Chapter 13

"I thought, it must be bad again."

Hearing a small mutter that had a hint of disappointment in its tone, Leo turned his eyes, staring at that face for a few seconds before shifting his eyes to the white object Violin was holding.

"Even though I really tried," she muttered again, making her think that the man sitting beside her didn't hear her. "Eh, by the way how much do you get?"

As fast as lightning the woman turned around, making Leo take his eyes off the Violin. Along with the look on her face that was originally dim, it was replaced with a happy smile that her clearly threw at Leo. Made Leo think that the girl was pretty good at hiding things.

"You think?" He asked curtly with a glance that was deliberately not diverted to the girl.

"Leo I'm serious, let me see it."

Her hand moved to grab the paper from Leo's hand, the man quickly hid it in his alma mater pocket.

"Nothing special, i'm remedy." He said then which managed to make Violin air a chuckle.

"It's okay, boy. I'm also remedial, so you're not alone." Maybe Violin thought that saying that would make Leo feel better, when in reality he didn't care at all.

Seeing Leo's presence slowly packing his things, Violin looked at the man with a surprised look.

"Come on, you want to skip again, huh?" With her index finger moving to point at the man, Violin promised that Leo would do his thing again.

"You're stupid, aren't you? You can't hear the bell. Besides, you use your eyes first to see the teacher in front, is she still there or has already left? So don't bother me all the time, you'll be confused, right?"

The friction of Leo's stool filled her ears, rubbed the nape of her neck for a moment because she suddenly felt awkward, Violin got up from there carrying her backpack on both shoulders.

Even though she wanted to prank the man again, she had to be delayed when she got a call from the driver who had been waiting for her all along. Making her sigh a little before choosing to step quickly towards the gate, because it's not good if she's had to make other people wait too long because of it.

Apart from the departure of Violin who had disappeared as the car drove away, there was Leo who was still staring at the car, walking to the bus stop as usual with both hands sinking into his Hoodie's pockets.

"Then how did you approach the new kid? Was it successful or not? Remember, you only have a month left. If you fail, my motorbike will still be safe in it's place."

That voice, he knew it. His steps stopped, still with his back to the three men who were sitting pretty on their motorbikes.

"Don't worry, soon I will get her heart, Well, you know, the handsome me has never been rejected by any girl."

"Gosh, you're pretentious, bro. Just yesterday when you were in the library you were kicked out by her."

A chuckle escaped from both of his friends' mouths, finding a tossed bag of zucchini that Herlan had already chewed.

"That was yesterday, you two will see tomorrow, that girl will chase me." Haikal said arrogantly.

"Loser."

One word that managed to make the three men turn to the source of the voice that had just greeted his ears. There already stood Leo who was pulling down his hoodie. Making Haikal get up and approach the man.

"What did you say earlier? Try again one more time, I can't hear the problem."

"You and your friends are losers." Leo repeated casually.

A punchman almost landed on his face, but with his agility, Leo was able to dodge the punch without even moving his hand which was still buried in his pocket.

The two netters looked at the men in front of them one by one, he only knew Herlan and Haikal, one more man he didn't know who, maybe Haikal's friend from another class.

"You don't take care of yourself, man?"

A chuckle until a small grin appeared on Leo's face, giving a daring look to the three men who were still staring at him with dipping eyebrows.

"It's not wrong for me to call you losers, right? Because only weak men make girls to bet on just to get a motorbike. Hell, you're that poor, aren't you? You can't even buy your own motorbike."

The words that succeeded in making the mouths of Herlan and one of his friends who had curly hair became silent. But not with Haikal, the man gave a look of disapproval there.

"If you don't know my background, it's better not to comment carelessly. As long as you know, material matters, I'm better off than your family."

If he has to talk about a fact that can silence Haikal's mouth, everyone might be amazed. Leo's family isn't from the bottom line like what others think. Moreover, none of the students from the school had ever seen him being driven to school in a four-wheeled vehicle, making anyone think that Leo might just come from a simple family.

No, that's a wrong opinion.

"At least I'm not making girls as a bet for goods." Again, sending sarcastic sentences without intending to tell the true fact that his father is a billionaire, not much different from Violin's father.

Even so, he doesn't like it when he has to be proud of something that isn't the result of his own hard work, especially if he has to be proud of someone he currently hates.

"Is that so? Okay, if you think you're not a loser, I'll challenge you one night to beat me in a motorcycle race." Haikal challenged while folding his arms on his chest.

A small smile appeared on Leo's lips, "boyish." Putting the hood back on and intending to walk from there.

"Why? You're afraid. If it's a problem, it's up to you, it's also one of luck for me, because no one can stop my bet."

His steps stopped, at the same time his hands were tightly clenched into fists, the facial expression was still the same as before, Leo turned the position of his body which was standing with sturdy legs that never trembled even though he heard a threat. Call it the overly daring nature that he has inherited from his father, even though his father uses it in the wrong way.

"Well, looks like someone's changed their mind, here. Why boy? Are you interested? Or maybe because—you like that girl?"

"Not everything have to be mixed with feelings, I'm grateful because my brain isn't as naive as yours. At least, my brain can still balance things that shouldn't be in the middle." As if getting a poetic sentence from Leo, making Haikal or Herlan rotate their eyes there.

"Hufft, if you want, all you have to do is talk, it doesn't matter whether you like Violin or not." Herlan answered from behind.

"Exactly. I'm waiting for you to send the location to me."
