Chapter 4

"Miss thank you for helping us, if you don't mind I would like to ask for your name" a knight who seemed like the leader came to Rietta.

"Rietta and I was going to the capital hoping I could get into the army, so of course I would help you sirs"

The white armored knights were royal guards but not the elite knights directly controlled by the emperor. After knowing her wish of entering the army everyone become more welcoming.

"Then how about we travel together? Knowing miss Rietta's strength your assistance would be a big help"

Of course Rietta would not refuse. They traveled for three days and finally reached the capital city of Averik empire, Ashberg.

Ashberg was a big city with a population of 10 million citizens.

And today was the day, the army would reqruit new soldiers. The captain of the white knights squad Oliver personally quieted her to the recruitment site which shocked the examiners.

There was big difference between a normal soldiers and a royal guard. So even without examining they took her in. It's fine since she would be just a soldier anyway but this newbie definitely should not be offended. Every examiners thought she got a background.

After becoming strong enough Rietta had no intention of working hard and train like those soldiers.

So the trainers soon found out there would always be one person missing from the training ground. And the said person would always be on top of some tree branch sleeping like nothing's wrong.

At first they were angry that a newbie was this disrespectful, but after they personally saw Rietta cutting the thoughest mana infused training dummy in half with one hand, they acted blind even if they saw her sleeping without a care in the world.

Some soldiers even started a rumor that she was a sword master who's just fooling around. Maybe she was just too bored that she decided to come here and experience common soldiers life.

The rumors were both true and false. Rietta was a true sword master and she was bored but the reason she came here was for the salary and authority. Since becoming a soldier no one was stupid enough to trouble her beautiful self.

These days Rietta went on a few patrols. Drank till she was wasted. She was a well known pretty lady among the pubs regulars.

But because she was blowing all her money on alcohol too quickly she soon went broke. But fortunately a swordsmanship tournament was going to be held next week. The prize money was 1000 gold coins which was equal to her 5 years salary.

But she never expected soon she would catch the emperors attention after the tournament
