The sun was high and scorching after a few hours. By that time, I had a full belly and a smoothie on hand with a bathrobe. Sitting on a recliner, I watched the distance plumes of smokes and sirens that could be heard from all around.
I couldn't help feel for the common civilians who had been caught up in the clash.
Beside me, Masal was on a chair and a middle aged woman stood beside her with a smile. She was the owner of the building that we chose to crush into and was hospitable enough to provide everything we needed.
"When are we going back?" Masal asked after a long silence seeing me not react.
She had a straight face. Even though I was gazing at her, she remained steel with a poker face. Her face didn't flush like other women. She even didn't ask if she had dirt on her face. She was confident and adorable. There was an air of authority around her that made me feel more at ease and at the same time alert.
"Soon, are you in a hurry?"
