Gray's POV:

Me and harper walked in through the academy doors. Harper looked anxious so I asked "what's wrong, harper. You look like a infected with how pale you're looking." I said trying to lift the mood. "Gray! Don't say things like that! Who knows, I might actually get infected in the entrance exam! I don't have a broken ability like your's." Harper all but yelled. I just rolled my eyes and continued talking. "Hey now, my ability has its own flaws and drawbacks.Your's is actually perfect for hunting undeads" I said in a matter of fact tone making veins appear on his face, but he kept it in.

We continued to walk until we reached a crowd gathered in front of the main academy building. A woman was standing on its balcony. She was at atleast 7.3, a whole head taller than me with chocolate brown skin, silver hair reaching up to her lower jaw, a well toned body with voluptuous and perfect curves complementing it and a battle hardened yet gorgeous face and silver eyes. She was wearing a tight white button up shirt with the top 3 buttons open leaving nothing to imagination, the shirt was tucked in a black high waist beil bottom. She wore black metallic heels most likely made of astronium from the amount of cosmic energy it has inside it, while a black blazer with golden trim rested lazily draped over her shoulder with a logo of the academy and a badge similar to Edward's but with 5 stars.

[cosmic energy: it's a energy that saturated the atmosphere of earth after the impact of the meteor. awakens and Mutants use this to activate their abilities.]

Many guys were ogling her with lust in their eyes including harper. I sighed and smacked him on the head making him yelp in pain as he held his head which now had a bump on it as I stared at him and said "I think I need to tell mom about your habits and activities.". Harper paled as he begin to beg me not to tell mom but I zoned him out to hear what the tall woman was saying.

"Greetings young ones! My name is Rosa Valor and as the director of starfall academy, I welcome you all!" The woman now identified as rosa said in the microphone. I divided my attention to see the reactions of other participant. "So that's lady rosa, but I thought she was in her 60s" a girl asked as another replied "that's due to her ability *cell rejuvenation*. It allows her cells to function at their maximum capabilites while providing her with enhanced physical prowess, regeneration and adaptability.".

"That's quite the well-versed ability with a terrifying potential if used correctly, and from the looks of it she's using it perfectly" I thought, thinking of ways to most efficiently using her ability. "So now that the pleasantries are out of the way, I will now tell you about the entrance exam." She said as I gathered my thoughts and listened carefully. " the exam will be divided into 3 different categories. First is a written exam. It's to check if you have the knowledge to survive in the outside world. Second is a 1v1 to assess your combat prowess. Remember that abilities are not allowed in these battles, if you are caught using your ability, you will be disqualified. Third and last round will be revealed on the day after tomorrow. " she explained as other participants started murmuring.

"Shit! I didn't study anything! What am I gonna do!" Ond yelled "if the abilities are not allowed wouldn't that give people with evolved and ubermensch type ability a edge?" Said another. "What will I do! My ability isn't suited for combat" yelled a girl.

Before the whispers could grow, rosa tapped on the mic to get everyone's attention and spoke "I know you must be confused and dejected due to the second exam, but there's a twist to that. Before the exams begin, you must go to the examination hall to get your ability ranked and obtain your data watch." Rosa said as she rolled up her left sleeve revealing a silver square shaped digital watch.

POV shift:

Everyone entered the examination hall. It was a giant magnificent hall with pristine walls. It had a alter with a palm shaped logo on it. "So that's the ability gouger. Impressive." Harper said in awe. "You seem quite thrilled to see it, don't even think about disassembling it." I said as Harper's neck snapped towards me at light speed making me concerned for the blonde's neck. "What do you take me for?! A mad scientist?!?" Said harper with a offended look. I looked at him with a deadpan expression and said "Harper you used a fire extinguisher and our fridge to create a freeze blaster. Father had to use his ability to stop it from turning our house into a glacier." Hearing that made harper shut up as I saw a man in a white coat stand near the gouger.

"Welcome everybody!! I am doctor Richard and it is a pleasure to meet you all!!" Yelled the tall brown haired good looking man with enthusiasm. "That dude's loud as fuck. Don't you think so too Gray." Harper asked as I nodded, amused by the brunette's enthusiasm.

"I won't take much of your time considering you have a test to take soon so I will explain the details. All you have to do is walk up to the gouger and place your hand on the palm print." Richard said as he placed his hand on the machine making green circuits to appear across it. Suddenly a huge green hollow graphic screen appears on top of the machine with a rank system.

The screen first show the rank system and then Richard's abilities and information. " C ranked? I think the system isn't acknowledging the true worth of his ability." I said as I scanned the information presented by the system.

"This is the basic information that will be provided on the machine. On your watch the information will be much more detailed as well as the drawbacks of your ability will also be shown to you. Your ranks will be determined through your ability's usefulness and drawbacks. So without any further delay, let's start!" Richard concluded as participants started to get their ability registered.

"Hey, isn't that cyan? " a guy said. "Cyan? You mean cyan verte of the verte clan?" People continued to whisper as a black haired, yellow eyed boy of 5.8 dressed in a black shirt and black jeans with white sports shoes walked towards the gouger.

The screen revealed cyan's information. "So that's the infamous enchantment ability of the verte clan." Someone

Said exclaimed. "It's so overpowered. No wonder the vertes are a great clan." Said another " an SR! The max I have seen is a SS!" A guy yelled out. "He's so handsome!" A girl said as a lot of girls agreed.

"Quite a flexible ability. I wonder what's the drawbacks."I said as harper nodded, curious about cyan's ability. "You two would make a great team with your abilities." I said to harper who looked deep in thought, probably thinking about the possibilities of combining his ability with cyan's. "I think you should go next." I suggested as harper looked at me with shock and anxiousness and asked "A-are you S-sure?" I nodded and gave him a encouraging smile.

"Who's that?" A guy asked as he looked at harper. "He's so cute!" A girl yelled as other girls joined in. "Isn't that harper talen? I remember seeing him with sir Edward." A guy with brown hair said as the murmuring became full blown shouts. "Wait, harper talen! You mean the youngest son of Edward talen, the seven star ascended of heaven!" A guy yelled, "he must have a great ability then, right?" Another said. Hearing them made harper even more nervous. His gaze drifted towards me as I gave him a reassuring smile. Harper took a deep breath as he placed his hand on machine. the screen appeared after few moments.

"HOLY SHIT, A X- RANK?!?!?!" Someone yelled out as the whole crowd was stunned at Harper's ability and rank. "It would have been higher if not for its drawbacks. But if cyan and harper work as a team then most of those drawbacks would be dealt with." I thought as harper quickly scurried back to my side. I smiled at him and patted his head.

People continued to get their ability registered as I was assessing them, thinking of counters to their ability. I felt a gaze at the back of my neck as I swiftly turned in the direction of the gaze only to see a familiar figure. It was a girl. A girl with magenta hair with streaks of green and blue in there. She has a slender and petite body covered by a purple shirt with its sleeves folded upto the middle of her forearms revealing smooth snow white skin, baggie blue jeans and combat oriented white sneakers. Her face looked as if carved by the God's best efforts, sapphire blue eyes,long eyelashes and pink glossy Lips. The earring of a white sun adorned her left ear.

I froze as my hand unconsciously raised to touch the earring of a black crescent moon adorning my right ear. Before I could comprehend the situation, she walked towards the gouger and placed her palm on it. Magenta circuit lines sprang out as the system screen appeared.

DESCRIPTION: Allows the user to create and manipulate frost. Additionally, if the user is in cold temperatures then all stats will increase by 15%. The density of ice depends on the amount of cosmic energy used.

Everyone stared at the system screen with their mouth gaping wide and their eyes looked ready to pop out of their skulls. The girl soon left the hall as people started going senile.

"A XXX RANK!!!! WHO IS THAT GIRL!?!!?!!" yelled a guy. " LINEAGE BASED??? I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A CLAN NAMED MORGAN BEFORE?!?!" shouted another, "SHE'S ALREADY A AWAKENED?!?! WEREN'T WE SUPPOSED TO BECOME A AWAKENED AFTER PASSING THE ENTRANCE EXAM???". More and more started yelling as Richard tried to calm them down.

I looked at the exit, guilt gnawing at my heart as unpleasant memories surfaced in my mind. "Lilly..."

AAAAND DONE!!! Damn that was a lot to write. Uhhhh, this is supposed to be apology note for not uploading for 6 months. I had to leave for my college and I forgot the password of my account so I had to wait until the collage break. Again I sincerely apologize for being absent but now that I am back, I'll try to upload in a week or two. This is abyss gaze, signing out.
