In my room, I, for the most part, sat alone, mindlessly swiping on my phone, getting absorbed in the tragic love stories of the fictional characters. "Elijah would do everything for Klare. Rozen would manipulate everyone just to get to Coreen," I sighed. "And you, Azrael Ian Montefalco III? You're such a jerk. All you did was annoy me, yet somehow you still got to me. Where's the justice in that?" I didn't realize I'd spoken out loud until Aki appeared out of nowhere.
"Repeat that. Azrael Ian Montefalco III?" he asked, watching me with arched eyebrows as he leaned over my shoulder. "Show me who that is so I can punch him. That jerk beat me to it." I glanced at him, surprised. Was he kidding? Was he honestly jealous of a fictional character? The other day, he had taken the liberty to get so emotional when an opportunity came up for one of my male classmates to talk to me about our thesis, and he made a face that was nothing short of icy and bruising to the poor guy who turned and ran. Until the point, I was unaware of that because he didn't inform me.
I sneered and replied, my eyes still on his face, "Are you out of your mind?" "That's just fiction. You are strangulating the air out of me, Aki! This needy obsession with my attention really sucks. Now, congratulations, you got what you wanted." I folded my arms, Use the tone of the bitter sulky teenager crossed my mind, but at the same time I felt an odd mix of irritation and amusement.
"Oh, and you're Mr, Bad Boy, the outstanding one!" he came back with mocking, "So, please, be so kind, and preserve the mysterious, chilly flirting technique, is it ok?"
He simply smiled with pride, carefree, and his eyes glowed dangerously with excitement. "I wouldn't care if he was make-believe, Tinnie. What's mine is mine and if it is necessary to force you, I might ", he told the bite in a loving snarl and pretended to catch the bite in the air with a fast movement closer to me.People with nothing to hide are actually the ones who are genuine. The plastic people, like you, need to stay away just to look good. I only act like this around you. It's only with you that the real Aki is out."
"Get the heck out of here. Your existence itself right now annoys the living hell out of me." I muttered out of annoyance. He stared at me full of confusion. Those black orbs of his made me wanna gouge his eyes.
He sighed, unable to win an argument with me. And as I stared at him slowly leaving the room I could finally breathe. As if I was holding my breath for far too long that I would end up gasping for air.
