Wife for Hire

Wisdom Weisz was probably the unluckiest woman in the world. She lost her house and ten-month-old daughter in a fire in a single day. And what’s worse is that on the same day, her husband was making love to her best friend in the latter’s apartment without paying any sort of remorse for her. Weeks after, she was also fired from her job for the viral video that was taken on the time she shamed her ex-husband and ex-best friend in front of many people. Frustrated, she was left jobless and spent her remaining money in a luxury hotel’s bar. With destiny as unpredictable as ever, she met the billionaire in the bar who she already came across at various moments of her life. The man offered her a job and it was called, “Wife for Hire”, meaning she will be his wife without any emotional attachments. Wisdom was skeptical at first when the billionaire showed him the sum of money she will receive weekly. If she accepts, the billionaire will pay her upfront with a hundred dollars in her bank in just a blink of an eye. Wisdom eventually accepts as she deemed this as an opportunity for revenge to her former husband and best friend as the billionaire happened to be her ex-husband’s boss and her ex-best friend's employer. Wisdom Weisz was on cloud nine at first until she realized that her heart was about to fall for him. As a whirlpool of emotions stirred and a web of conflicts weaved, Wisdom will soon find out that this job was not easy as she thought as her heart begins to fall for the man who had employed her to be his hired wife.

“Wisdom, I am n—it’s not true. She kicked me!”

“But you kissed her!” I shouted; my two fists ready to fire like a cannonball.

“I didn’t,” he reasoned for the thousandth time. “I just fell on her face and—“

“Kissed her,” I blurted.

“What do you mean by that, Wisdom?”

“I rather see your face on the filthy floor than on the lips of a devil’s bitch.” Crossing my arms over my chest, I acknowledged my heart’s throbbing and my blood rising.

Denver Giordano laughed nervously, breathily. “So you rather want to see my face bloodied and filled with dirt than being kissed accidentally?”

I sneered. “Which part of it is the accident? Falling into her face or kissing her? You could have landed on her neck or dodged her whore of a face!”

“If I do that, we’ll still be arguing and you will be accusing me of necking her.” His eyes are angry and teary. And tired.

He hoisted his two hands in the air and exhaled. “Look Wisdom…”
