"That Stan is too stuck up."
"I know right. We are humans, not robots!"
Several players were badmouthing someone as they drank their beer inside one of the tavern. They were not the only one who resented their leader. As more and more players rushed at the plaza of the city, more complaints could be heard about the same person.
"I really can't believe it. He killed every single member of those dog-eared kin as if they were insect. Is he even human?"
"Some says that he was a real demon back on earth. It's good that we never cross him."
"But man… I haven't enjoyed those dog-eared girl enough. He could at least spare several of them for us right? It won't hurt."
"You gonna complaint about it? You prepared to die, noob?"
"Ugh never."
Not just once or twice, it was like almost every time, the main topic would always be Stan. He conquered the heart of his underling using the most effective method he had been taught of, fear. That method always worked efficiently.
Used to.
But at the moment, it backfired considering most of his current underling were just lazy pants who never was motivated to do anything. They only knew how to laze around all day and leeching off their parent's money.
"Seriously Stan. You just gonna let them talk behind your back like that?"
"No sweat. I won't die from it anyways."
"I know but it's irritating. They were totally clueless about you yet they talked as if you're doing nothing and worked them off like slaves. I so wanted to beat some sense into them."
Inside the city hall, two figure were seen gazing out from the window, observing everyone at the plaza. They were Stan and Whacko, the leader of DarkMonarch. They were still in the Bloodhound Dukedom, getting ready to sort out and claimed their objective.
The only one who knew everything about Stan's plan was Whacko. He was the only one Stan trust in this world. In fact, nobody in their guild knew that Whacko was actually Stan's manservant. His family had served the main family for generations.
The part where Stan killed every member of the Bloodhound kin that they captured, he obviously did so with a reason. He never told anyone else about it though. He just gave his order to execute every single one of them in the plaza. That kind of attitude made most of his guild member resented him more. The outcome might differed if he actually opened up to them but it never was his intention to do so.
"Any news from Bean?"
"Nope. Why?"
"It's nothing. We might passed by each others later on so don't worry about it."
"Ah, okay. Let's get going then."
"Erm. All of our back up army were ready to sortie too."
Even Whacko who was close to Stan didn't notice the bitter smile on Stan's face. Being trapped in this world was actually the worst experience in his life. For these couple of years, he need to put up with all these incompetent underling. How could an elite like him be satisfied with this condition?
Stan was an elite minority of the underworld. His father was one of the big time mafia leader in Italy, the Jojo Family. Among his siblings, he was the most gifted, the one who impressed their father the most. His other siblings could only grit their teeth as Stan's position was secured even before he was of age.
Even though he was not the first son, he was actually nominated by almost every elder in the family for the next generation head's spot. He did well in almost everything, especially all those behind the scene underhanded job which brought money rolling for the family.
When HeavensTale was just a game, he didn't care much about the quality of his guild member. He treat this game as a place for him to kill time and also one of the means to contact Mays considering that Mays was always online in game. Truth be told, he was not that fond of gaming himself. But since Whacko who was his best friend was into games, he still gave it a try regardless.
"Bleh, just a little bit more and then we can destroy everything here. This time for sure we will send those in human continent another hellish experience before we go back to our world."
"Hope so."
In one perspective, Stan acted more or less the same as Mays. He calculated everything beforehand, making sure that nothing would go wrong. His insight in almost every situation was also top tier. The only thing which made him different from Mays was that he never put himself in the equation of his plan. He loved to stay behind the scene while Mays always made his plan centered on himself.
Glancing at the capital city of Bloodhound Dukedom they had spent months living at, everyone walked away from the city with different thought about their leader's next plan. Even Stan himself stole a glance at the city one last time before he walked away from it.
"DragonKeep Dukedom. Ancient Demon King Altar. Here we go."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"Fuh, safe."
"Good job, Minerva."
Before the paralyzed Mays fell to the ground, Minerva leapt down from Flamence and immediately embraced Mays on air. The timing was perfect as Minerva only need two more step before she actually landed on the ground while holding Mays.
"Hup!"
Syaitona landed in front of Minerva and started attacking the demonic being on the ground. Due to the commotion resulted from Mays's last attack, more and more demonic being were gathering at that area. Most of Minerva's and Syaitona's previous opponent were also rushing to the place where they currently at.
"One of them is injured. Focus our attack on him!"
"Go go go! Finish them!"
"Kill them all!"
These mindless demonic beings who rushed toward the trio was the weakest of the bunch. They didn't even had a leader to command them at the moment. They just followed their previous orders, immediately rushing toward the enemy without care about their own life.
One after another, demonic beings who was full of themselves were killed easily as they approached the three of them. These normal boss and normal fighter demonic beings were not considered as a real enemy at all.
At the moment, the only one who was doing the killing was Syaitona alone. Mays was unable to move while Minerva was still holding Mays carefully. She also maintained her Flame Pillar surrounding the two of them, mostly for Mays's protection.
Minerva did help in attacking the opponents on occasion when she saw the opportunities using her flame arrows. Flamence on the other hand helped a little bit but apparently two silver ranked intermediate boss was enough to hold it off.
"Ugh, these pest. Why are the others not here yet?"
Not even one minute passed yet the number of demonic beings surrounding them now was close to one hundred. Most of them were just the normal boss and normal fighter but the annoying one were those silver ranked intermediate boss.
Syaitona couldn't kill those intermediate boss if she didn't concentrate on them but the situation prevented her to do so. Not to mention that these demonic beings also had their own witch doctor and dark shaman who could heal them.
"I don't think I could hold them all. My flame pillar couldn't withstand water type attack for long!"
Minerva shouted from behind. She was also in a pinch.
Mages never had defensive skill like healers. They couldn't put up a barrier. The only thing she could do was piling up several flame pillar together to imitate a barrier. Even that move had its own weakness.
"Just a little bit more. Hold on until our reinforcement arrive."
"The flame pillar is down. I need to join in the fight."
"Not yet. Wait. WHERE ARE YOU MIRA DAMNIT! COME HERE FASTER YOU MIDGET!!"
"ROOOOOOOOOOARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!"
A loud roar accompanied by a huge flame outburst occurred in front of Syaitona after she shouted. The timing was more than perfect for a great entrance of the lead actor. Mira had arrived riding the Dark Flame Dragon, decimating nearby demonic beings using the dragon's breath.
"Thou shall not fear since Flame Empress Mira is here! Kill them all!"
"ROAARRRR!"
Another dragon roar and more demonic being were roasted into fresh charcoal. These poor soul who died were mostly silver ranked fighter. A normal boss and gold ranked fighter could manage at least one dragon breath or two without dying instantly. They had better resistance than silver ranked fighter after all.
Dark Flame Dragon was now in its normal mode. The emperor mode could only be maintained for ten minutes at most. Now that the attack power of the Dark Flame Dragon was less destructive than before, Mira had lost interest on riding it. She jumped down the moment the Dark Flame Dragon flew down and landed beside Syaitona.
"Also Syaitona, it's no good to talk behind people's back you know?"
"As if you're one to talk!"
The moment Mira and the Dark Flame Dragon joined in, their brittle defense from earlier immediately turned into an impenetrable one. The flame pillar doubled with Mira also helping in producing some of them and Minerva could finally focused her all on defense. The Dark Flame Dragon was also a force not to be trifled with. Its huge body was more than enough to intimidate the demonic beings, making them hesitant on attacking.
"What about Golia?"
"He is taking a detour for a bit. Worry not, he will arrive soon."
Not too far from Mays's current location were the remnant of the kingdom's wyvern knight squad led by Captain Romanov. Currently leading them were not their squad captain, but a gallant female knight, Damia.
"Gather around the female knight. "
"Rank and files just follow the instruction. We can survive this."
Squad leaders who was still on their feet helped in managing the remaining member of the wyvern knight when they saw Damia pushing away the enemies. She was totally like a ray of hope in the midst of darkness. Her strong figure defeating demonic beings one after another and opening a road for them was something every single member of the squad had been hoping in this hopeless situation.
"Ptuih! You sure hit hard, woman!"
Askoro came out from under the rubble. He was sent flying after he took one hit from Damia previously. He was also enraged by the fact that this female knight didn't even consider him as a worthy opponent. She immediately knocked down several demonic beings after him without even checking whether he survived or not.
"Ah, you're quite tough. Back for more?"
"Hell, yeah! Prepare yourself!"
"Kuheok!"
Once again, Askoro took a direct kick and was sent flying several meters away. This time, he was knocked down cleanly, his body didn't even twitch anymore. Without wasting any more time on him, Damia moved forward while leading the rest of the humans toward Silvia and the others.
"Seriously, who is that female knight?"
"I don't know. But she's damn cool."
"Yeah I second that."
Several knights were admiring Damia after witnessing her awesome performance. She was too perfect a woman in the eyes of those knights. There were several female knights in the kingdom but none was as great as the female knight in front of them right now. Slowly moving forward while fending off the demonic beings who attacked them, they finally grouped up with Aloha and the rest.
"Please heal those injured, Aloha."
"Urm. Ttt…those with serious injury, come closer please."
Damia who was back to the group asked Aloha to heal the injured human knights she brought back with her. She even put Captain Romanov in front of Aloha and gestured her to immediately heal him. Aloha agreed right away with a smile on her face.
The barrier surrounding the area was erected by Aloha. So far, she had been doing nothing except maintaining the barrier since the rest of the party hardly get injured during their fight. Every single one of them had their potions too just in case if they actually got hurt.
"Thank you for your benevolence."
"Thank you so much."
Every knight who was healed by Aloha thanked her wholeheartedly. Some of them even cried while thanking Aloha who healed them into perfect health.
"Goddess!"
"These girls were goddess!"
"There is a guy among them though. He was extremely strong like them too."
"And handsome. He's goddamn handsome and manly. This world so not fair!"
There were also those who revered them after witnessing their prowess and enchanting looks. It couldn't be helped since all of them were godly beauty. Even Mada, the only male in the group was showered with praise of jealousy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There were a total of less than twenty knights left including the captain. The others had all perished, mercilessly killed by the demonic beings during the fight. None of them were riding their wyvern anymore. Less than ten wyvern were still alive but they were too tired to even fly.
"Thank you for saving us. We really appreciate it."
Captain Romanov who finally woke up thanked the group of people who saved them. He never imagined that this group would be this formidable. Every single member of their group was strong enough to stand on their own.
"Its… it's nothing much."
Aloha replied awkwardly toward the captain and resumed her healing task. She hardly talk to other man except Mays or her fellow spirits so it felt kind of awkward for her. However, she still replied to Captain Romanov since she was the only one who was not busy fighting. The others were all outside the barrier, fighting off the demonic beings surrounding them.
There were only a total of three gold ranked intermediate boss left on the battlefield. At first, there were eight of them in total. One ran away from his battle against Mays and immediately disappeared from the battlefield using a special teleportation scroll. Three were killed by Mays alone while another one was killed by Mira who rode the Dark Flame Dragon Emperor.
Alakan was still busy somewhere leaving only Dimes and Grot to command the rest of the demonic beings surrounding Mays and the rest of his force. Since most of the higher up of their vanguard force were dead, the battled turned more chaotic with countless explosion centered at a small area. The area where Mays and the rest of them were located.
"The ancient weapon. It finished charging yet?"
"Just done a few seconds ago sir. But, we only got two shot at it."
"That's plenty. Use it now."
"Where should we aim at, sir?"
Dimes was talking to one of those in charge with their secret weapon. Apparently, it had finally finished with the preparation and was now ready to be used.
"There, aim at that group of pest now. Ignore the dragons."
Pointing his finger at the flame pillar enshrouding Mays and Minerva, Dimes ordered the attack.
"Right away sir! TAKE AIM!! FIRE!!"
A nozzle like pillar of darkness immediately shone after the attack was commenced. All thirty people surrounding the large nozzle had a pained look on their face as the nozzle like weapon were draining their magical power at an extreme speed.
"POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVSSSSS!"
A dark colored laser beam shot directly from the nozzle, hitting the flame pillars, destroying it in an instant. Most of the spirits on the area couldn't even react when the attack reached Mays due to its extreme speed. Only Minerva who was holding Mays managed to put up a last minute effort, casting an [Astral Shield] and maintaining it using all of her magic power.
"Ugh, that… koff… koff… was something I didn't thought of."
Coughing off blood, Mays blurted it out sarcastically. He knew that his plan was not perfect. He had not thought that these demonic beings could possibly possessed something of that calibre, easily destroying several flame pillar casted by max level players. That attack was at least on the same level as those gold ranked insane bosses.
Even the rubble from the previous battle were swept away by the huge wind resulted from the clash between the flame pillar and the laser beam. The area was now devoid of rubbles, let alone buildings.
Mays realized that he was not fatally injured even after they took the attack literally head on albeit weaken after the flame pillar brushed off some of the destructive power. Embracing him tightly was Minerva, who was full of bruises after shielding him from the attack. Even her [Astral Shield] was destroyed leaving her with not an ounce of magic power left to fend for herself.
"Thanks god… you're safe… Sir Mays."
Not even worrying about her own injury, she let out a relieved sigh after she realized Mays was totally safe.
Both Syaitona and Mira was blasted several meters away from the clash but they were not that injured. They immediately rushed toward Mays and Minerva after they got up.
"Syaitona! Defensive part, plan B. Now!"
"Yes, Master. Echo Slam! Echo Slam! Echo Slam! Echo Slam!"
Syaitona immediately punched the ground repeatedly using [Echo Slam]. Mira on the other hand just vigilantly observing the surrounding. After that first blast of the ancient weapon, those normal demonic beings surrounding them were wiped out in an instant. Only those with high magic resistance managed to survive albeit barely.
"Commence the next attack."
Grinning as he watched how desperate Mays and his group were after they took the first attack, he immediately ordered the next attack. This ancient weapon could only fire twice before it ran out of its power. It needed to be charged again and for sure they didn't have the manpower for it anymore.
"Yes sir. TAKE AIM!! FIREE!!"
"Syaitona… Whatever it is… make it faster pretty please. That long metallic black thingy is shining again!"
"I don't need your reminder. Echo Slam! Echo Slam! Echo Slam!"
Mira was sweating profusely as her sight focused on the ancient weapon. She even urged Syaitona to do something faster. Syaitona was still punching the ground using [Echo Slam] repetitively. The ground itself started shaking yet nothing out of the ordinary actually happened so far.
"POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVSSSSS!"
The second shot was let out. It was the same attack like before, a laser beam that shot out faster than lightning. The distance was covered in mere instant.
Despite the worse enough situation they were in, Mays who couldn't even move a muscle smiled as he watched the approaching laser beam.
"Heh. Proper planning ensure success."
