Chapter 7: Necromancer was hidden in the snow mountain
Since Vis got mistaken as an esteemed one, he decided to ask a few questions that would accelerate his progress.
He asked first about Necromancers as he needed to have proper knowledge about them. There were many stories about those people and each varied highly.
Some people said that Necromancers were victims of Soul Collector. Their souls were not tasty and he just resurrected them as undead. Such people were forced to hide from the sun and live in the deepest parts of each continent.
It was kinda false, but Vis believed that each story had a little truth to it.
"So for you, the necromancers are the Soul Collector's victims… Any other version?" Vis asked and one of the hunters awkwardly spoke.
He seemed terrified by the number of wolves in the cave, "I heard… that Necromancers are people who have stopped Soul Collector from snatching their souls and become the undead as reward…"
"Fair." Vis replied, "What about my second question?" If there was any abnormality in the snow forest or vicinity, Vis would gladly search for it and strengthen himself.
The best way to do so would be by constantly engaging in dangerous situations. In such a case, Vis would use as much of his power as possible and it would push his body to the limits, increasing his strength in the process.
The strong enemies also could become the member of his army.
Because Vis had two abilities awakened now, he personally called his army Undead Titan Army. There was only one skeleton in this army, though.
"That's… On the other side of the mountain, our neighbors have yelled their heads off about unnatural laziness and drowsiness that often led them to coma… We haven't heard anything from them lately because of the snowstorms getting stronger." The leader replied with a confused expression.
He didn't know whether other villagers had lied to him, so he bowed and apologized in advance.
Vis just raised his hand to make him raise, "Thanks for your help."
It was time to leave the cave and move forward.
Vis had nothing on his body and even his clothes were torn, not usable at all. That was why he asked for more simple questions such as the closest village, the villager's lifestyle, and any person he should be careful with.
Villagers were often excluded from the world's matter, so the answers weren't that satisfying.
All that Vis got was awkward smiles and laughs from hunters, "Our village sells comfy and warm clothes for hunters. If the esteemed would like to get some, then please visit our village. Our village head will surely present you with the best quality one!"
"Yeah, I need clothes. Let me help you." Vis agreed, his hands raising two wolves straight onto his shoulders.
The hunters happily extended their hands to get other dead wolves onto their shoulders and everyone including Vis followed Jushe to the village.
Later on, Vis learned about the road and used his speed to bring more wolves to the village. He kept his abilities hidden as any stronger opponent would be able to spy on him. His abilities were unusual but new and weak.
This went for his instincts as everything needed honing.
"Thank you, the esteemed one!" Every hunter and their families bowed and thanked him at the end.
"Don't forget to keep your skills active." Vis waved his hand and disappeared from their sight.

Clad in thick and warm clothes, Vis followed the road and spent roughly a week here.
He hunted on the beasts lurking around the snowy forest with his raw strength for food. Since his visit to the village, Vis had been enjoying the cooked meat as he also prepared enough stuff to make a bonfire and simple camp.
The warm clothes were like blankets and piles of snow acted like a bed for the nights.
After a week passed, Vis managed to find the village haunted by an unusual phenomenon.
At this point, even villagers began to suspect that someone had been playing or using them as experiment tools.
Their cautiousness was raised to the extreme and one could see many villagers on the watch.
Their shabby walls had a lot of holes, however, allowing Vis to just enter the village from the side. He shook the snow off his body and penetrated deeper into one of the houses.
'It's pointless to speak with them.' Vis thought while invading someone's privacy. He entered the house silently, then went up to the attic.
His goal was just to check people while they slept. Since villagers here had no way of dealing with the unusual phenomenon, Vis didn't even bother speaking with them. He also would need to prove himself which would just waste his time.
He just took one good place in the attic, then waited for the night to come.
However, not even night was required for the unusual phenomenon to take the place.
From the attic, Vis noticed one of the villagers wobbling on the road. This person looked like a drunkard, but he was surely influenced by an unusual phenomenon.
Why? Because Vis could see the pure dark mist swirling around the villager's head.
"I see… It gives off a different kind of feeling, but the origin should be the same." It was energy similar to that of Soul Collector, but the difference was clear. It was not only the color but just the vibes.
Vis seized the villager and brought him back to the attic.
Now, there were two invaders!
"Let's see…" He put his hand on the man's sleeping face, then the black mist began to violently shake. A few groans escaped the man's mouth, but Vis covered this man's lips with his hand, then continued to check on the black mist.
"Trying to fight me?" He whispered, his own energies somewhat reacting to this black mist.
However, Vis was inexperienced and needed much more than just simple will to seize the black mist and find the source.
His hand turned black, then the deathly energy of Soul Collector's servant began to materialize, "I will… find you."
The clash between two types of black energy looked like a spar between two small snakes. It lasted so long that Vis' eyes sank and dark circles appeared beneath his eyes.
He was also exhausted by the constant battle without any clear direction. Basically, his goal was to just eat the other energy and dominate it, but the other snake was like a slippery beast with its experience.
It also attacked back!
Unfortunately for him, Vis had no teacher or any other guidance! His strong will and desire to repeat things over and over allowed him to beat the snake in the end.
But by this time, the owner of the house found him.
"What's with this noise- Y-You?! Who are you?! Let him go! You thief!" The owner shouted loudly, then raised his hands. He was shaking, though.
'Must be a farmer…' Vis uttered, his eyes looking heavier due to the black circles.
He slowly raised his body and said, "My apologies. I haven't stolen anything nor have I peeked at your family… If you could, step aside."
"I... I will believe you!" Vis' eyes were just too heavy for the villager to deal with. He spoke with his legs trembling, then made a way for Vis to leave the house. After the short man disappeared from his house, the owner rushed to check on the villager who had already been in a coma.
