Chapter 13: Confrontation

Lucy sat on her bed with her legs pulled in. She had her arms wrapped around her legs and rested her chin on her knees. She rocked back and forth confused, embarrassed, and angry. Had she imagined it? She had been trying to recall the memories of her attack and feeling out of control…. No, she convinced herself, she hadn’t made it up. She could still feel the burning of Celeste’s lips against hers. She knew it happened. Why was Celeste acting like nothing had happened?

Finally, Lucy just felt angry. She thought she had found something, someone in this place. She felt stupid and upset for having been proven wrong. She glanced at the clock and realized she’d soon be late for her next class. She got up quickly and grabbed her bag before running out towards her classroom. Lucy still felt determined to fit into this world, to learn and find her place. If only to get out of her quickly and away from Celeste.
