Deal With The Devil (3)

"Lin Minyi." Ronald announced in an monotonous voice.

The woman, who was absolutely horrified to hear the name Lin Minyi come out of Ronald's mouth, quickly signaled the subordinate standing behind Ronald, who was actually ranked #36 on the Titans list, to leave immediately.

"Speak, where did you learn that name from. You better give me a satisfactory answer or else... I will murder your entire family infront of your very own eyes." After sending her subordinate off and making sure that nobody else was easedropping on them, the woman stated in a intimidating tone.

Ronald didn't immediately reply back after hearing her threatening tone, but just silently looked at the woman for a couple of seconds with a sinister smile on his face.

"Lin Minyi, aged 30. Born in China and is a pure-blooded Chinese. Had two sisters and one brother but lost one of the sister and brother due to some unfortunate and unseen circumstances. Father's name is Lin Bo, who had died at the age of 67. Mother's name is Lin Jing, who had died at the age of 61."

Ronald then paused for a second, just like the woman had previously done, and then continued speaking.

"The Lin family, a once prominent and noteworthy major family in one of the cities in China. However, due to the fact that the father, Lin Bo, had accidentally offended someone he couldn't afford to offend, the entire family and lineage had disappeared from the surfaces of this world in just a span of one week. Since the perpetrator didn't thoroughly do his research however, he was completely unaware that he had left two of the daughters of the Lin family alive."

"Lin Minyi, who was the older sister out of the two, swore an oath to get revenge on the perpetrator, and then started to train continously day and night whilst properly taking care of the younger sister and teaching her a few defense techniques here and there. Then after training for 10 years later, Lin Minyi had gotten so strong that she could destroy structures made out of bricks with just a single punch, climb to the top of the highest mountain in just a few minutes, and can even use everyday items like chopsticks as weapons."

"So with this new profound power she had desperately worked so hard for, she decided to extract her revenge and went on a wild goose chase to find the perpetrator and end the saga once and for all, leaving the younger sister who had just turned 18 and became an adult, alone."

"The younger sister, who loved her older sister dearly, couldn't wait in the house any longer, and so after a long year of waiting, the younger sister decided to get out of her comfort zone, and went to search for the older sister."

"As the days had turned to weeks, and weeks had turned to months, the younger sister, who had desperately tried everything she could, had started to lose hope and assumed that the older sister was dead."

"But as the younger sister had started to make her way back home however, she had noticed a heavily injured woman laying on the rock at a nearby waterfall, which by chance ended up being the older sister that she had longed for."

"So the young sister quickly brought the older sister back home, and spent the next couple of months nutritioning her back to health."

"However, no matter how long the younger sister spent taking care of her, the older sister just couldn't move at all, and at most, only open her eyes."

"So after seeking help from the best doctors in China, it was revealed that not only was the older sister completely paralyzed besides her eyelids, but she also contracted an extremely rare disease. A disease so rare in fact, that she was allowed to even name it."

"The disease, which was left unnamed, was a disease that once contracted, would slowly start to rot and decay out all of the organs, intestines, and neurons from the person."

"And now, Lin Minyi has to live out the rest of her entire life on a wheelchair in agony until she succumbs to her death." Ronald then sat there calmly and awaited for the woman's next words.

Upon hearing the entire story that Ronald had told, the woman couldn't help but heavily tremble on her seat and tried her best to compose herself, but to no avail.

"THAT'S SUPPOSE TO BE A DEEP SECRET! HOW YOU KNOW ALL OF THIS?!" The woman yelled at the top of her lungs and stared at Ronald with bloodshot eyes.

The reason why the woman was so enraged by Ronald's story was because she was actually the younger sister in that story.

However, she wasn't mad about the fact that she had to listen to that entire story again.

It was the fact that Ronald somehow knew the exact events of everything that had lead up to her older sister's paralysis.

Not once in her entire life had she told the story to anyone else besides one other person.

And her older sister most certainly couldn't of have told him.

Upon hearing the question being asked, Ronald started to reminisce about the past.

The reason how Ronald knew all about Lin Minyi and the younger sister's past was because...

'I murdered her in cold blood.'

To be exact, he only killed the younger sister and not Lin Minyi, the older sister.

But before he had murdered the younger sister though, in a desperate attempt to gain some pity from Ronald and get him to spare her life or something like that, the younger sister had told him everything that had happened throughout her lifetime and why she really needed to stay alive.

Of course, Ronald at the time didn't really care about the younger sister's life story and just ended her on the spot after she had finished her story.

Thinking back at it now, Ronald honestly felt somewhat bad for her.

So that raises the question, what exactly did the younger sister do in order to make Ronald kill her?

'She murdered my pet dog.'

'And for a stupid reason at that.'

The reason why she had murdered his pet dog was because it had licked her once when they had walked past each other at a hotel resort.

That's right, that stupid fucking reason was the reason why she killed his dog.

'Well compared to the things that some others have done, this is nothing at all.'

Nevertheless, that's all in the past now, and Ronald doesn't really intend to get fond of anything else in this world.

"A deep secret, the practice of hiding information that is usually extremely private and confidential, that can usually be used against the individual hiding the information if any other indivdual knows about it. As such, the information is usually only known to the individual trying to hide the information to themselves. That's what a deep secret is." Ronald stated in a informative but sharp tone.

"The moment someone's deep secret has been revealed to another individual, it's not really considered a deep secret anymore, just a secret that is shared amongst others."

"Do you understand what I'm trying to imply here?" Ronald then showed a meaningful look on his face.

However, since the woman just continued sitting there while staring at him with bloodshot eyes without moving a single inch, Ronald took it as a no.

"Ranked number 7 on the Divine List, codenamed The Golden Cobra. You're currently working for him, aren't you?" Ronald announced.

"...You're right." Since Ronald practically could accurately state every single detail that had led up to her sister becoming immobilized, she wasn't too surprised that Ronald knew about her interaction with The Golden Cobra to begin with.

The reason why she's working for 'The Golden Cobra' to begin with wasn't because he was much more powerful than her and she was willing to follow in his footsteps.

It was because of one thing, and one thing only.

She got fooled into thinking that he had the antidote to cure Lin Minyi's disease.

That's right, about a couple of years ago right after her older sister had gotten diagnosed with the extremely rare disease, she had became so desperate to find a cure for her older sister that she had started to scour through the entire world trying to find either someone or something that can help her cure her sister.

But even after spending a couple of years desperately traveling the entire world trying to find a cure for her sister, she couldn't find anything at all.

It wasn't until one day that someone on the Divine List, more specifically, The Golden Cobra, had managed to catch wind of her desperation and offered her to help with whatever it is she needed.

And since The Golden Cobra was renowned for being able to cure some of the most incurable diseases out there and having the ability to kill anyone that has a physique as strong as a dragon, she truly believed that he could cure her older sister as well.

So she slowly started to opened up to The Golden Cobra everything about her older sister and why she really wanted a cure for her.

And under the pretense and promise that he was going to fully cure her sister, he told her to work for him.

But now it's been 4 years since that interaction, and not only has The Golden Cobra not manage to cure her older sister at all, but he's also kept her older sister as a captive!

And since she was just someone on the Celestial list, and he was someone on the Divine list, she just had to grit her teeth and continuing following his orders so that her sister won't die.

Of course, she had also tried conspiring with other people from the 3 lists to take him down, but the thing was that even though he was on the list of Divines, since it was rumored that he could create drugs and or posion apparently strong enough to kill people from the list of Immortals, nobody wanted to lend her a helping hand.

"You know, I've been thinking about it for awhile, but I can't quite put my finger on it, why is it that you had decided to trust The Golden Cobra so easily even though you were completely aware of his true natures?" Seeing the random mood swings that the woman was having, Ronald decided that he was going to hit her where it will hurt most.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean, as an assassin from the Celestial's list yourself, shouldn't you know not to easily trust someone? But yet you trusted someone, on the Divine list no less, to cure your sister?" Ronald asked.

"B-but he could cure any dis-" Before the woman could finish her sentence however...

"You're the reason why Lin Minyi is suffering right now." Ronald said in a stern tone.

"I-I'm not! H-he's the one tha-"

"You really shouldn't be blaming anyone else other than yourself."

"But it's really not my fault!"

"Lin Minyi, your sister, and the one who truly loved you dearly. All she ever wanted to do after she had became crippled was to be able to spend the rest of her gruesome days opening up her eyes and being able to see her lovely and beautiful younger sister every day."

"..."

"But yet, her stupid and gulible younger sister just had to try and make a deal with the wrong people."

"..."

"And because of it, she has to suffer the consequences of waking up to a lifeless white room, slowly counting the days as she sits there on her wheelchair and rots away in her confinement room."

"..."

"And the one who had gotten her in there, was you."

"Stop it…"

"You're the reason why she's currently suffering."

"I said stop it."

"And guess what, due to the fact that she's been trapped in that hellhole for so many years, your sister's body is nothing but just an empty husk. She's been long dead for awhile now, but look at you, still trying to save her."

"I GET IT!"

"The ones who killed your older sister wasn't the perpetrator who had murdered your entire family, or The Golden Cobra, who had placed your older sister in that place."

"SHUT THE HELL UP! PLEASE!"

"It was you all along. All of the conseque-"

""PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP! PLEASE! I GET IT! IT WAS MY FAULT! I'M SORRY!" The woman couldn't help but start to burst down and started crying while covering up her entire face with both of her hands.

Even though the woman didn't want to accept it, Ronald was completely right.

The reason why Lin Minyi was trapped and being held captive in a confinement room right now was all because of herself, the younger sister's actions!

But what else could she had done?

She had no friends, nobody to trust, nobody to rely on, and her only 1 family member was suffering because of her actions.

"SO WHAT THE HELL ELSE AM I SUPPOSE TO DO!?" The woman screamed on the top of her lungs and angrily looked at Ronald with eyes like a dead fish.

Ronald couldn't help but slightly get taken aback the moment he saw the woman's face again.

Why?

'Because of those eyes.'

He was way too familiar with the kind of look the woman had in her eyes.

The only time when someone would display the same kind of look that the woman had in her eyes was if someone was feeling absolutely helpless, had nobody to rely on, and had absolutely nothing else to lose from that point on.

And those people were typically the most dangerous people in this world.

As the saying goes, never fight a man that has nothing to lose.

To be honest, when Ronald had first decided to try and break the woman's psychological defenses, he just genuinely thought that by being able to do so, he was going to be able to convince the woman to help solve his problems with the people in daoist robes.

But now that the plan has backfired, if he wanted to still seek help from the woman, he knew that he had to do something for her that'll calm her down.

So after thinking about it for awhile however...

"You know, the reason why I had told you all of that stuff wasn't because I wanted to make you upset or feel regretful of what you did, but to give you an opportunity." Ronald decided to maintain his malicious voice.

"An opportunity...?" Hearing what Ronald had mentioned, the woman calmed down a bit and asked in a perplexed tone.

"That's right, an opportunity to unbind yourself from The Golden Cobra's shackles and change both you and your sister's fate." Ronald then took a deep breath before stating his next sentence.

"I will cure your sister."
