Everyone's an Accomplice

Gu Xin Ye flinched in her seat upon hearing his voice. She watched as Qin Zhan continued to yell and curse those men in suits and grew very frightened.

No wonder that everyone she sent over to talk to Qin Zhan had returned with their faces looking as if they were about to burst into tears. They were probably get yelled at just like everyone else.

Gu Xin Ye had the premonition that, if she had approached Qin Zhan right now and mentioned a word about a job offer, she would be shouted at just like the others.

At that moment, she weights her decision whether to stay around or flee.

But once her gaze stopped at one of those men in suits, Gu Xin Ye let out a gasp and pulled down her hair to cover her face in an attempt to hide.

Gu Xin Ye had recognized one of those men as the HR Manager of Ming Hotel Group. If that man noticed her and come over to talk to her, then she would be in deep trouble. Perhaps, she would have to return to the Capital City without reaching her goal!

Various thoughts crossed her mind. In the end, Gu Xin Ye decided to return to the B&B, and maybe come back to talk to Qin Zhan the next time.

Judging from Qin Zhan's temper just now, she could be chased away. But, she did not want to return to the City before she can say a word to Qin Zhan.

However, before she could make a run, the teenage girl had appeared beside her with an apologetic expression.

"Sorry. Sorry. Please don't leave before you tried our noodle," the teenage girl let out a nervous laugh. She turned and shot Qin Zhan a murderous look, but when she turned to the customers again, the hostile look on her face quickly disappeared and was replaced by a warm smile. "Old Bei, Old Qian. Sorry. This yelling and shouting have become a regular thing. Haha."

Gu Xin Ye turned to the table beside her where two old men were sitting around. Judging from the way they were dressed, and the fishing tools beside them, Gu Xin Ye thought that those old men probably come around to have some noodles before they go fishing in the sea.

"It's fine, Luo Qi" one of the elder men waved his hand. "After a few times witnessing the same thing, we have gotten used to it."

"To apologize for this disturbance, I'm going to add more meat to your noodles, how about that?" the teenage girl called Luo Qi, offered.

The group of old men laughed happily before one of them turned to Gu Xin Ye. "Young Miss," the old man with bald head spoke. "I haven't seen you around before. Are you here to visit this small town?"

Gu Xin Ye nodded while trying to hide her face from the HR Manager.

"You don't have to be scared. This scene happened every day," the bald old man continued. "Qin Zhan will only get hot-tempered towards those people who wanted him to return to the Capital, he won't yell at the customers who came to enjoy the beef noodle soup like us."

Gu Xin Ye turned at Qin Zhan and watched everything through her long hair.

The HR Manager from Ming Hotel did not look as if he was about to give up anytime soon. He continued to speak with a bright smile on his face, while Qin Zhan had a look of impatience on his face.

Suddenly, Gu Xin Ye noticed that Qin Zhan lifted his head with an eerie smile on his face. But, instead of yelling at those men in suits, Qin Zhan turned around and walked towards the noodle stand. Without warning, Qin Zhan reached for the cleaver on the chopping board and turned to the men in suits.

Immediately, those men in suits started to tremble. Everyone scattered to run towards their car to escape. However, the HR Manager from Ming Hotel had stayed. Although his hands were slightly trembling, the smile on his face stayed the same. Certainly, he was someone who had stayed in the hospitality industry for years. Despite everything he was facing, he did not forget to smile.

"Mister Su, you better leave me alone when I asked you nicely," Qin Zhan said as he gripped at the cleaver tightly. "I told you that I will not work for your hotel despite how much you're going to offer me."

"Chef Qin, you better look at the offer we have prepared," the HR Manager said. "Money isn't the only thing we're offering to you. Have you looked at the incentive? If you're not satisfied with that, you can tell us what you need. Whatever it is, we will try to accommodate you."

Qin Zhan took a step closer to the HR Manager. "I'll tell you what I need. I need you to get off from here and leave me alone."

"Chef Qin..."

"Still not going?" Qin Zhan raised a brow threateningly.

The HR Manager called Mister Su glanced at the chopper in Qin Zhan's hand. He swallowed and continued to force a smile on his face. "You can't be serious about harming me. If anything happened, I will sue you."

Qin Zhan let out a chuckle. "Before you sue me for harming you, you need evidence and a witness. And you, Mister Su, have no witness here."

Mister Su's smiled. He turned to the group of customers in the noodle stands and shouted. "Everyone, you all be my witness. You see what he's trying to do to me right?"

Hearing the questions, the two elder men tilted up their heads to the sky, as if to enjoy the blue sky.

"Old Qian," the balded man poked at his friend's arms. "Did you hear anything?"

"I don't know, Old Bei," the man in white hair answered. "That's probably some dogs barking."

Meanwhile, Gu Xin Ye continued to hide behind her hair, hoping that the HR Manager won't spare a glance at her.

Seeing everyone had refused to cooperate with him, Mister Su frowned. He tightened his hand into a fist, and the smile on his face gradually disappeared. "I will call the police!"

"You're calling the police?" the balded old man, known as Old Bei stood up from his seat. He took out a badge from his jacket and walked over to both Qin Zhan and Mister Su. "I'm the police. What are you going to do?"

Mister Su studied the badge in Old Bei's hand and his face turned darker. He then realized that no one in this town will help him if Qin Zhan decided to harm him. Everyone was an accomplice to QIn Zhan! With that thought, Mister Su turned away in anger and left in his car.

Once the car was out of everyone's eyesight, everyone in the noodle stand started to clap their hands happily.

Gu Xin Ye watched everything around her in a daze. Somehow, she felt as if she was a part of a filming crew and she happened to be one of the extras. Before she could properly sort out her mind, the teenage girl stood before her. "Miss, what are you having?"
