With a sigh, August unleashed his sword warning Brehen, "Don't start the conflict"
"Or what?" said Brehen slightly mocking August.
"What do you want to achieve by that?" Inquired August, he still didn't understand the behaviours of the witcher, usually, it is hard to make them pissed.
But this man in front of him was easy to provoke, it is hard to imagine him being a witcher since with every mission he gets, he might get angry for no good reason at all and go on the rampage.
Brehen dashed at August, without hesitation he directed his sword in August's direction, trying to slash his head off.
Parrying the attack, August counter-attacked, trying to slash him across the belly, which Brehen avoided once again curveting back.
They engaged in the battle, with their swords clanging and clashing, making the crowd around cheer and shout in amusement the battle. It didn't look like it was simple sparring, but soldiers thought it was a setup that they were following that looked quite good.
However, the fight was real.
August decided to knock him unconscious before the matter went too far.
Pushing Brehen with powerful blows, slowly cornering him, August started a fatal blow that Brehen had to avoid in order to survive, but the slash was just a distraction.
Forcing Brehen to make another curvet back, August created a sign Aard pushing him further on the crowd of soldiers that all were dressed in the metal armour, making him smash his head a bit.
While Brehen lost concentration, August arrived close to him and knocked him on the back of the head with the hilt of his sword. Making him fall to the ground unconscious.
Looking around at the crowd whose cheers died down he said "Show is ended, go away and do your own thing"
August picked up the unconscious body of Brehen by the collar and dragged him to the area where nobody could see them. When they were further away from all the distractions, August used one of the potions that he brewed with a very intense smell to wake him up.
[With Francesca]
Francesca looked at the fight from afar, cursing under her breath. This was not something she was informed about, and that greatly frustrated her, since this was not something that she wanted to see.
She thought 'Why did nobody inform me of sending this failed experiment to assist me? I don't get it, everything I have planned might go to waste. Shit, I need to deal with that mess.
I swear if he ruins everything that I did, I will burn him to crisp'
[With August]
"Wake up," said August to a Witcher who had cloudy eyes.
Slowly opening his eyes, Brehen looked around, trying to understand where he is. Trying to move his legs and arms proved to be not possible. They were tied with a rope.
From below, he looked at August's eyes, as the fire of anger flared upon his face.
"What are you doing here?" inquired August, adding, "I got no information about you being here assisting me in the task."
Trying to spit on August's face, Brehan said "It's me who didn't hear about you being here. I need no assistance in simple assassination! I can do everything by myself"
"So assassination?" Inquired August.
"Interesting," muttered August, observing struggling Brehen that was tied up.
"Assassinating who?" continued August.
Gritting his teeth, Brehen spat "Your dirty ass!"
Nodding his head, August said, "So Baldwin"
"Anyway, with that is out of the way. Let's talk about something that got me curious. Why are you so impulsive? I don't want to kill another Witcher, there are a few of us left in the world, it would be a pity to kill one of my kin, but I won't hesitate if you continue with your kind of actions." said August.
That silenced Brehen. Being emotional was his thing, being sadistic was as well, but being killed is something he didn't wish for.
The emotion of being scared for his life was higher than the emotion of being angry. But it didn't change the fact that he will be rude.
"The same reason you got your pretty eyes!" said Brehen with a smirk on his face.
"So there are such side effects? Well, I'm glad I got only eyes and not all of this," replied August gesturing towards Brehen.
While August was talking to Brehen, he heard someone approaching him. Turning around in the direction of the sounds, August spotted Baldwin coming his way.
"August, what is happening here? I demand an explanation!" said Baldwin in a serious tone, being in a bad mood.
With an annoyed face, August replied, "Cut this crap with me, I'm not one of the dogs that serve you"
Baldwin wanted to say something, but before he could do something, his face changed some change, just showing some confusion and sadness.
"Sorry, the things that I figured out got me in the bad shape," said Baldwin with slight shame. " Anyway, sorry for that. I wanted to ask you about this accident that happened when you arrived at the camp. Is everything alright?" inquired Baldwin.
August nodded before saying, "I guess I have some useful information that I would like to talk about"
Baldwin inquired, "Something important?"
August just nodded his head.
"Then let's head out to my tent and talk there," said Baldwin.
August shook his head "I can't, we can't leave him alone. He might have some information"
"Then let's talk here," said Baldwin with a sigh.
August declined this offer.
"Alright, I will ask guards to look after him," offered Baldwin.
August agreed and when several soldiers came and took Brehen under their liability.
Both August and Baldwin walked towards Baldwin's tent to talk about the assassination order.
When they entered the tent and took a place behind a small table that was located in the middle. They started to talk.
"So what is that you were able to discover?" Inquired Baldwin.
August bluntly replied, "There is an assassination order on you"
"What? Wait, I thought they were after my father. Why would they target me?" said Baldwin with slight shock.
Before August could reply Baldwin added, "Yeah, of course" slapping his hand against his head he said, "I'm next in line, right? So they want to take control over Kovir and Povis by ending our family line on me as the last successor"
August just nodded in response.
"What should we do?" inquired Baldwin, being clueless about the situation solution and how he could stay alive.
"I was hired so you can stay safe. Other things are not part of my concern," replied August.
August left to get back and went towards Brehen to see if he could figure out more information from him about the source of the order.
