Rina decided to learn magic
I marched on the long hallway until I reached the door of my father's study room. Before I can knock, I heard my brother talking about me.
"a rumor circulating in the capital that Rina humiliated the crown prince's lover, Lady Flory. Those bastard doesn't know how to stop! My little sister won't do that kind of thing!" humiliating Flory? hah. I did tease her a little. If I knew beforehand, that a rumor like this will spread around the capital, I should have dragged her out of the bushes and slapped her until her face get swollen. Anyway, there's no need to ask who spread rumors about me in the capital since obviously, it was Flory. I'll pay her back someday but it isn't important right now. I have business with my brother.
I knocked thrice before opening the door.
"greetings to father and brother" I bowed courteously like how any noble ladies do but before my brother opened his mouth to ask, I interrupted him.
"father and brother do not need to worry. I heard the rumors about me long ago, and although I was easily irritated at first and did something disrespectful to harm our precious household, it will never happen again. Those rumors were all baseless" beaming a bright smile, father looked contented with what he heard from me while brother sighs.
"Rina is not a kid anymore, she knows how to differentiate right and wrong" father replied. They didn't know that in my mind, I killed the culprit thousand times.
"However, if anyone bullies you, tell me and I'll punish them myself!" my brother is being overprotective again but this is a good chance to bring up the topic in my mind and the main reason why I came here.
"to tell you the truth, I have a favor to ask. I want to learn how magic work"
Father's expression was like he saw a ghost. My request was not that complicated unless they all thought that I don't care about magic as long as I am obsessed with that selfish and stupid crown prince. However, I am not the Rina from the book who was begging for love from someone not worthy.
I swear until I find a way back, I will do my best to survive here.
"your great brother will teach you Rinrin! I'm glad you changed your mind" brother Azure seems happy about my decision.
"I won't ask you the reason why you changed your mind. I am happy that finally, you'll put your powers into use to protect yourself"
Back then, Rina's power was so little that the magical stone cannot detect the amount of her mana. Azure encouraged her to learn with him but Rina declined and say she was not interested.
So, I understood the expression of father and brother when I requested about learning magic.
"thank you, father. Brother Azure, can we start today?"
"I'm sorry Rinrin but I have something to do today, maybe tomorrow?"
"Then, I will wait for brother. Please take care"
I turned to face father and bow graciously before leaving the room. I should have basic knowledge aside from identifying the kind of magic in the empire.
Staring at my hand, small fragments of dark aura appeared. Maybe I can find the answer to this dark magic if I flip some books in the library.
