"Are you going to the party with us this Friday?" Cynthia asked her sister.

"I can't cause I wasn't invited, my name isn't on the invited list" she answered.

"But that is not right, it's your boyfriend's father's birthday. You're supposed to be invited"

"His not my boyfriend and am okay with not going. You know I don't like social gatherings" she said.

"I know you just don't like the dress-up and make-up part cause you find it exhausting. You don't even want to put on make-up here at work" Cynthia let out.

"You guys just go I will send my first through you," she said.

"Why not your boyfriend, it's his father's birthday," said Cynthia

"Because he's been so busy lately that I haven't seen him for days and his not my BOYFRIEND! " she pinched her sister and walked away.

Alex grabbed a taxi back home after work on Friday since the family would be at the party she decided to go spend time with her mother.

"Mom is home" she announced. "

"Honey, welcome "her mother smiled holding her in her arms.

She closed her eyes and took in her mother's scent as she held her close.

"I have missed you "she murmured.

"Missed you too, sweetheart," her mother said.

They sat down in the kitchen and chatted while her mother made dinner for them.

"You're not going to the party? "she asked.

"No, I had to be with an invitation, "she said.

"Oh, it's good you didn't go, we can spend some time together, you have been so distant "her mother pulled her cheeks.

"Mama am sorry I will try to make time for now I promise "
