This story is written in a slice of life manner & is pretty good... not the best out there, but it is well written... I would suggest that things progress faster & that the characters have more personality (Review is based on ch.1-78 only, as I paused reading due 2 the story getting a Lil slow)

Also... in case you haven't read them, I would like to recommend the following stories for basic inspiration... I think it might help with how much progress & detail is necessary vs when the story is being dragged out... Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes, All Thanks to a Single Moment of Impulse Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang Of course the stories are different in genres, and yours is more lighthearted (+BL :p)... Im not sure when I'll pick it up, but i look forward to reading this another time

Thanks for your review! I actually read the second story you recommended and liked it. The first one rings a bell, too, but I can't really remember if I've actually read it or not. I'll probably go and check it out again 😁 About OMF being a little slow sometimes, it's true. I'm going to cut it a bit when I find the time to edit the whole thing. That won't be in the near future, though, since I'm more concentrating on getting the next chapters out atm 😊

This is a pretty decent story, but there is one big issue in my point of view. The story doesn’t have a true protagonist. (Maybe very minor spoilers) First off the crown prince Jingyi, he is still a child and one that has no memories of his previous life and is extremely gullible and a bit dumb. But that is to be expected of a normal mortal child. It’s pretty easy to lie to children and stuff like that. Thus he is not the main character. Second is the Dragon King, he seems like a male lead type character, and once again, not a main character or protagonist. He came down to the mortal world to help his lover’s trial. He is often obsessive and quite annoying in a sort of lovable way. He doesn’t really fall into the main character category. The issue is that while the first 50 chapter were enjoyable, I was getting bored. You started introducing more characters or making some characters grow more of a personality. There still wasn’t really a central character that really completed the story. I have read up to chapter 137 and have found myself often skimming chapters more and more. I even started skipping a chapter or two because I was so bored or annoyed. This is a romance story, but it’s very one sided. How is a story that is about two lovers, but have only one. It was funny at first that Jingyi was a baby and everything. But it became just a one sided love. That makes the BL aspect of this story feeling like it dragged. This story seems more like a comedy, rather than a BL story. The comedy is becoming recycled or at least very dragged out. It’s been 137 chapters and no BL... I’m not asking for explicit content or anything, just some progress, cause 0 seems to have happened. The real plot, aka the BL, hasn’t even started. When you think about it, once he dies and regains his memory, all this that happened, really won’t mean much in the end because of the information you provided about Jingyi’s previous life. Honestly, what I’m trying to say is, the story is getting boring. This is a BL story, but it seems that we have to settle with an young child and an obsessive lover from the previous life. (Totally not creepy). Please either move the plot faster or start some different ideas to change up the story please!?

This is one of my most favorite stories I've read, including here, in Novelupdates, or other western novels. This story is refreshingly witty without being overdone, with an appropriate amount of world building and character development. The characters are diverse and each one unique in their personalities and skills; even the side characters are very memorable. We not only see the story of Qiu Ling and Jing He (or Jing Yi, as his mortal form is called) but also of many other characters, all of which is woven together into a fun and coherent whole. The arcs are distinctly separated based on various stages in Jing Yi's life, and we see how Qiu Ling accompanies him while hiding or out in the open, and the various ways Qiu Ling inadvertently thwarts and frustrates the Fate's Scribe, Shun Tao, as he attempts to write out a proper trial for is crown prince. The story is hilarious and light-hearted with tons of fluff between the main characters. I love how the relationship developed between them. Jing Yi's initial reaction to Qiu Ling was very believable, and the way he decided to give Qiu Ling his all without much fuss after accepting him was very satisfying. I love how in both his lives Jing Yi's steadiness and stability perfectly balance Qiu Ling's enthusiasm and troublemaking. I love how serious they both are about each other and how they both complement and bolster each other's strengths and weaknesses. I love how, despite it being a light-hearted story 90% of the time, we still get to see proper character development and the darker sides of a few characters. And as always, seeing Qiu Ling's unique take on everything and his exceedingly funny way of interacting with other characters (especially his mother-in-laws in both the worlds) makes everything so much more better. I'm very thankful that Qiu Ling, though excessively jealous and irresponsible sometimes, supports and encourages Jing Yi in every way he needs, never crossing the line with his forcefulness or pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable. All in all, this is definitely worth the read. I'm very thankful for the Author having crafted this wonderful story that is both written nicely and that is also updated so regularly and consistently. I will forever thank my lucky stars for having stumbles upon this.

(BL)Alpha Made

The world is diverse and flourishing. Humanity has changed, and with it, brought in a new era of prosperity. Males and females still exist, but the spectrum from which humanity is cast has broadened. With the introduction of alpha, omega, and beta, humanity has evolved even further. In such a word, Dr. Andrew Knox, known environmental researcher, is happy being a beta male. It has made his life easier by being middle ground, and as much as some wish he was one way or the other, he’s happy being who he is. Thriving even. He works in a world renowned research facility. He makes friends easily, and his projects are always funded. He even found someone who he thinks he could end up marrying if things continue in the right direction. That, and the vacant house next to his apartment building gets bought by a new neighbour. A cute, but cautious omega who relies on Andrew as a beta for help. Andrew couldn’t be happier. He loves being a helper, and loves when people rely on him. All in all, Andrew really thinks he has everything made. That is, until a research project with shoddy data is thrown back into his face that he has no recollection of working on, and all of his reputation disintegrates in between one heartbeat and the next. Heartbroken, it isn’t until Andrew wakes up, chained to a wall that everything becomes clear. He becomes a test subject to one of the scientists that he trusted. That he expected would never harm him. The life he had known, where he was a respected researcher was ripped out from underneath him. His identity and everything he’s ever known is stolen from him from a crazed researcher who he had trusted, maybe even loved. He has to relearn who he is, what he is, from scratch. Thankfully, he has one person in his corner. He just never expected to have to rely on someone whose shoulders were so small. This is an a/b/o story, and will have those tropes associated with it. I hope you enjoy :)

My Dear Duke(BL)

On his 20th birthday, Asher's mother confessed something he never expected. After the truth was revealed, she died giving her last blessing to him. That's when Asher found himself all alone, confused about his own identity and worrying about his future. What did she say? -He was someone special? -Someone people would come after? She said he was coming from a very rare but also a very special race called omega where men could get pregnant. Was it real? At first, Asher strictly refused to accept his mother's confession. But in the end, he had to believe it. Because it was the bitter truth. If he was really coming from such a rare race, and had such a special body, did he have to live all his life hiding so he wouldn't get caught and become someone's plaything? Was that the only way to avoid getting the bad ending his father got? Why was he even born as someone like this?! He just wanted a peaceful life. So, it wouldn't be as dangerous as his mother said if he just forgot he was special and lived like a normal person, right? People would not notice. Alas, it's been a long time since people last saw an omega and they must be believing no omega exists now. At least that's what he thought... He thought people might have forgotten about his existence and he would not have to face any problems in the future.  Whether he was special or not, he still became a target. When he was kidnapped and auctioned as a slave, he regretted ignoring his mother's last advice. "Don't trust anyone easily. Your safety is in your hands and protecting yourself is your duty." He could only blame himself and expect for the worst if his special identity was to get revealed and meet the same end as his father did. However, his fate gave him a second chance along with a huge surprise which changed his life for the better. Hopefully, Asher was saved by the so-called 'bloodthirsty monster' duke and brought to his mansion to babysit his spoiled 10-year-old little sister who threw tantrums declaring she wants Asher to pat her head and comfort her. Just to babysit this adorable, little girl.  He was safe. His secret was also secured within himself. Thanks to that chaotic sister and brother, Asher's life slowly took new turns and continued with almost no obstacles...till some point. The surprise? The duke happened to have some kind of a 'strange' illness that had no cure. Not long after when Asher discovered it, he ended up becoming the perfect cure for his illness. But how? -Remember? He was 'special'! Where would his specialty as an omega lead his life to? What kind of mysteries would he have to encounter with this duke wishing comfort from him?  Will the duke's 'strange' illness ever get healed? How would their story flow to that perfect happy ending with the twist of love landing in the middle of their 'just a deal'? ________________ Note:  This story continues in a historical timeline. Similar to omegaverse, but not the same omegaverse universe. Magic, revenge, dukes, royal families, curses, spells, heats, ruts... (The book cover is from Pinterest. Respect to the artist.)
