"We escaped!" Xu Hexian cheered, as he doubled over, hands on his knees for support.
After hours oh walking through the woods and weaving around the mountain path with Hui Moxiang guiding the way, they had found a sufficient spot to catch a breath.
"Hey now!" the demon chirped as she descended from the sky, her raven body enveloped in a soft light as she transformed back into a young female appearance. "I wouldn't relax just yet if I were you. There are scouts and watches everywhere, you know?"
Xu Zhemu paled, looking up with his face wet with spring water. He looked rather ghastly and the worse for wear out of them all.
Xu Hexian patted his cousin's back and shot the little demon a pointing expression, "I mean, at least we can afford to catch our breath here. We're safe for now aren't we?"
Hui Moxiang shrugged, "Yup, for now."
