"I don't know how your poor husband stood you all these years but understand why he had a weak heart" he sneered.

She looked up at him fiercely as tears formed in her eyes, "What... did my words hit a nerve, am surprised you haven't let your bloodthirsty urge take over" she let out.

His hand tightened suffocating her more, her eyes turning red as the tears fell.

"I would kill you right now but that would destroy my relationship with Alex so count yourself lucky. I only came here to tell you one thing..." his eyes turned into slits, "Don't ever.... his hand squeezed more... I mean cover or think of hurting either Alex or her mother ever again., do you hear me?"

She could feel the last gasps of air leave her body and Nathan didn't seem to want to back off either.

"Boss, she's choking," Roy said.

Nathan sighed and moved back releasing her neck. He sat back down fixing his suit.

"You know am surprised you gave birth to Cynthia, she's nothing like you, maybe she took after her father. I don't care if you control your daughter but stay away from Alex or her mother" he said to the coughing woman.

She watched him get up and say something to the suited men then leave.

Roy glanced at her, and she flinched. His eyes were cold like his boss but something warm, sad, or pitiful was in them too.

"I hope your daughter doesn't feel bad about what is going to happen to you," he said then followed his boss.

She frowned but the moment the men closed the door after them she knew what was coming next as they walked back to her.

Nathan and Roy with Becca walked back to the operation area where he had left his family.

They all waited silently, and soon the doors opened, Alex was wheeled out on the hospital bed.

Their eyes all landed on Alex who seemed to be sleeping.

"Doctor? "Nathan turned to him.

"Are you her family? "he asked.

"Yes, am her mother "Rosa said

"Boyfriend's father "Nathan's father let out.

"Her boyfriend, "he said next.

"And close friends but also his employees "Roy and Becca added

The doctor chuckled," A yes would have done. The operation went smoothly so she will be fine "

Her mother breathed," Thank you so much Doctor "she cried.

"Welcome "he smiled.

They had been shown to her room, her pale face and closed eyes with her connected to machines scared them.

Rosa turned and hugged Nathan, "Mother you should go lay down now Alex is out of danger, "he said.

"Am fine dear, I can hold on" she answered.

Nathan turned to his father, "Dad please take Mom back to rest and later she can come and see Alex again when she wakes up"

George nodded gently holding Rosa's hand, "Come on honey let's go have some rest, we don't want to get sick also and make Alex worry"

Rosa sighed giving her daughter one last glance then followed Nathan's father out.

Becca moved closer to her boss, "Was it me or did the old master call Alex's mother honey" she whispered.

Nathan frowned and glanced at her, "If your free go back to the company & do some work".

Becca smirked turning to Roy, "Hi, did you hear what he said".

Roy glanced at Nathan and chuckled, "Mmm, but I think we should leave now". He bent down to the bed holding Cynthia's hand who was silent next to her sister. She got up and followed him.

Becca snorted following Roy out.
