Chapter 12: Complete Confusion

It was clear as they got ready in the morning and started heading to class that Veronika had all but forgotten her terrifying history lesson the night before. She was already rambling on about the blood bar and the different people that might be present over the weekend. Lucy recognized some of the names she continued to throw out, but no faces came to mind.

Veronika quickly said goodbye without a passing glance as Lucy left her to walk into her first class. The professor was already setting up, and Lucy moved quickly to an empty seat. She jumped a bit when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned quickly to see Noah smiling wirly behind her.

“Good morning,” he whispered.

“Good morning, what are you doing here?” Lucy couldn’t help but question. He looked at her curiously, like he didn’t understand the question.
