Ancestors

'F*ck'

Cursing inwardly, Sam ducked and hid behind the counter as he stared at the mirror reflecting the whole store, as he saw a dark figure in a small amount of cloth walk slowly inside. Remembering that these invaders were classified as 'Ancestors' by the UN, but why? Being able to see the machete in its hand, Sam couldn't help but think of the Ancestor being familiar, but at the same time fear rising inside of him as he could distinctly remember plenty of people he saw and knew being killed by them.

Trying to figure out how to escape, Sam spotted it getting closer and closer by the clock. In panic, he hit a bottle with his foot tripping, while the bottle started to make clanging noises near him.

'Sh*t, I've somehow screwed a god's daughter in my past life or something!'

Hearing the noise, the Ancestor made an attack to the area where the noise had been coming from. As if it's arms had extended, the Ancestor was able to cleave an area of 3 meters with just one slash of his machete as heavy breaths started to rise off of it.#

"Wtf?" Seeing the 3 meter long mark on the ground and destroyed glass bottle, Sam realized that these Ancestors weren't normal people. Knowing that if he tried to make a run for it, he'd immediately get slashed even if he made a distance between him and the Ancestor. Sam started to devise a plan. Seeing that his only way was to make a loud distraction, in order to gain time for his escape, he started looking around till he saw a fire alarm. With less time in his hands, he smashed on the fire alarm, bringing out a loud noise echoing across the whole store.

BBRREE BREEE

With the noise booming across the store, the Ancestor dropped its weapon and started covering its ears in pain as the noise blasted through his eardrums. As an opportunity had arisen when the weapon was released from the Ancestors hands, Sam started changing plans and instead of running out of the store, he dashed for the weapon in front of the Ancestor, grabbing it within the second.

BOOM

Raising with joy as he imagined to be in possession of the weapon, he started to feel a pain in his lower leg. Looking down, he could see his left leg in an unnatural form as he started to scream in pain on the ground. Not being able to get up, all Sam could do was glare at the Ancestor who had regain its posture with a machete intending to pierce his skull.

'I'm sorry Zach...' Being able to stay awake due to the pain, he closed his eyes as the Ancestor glided his machete down towards him.

*Bang*

Noticing nothing had happened to him, Sam opened his eyes once more and was able to see the Ancestor with a bullet in his head topple to the ground. Screaming with joy in his head, he didn't notice a green energy come out of the dead body and into him. While knowing that Sam wouldn't die, he saw several soldiers rush in the store confirming the Ancestor had died.

"Ancestor has been neutralized, confirmed kill to Base." One of the soldiers began to speak into the radio on his uniform. "There seems to be an injured kid here, what do we do with him?"

"Bring him in, if he's heavily injured, he will need treatment ASAP."

"Yes Sir!" Seeing the soldier pick him up, Sam began to scream in his head to go get Zach, but he didn't have the energy to as he started to faint in slumber...

'Zach...'

The soldiers started leaving the area in route to the temporary base set up in Manila.

"Damn it! We got to hurry now, several Ancestors are heading in this direction through the alleyway because of the alarm that was set here. There's too many, move out."

As the soldiers left, mass amounts of Ancestors had rushed through the alleyway while a lone sleeping boy was sleeping in the corner of a room without knowing what would happen to him or his brother who had just left.

----

Somewhere with no origin...

"How is Phase one going?" An unidentifiable figure which could not be seen by the naked eye, asked towards a lit fire in the empty origin. "It is going as you planned it, there is no complications happening except a small singularity but it seems like we'll be able to spark the start of Phase 2 sooner than we have expected."

"Good besides the singularity, it will be no problem to fix I'm assuming, we'll continue with Phase 1 with how it is according to plan. May the Eras Of Continuation Climb The Timeline!"

"May the Eras Of Continuation Climb The Timeline!"

----

Waking up inside of a tent, Sam could still feel the pain in his lower leg, but not as bad as before. Seeing several other injured piled next to him, he began to realize that he was at the Military Camp where the soldiers had come from. As he began to sit up, several figures who were outside began to notice him wake up and started approaching him.

"How are you feeling?" A slender female dawned in white clothes which resembled a nurse had confronted him. "I'm doing better now, but still a bit dizzy after fainting."

"Do not worry, that is only natural and you'll only need a few hours of rest while you stay here." The kind nurse replying. "Do you need anything while you rest.. ugh?"

"Sam, my names Sam Heart. And yes, I'd like to know where the soldiers took my brother to." Remembering his brother still in the room, he sighed in relief that soldiers had come. The nurse looking at Sam confused but then with pity said. "I'm sorry Sam, but no one else had been brought, It was only you who had made it here, while the place we found you had suddenly been infested by the Ancestors. There was nothing else we could do. I'll leave you here to rest a bit."

With the nurse leaving the room, she could only pity as she saw the young boy look down at his leg in shock and disbelief, then into rage and sadness. Plenty emotions had struck Sam.

'What? I didn't hear that properly right? Zach isn't here? No no there's no way, he is here I was right by him!' With the information that he had found out, Sam had been thinking senselessly and jumped off his bed and started dashing out of the tent, beginning to shout his younger brother, Zach's name in fear and sadness.

The nurse seeing Sam reacting mentally ill, she started shouting for the soldiers to confine Sam as he was to mentally broken with his major loss of his brother.

"NO! NO! He's here I swear! His name is Zach Heart! Please, where are you ZACH!!" Screaming at the top of his lungs, with his still broken leg he tripped and was knocked unconscious once more, but this time, in sadness...
