Knackered

Sara was utterly knackered the moment she reached Bonington Hall. It was past midnight, and the sound of her luggage wheel resonated the silent hallway.

She was glad she managed to persuade Lucas to drop her off without him stepping on the ground. Otherwise, she had no idea how they would be conversing without echoes following them.

She crept into the living room, walking as stealthily as possible to prevent any sleep disruption caused by her. However, she was startled to see someone was already waiting for her inside her room.

"Aayiz!" She whispered with a shock. "What are you doing here?"

"I didn't mean to startle you," he stood up in abrupt, his hands were inches away from her bearing an apologetic stance.

She closed the door behind her hastily in hopes it would soundproof her room.

"When did you arrive?"

"I came about a few minutes before you did."
