legendary Mechanic and noticed some people referencing this book at the end. Hoping for something of that quality... Any help is appreciated.
