Chapter 48 John goes to Woodbury

When John woke up the next morning, he gathered a group of men and made a plan to bring Andrea back. John gathered, Daryl, Merle, Glen, T-dog, Travis, and 2 of the Androids, Tom and Jerry. The plan was to sneak in at night and take out any guards quietly, over the time John spent at the prison, he went out on supply runs frequently.

Each time he would bring back weapons and their attachment, armor, food, and other supplies. Meaning, John had brought back many automatic rifles and suppressors for them. This mission should be easy as shit.

With the plan set the team waited at the prison, spending time with their family. John had spent time with his women, and they were walking around. Maggie and Amy were extremely close to giving birth, so they walked around to quicken the process some. Alicia had been helping them every step of the way, and now that they were so close to their due date, John had the Android doctors close by. Nothing could or would happen while they were giving birth.

John spent his time with them, but time flew by quickly. It was late evening, around 5 when John left his women on their own. John walked over to the vehicle they would be using; it was a 10-foot black van. Inside there was a bag that had already been filled with the gear they would need. Inside the bag were 8 grey Mp5's with suppressors, 8 grey Glock 15's, 8 pairs of night vision goggles, and 8 tactical vests.

The group then geared up, now with matching equipment, they got in the truck. They ride was about 3 and a half hours before they saw the sign for the town of Woodbury. John parked the van in the middle of some trees, tonight was especially dark, the van was almost invisible. The moon was nowhere to be seen in the sky. The group got out of the van and checked their gear, making sure their guns were fully loaded and their extra magazines were also loaded.

When they had finished checking, the group began to walk through the woods. On the way, Glen whispered, "Walkers ahead."

Not wanting to waste any ammo, John walked forward with his modified baseball bat, "Betty". John swung his bat, hitting a walker in the throat, continuing the swing, John ripped the head clean off. John then swung again, smacking a biter in the head, blood and gore splattering on the floor. John knocked over another walker with a kick. Standing over it, John swung down and completely destroyed the walkers head, turning it to complete mush.

It looked like that was the last walker in the area, but suddenly a pack of 12 more walkers came walking over, attracted by the noise. As the group was about to use their guns, John said, "No. Saved the bullets, we only brought so many. We don't know what will happen when we get to Woodbury. Those bullets could save your life later."

The group hearing this pulled out their knives and began to kill the walkers. The walkers went down quickly as over the months at the prison, John had continued to teach weapon classes. Many of the group had gotten very good with melee combat. It helped that John had taken out three walkers, while the rest of the group only had to take out one, except for Daryl, he took two out.

With that out of the way the group continued through the foliage and a couple minutes later they come across a cabin in the woods. John kicks the door down before taking cover by the door, he then swiftly scanned the cabin, a shot gun went off, just inches from John face. Annoyed John pulled out his knife and stabbed the attacker in the gut. The man's guts came spilling out after John glided his knife across, John was pissed.

It was an old man, he looked like a hillbilly. When the rest of the group looked inside and saw the man on the floor, Glen said, "We should give him mercy." Glen then stepped forward, but John grabbed his shoulder.

John said coldly, "Let him turn." Glen was going to argue but he saw John's glare. John's glare was no ordinary glare, after all the lives he has taken, his eyes glowed a dark red when he was serious. It was almost like the "Sith from, Star Wars", but it was more of a glow than a color change.

Anyway, seeing these eyes, Glen backed down. John bent down and took the shotgun from the floor, he then turned around and walked out of the door. The group then followed him as they made their way to Woodbury.

After walking for another 30 minutes, they saw the back gate of Woodbury. There were only two guards and one of them was a woman, but even though, it would be easy to massacre everyone. John knew that wouldn't sit well with the rest of the group, so he said, "We go in from the side together. We find an area of the wall we can scale over. Then we take down anyone that sees us, try not to kill any civilians."

John then walked toward the side of the wall, making sure to stay out of sight. Walking behind some trees, next to a tipped over train, they made it right next to the wall. John jumped up and grabbed the edge of the wall. Pulling himself up, he looked around the area and saw he was behind an apartment building. There were clothes hanging on a drying rack, creating some cover for them.

John saw that the light was on, in the room closest to them. Looking one more time for any people, John climbed over after saying, "All clear. Follow me over, as quietly as possible."

Landing on the ground softly, John barely made any noise, his group came over after him and made a slight noise, but it was nothing major. John then used a sign, they walked over to the building and opened the door as quietly as possible, John then made a fan out sign. The group split up, going from room to room, tying and muzzling anyone that they found, it was easy since most people were asleep.

John went into the room with a light on, he looked around and saw a woman standing alone over a crib. Her back was towards him, John snuck up behind her and grabbed her, his hand covering her mouth, eliminating the possibility of a scream. The woman was shaking heavily, and she was crying, John could feel her warm tears hitting his hand, looking down John saw a little newborn baby boy.

John said, "Awe, how precious. Don't worry, I won't harm either of you. The Governor took someone and I need her back. I'm going to muzzle you, so you can't make noise. Then I'm gonna zip tie you to the crib, so you don't alert anyone. Please keep quiet because my men will kill everyone if we get exposed."

The woman nodded and whimpered and okay as John tied a pof cloth around her head, muzzling her mouth. John then zip tied her to the crib and rubbed her shoulder as he backed away. Before he could leave however, the baby woke up and started to move. John went over to the baby, under the fearful gaze of the woman and rubbed his head. This caused the lady to squirm, but John only rubbed the baby's head for a second and the baby was back to sleep. He then left the room, the woman gaze, now more favorable of John, seeing that he didn't hurt her baby.

John then left the room, entering the hallway once again and saw his whole group standing there, giving the "All clear" sign, John did the same before they went out the back of the building and moved to the next.

This time it was a house and in the back yard there was a dog, John made a soft whistle, and the dog came running over. John then grabbed the dog quickly, holding its mouth shut and blocking its airway. The dog passed out 30 seconds later and John let go, reaching into his pocket, John pulled out some sleeping pills and put them down the dog's throat. The dog would never wake up again, JK, the dog wouldn't wake up until the morning.

Half of John's team then split off and went into the house while John led the other half to another house. Like this the team secured all the houses in the walls, but there was no sign of Andrea. John then led then to the final building, this building had two guards, blocking the entrance. Seeing this, John decided to take out the guards on each gate first.

John sneakily led them over to the back gate first, there were three guards sitting on top. John then passed some tranquilizer darts to Daryl and Merle, who nodded. The three of them each held one, ready to throw, John signed, "3, 2, 1, 0". The three then threw the tranquilizer darts at the same time, all three of them hit the target in the neck. The guards jolted for a second before they passed out.

They then tied them up, not bothering to muzzle them as they would sleep till morning. John said, "Alright. Travis, you stay here and guard the gat, we don't want a herd busting through without our knowledge. If you see anything press the buttons on your Walkie three times and we will know something is wrong."

John then led his group over to the other gate and repeated the process, he left Glen there to guard that gate. They then made their way to the final building. Knowing that the building was guarded at the front entrance, they circled around back, from a distance. At the back door, they found a single guard, it was a female. John said, "I'll take care of her, circle around the front and take out those guards. We'll meet up in the lobby, then take the rest of the building as well."

The rest of the group nodded, then they circled around to the front once again. John walked over to the side of the building, looking around the corner. John saw that the lady was looking the other way, so he pulled his tactical knife out and snuck up behind her, covering her mouth with his left hand, John rested his blade on the girl's neck. She tried to resist by headbutting backward, but she only hit him in the shoulder. John pulled her head back and rested it on his shoulder, pushing the knife, with a little more force. Drawing blood, the girl stopped resisting feeling the cold blade on her skin, John said, "Stop, before I slit your throat and leave you to turn."

The girl nods slowly, John then asks, "How many people in the building?" The girl lifts her hand up slowly, holding up two fingers. John says, "Thank you, have a nice rest." John then puts the girl in a choke hold, she struggles for a second before she passed out. John then lay her on the ground gently and tied her hands. John then walked into the building; his group was waiting for him with confused expressions.

John said, "I questioned the guard, there are two people here. One of them has to be Andrea, unless she left. Let's go."

John then walked up the stairs with his group following him. Arriving at a door, John picked the lock. Opening the door and observing the room, John walked towards an open door, where he could see the corner of a bed. John walked into the room and saw a naked Andrea sleeping, while sprawled out, her pussy in plain view, for all to see. No one else was in the room, John walked over to Andrea and patted her head, waking her up. Covering her mouth, John said, "Andrea, stay quiet. It's John. I found out you were here from Michonne."

Andrea says groggily, "John, what are you doing here?"

John answered, "Amy wanted me to come and get you. She wanted you to be there when she has our baby."

Andrea said excitedly in a whisper, "A baby. Amy is having a baby, wow. I'm gonna be an aunt. He, he."

John said, "Yeah, so get dressed and I will take you to her."

Andrea says, "Okay."

John then left the room and walked to a room that was lit, John could hear some music playing quietly, it wasn't coming directly from the room. Walking into the room, no one was there. The noise was coming from a door, John pulled his pistol out as he opened the door. Looking inside, John could see the Governor brushing a girl walker's head. The Governor turned to John, seeing him the Governor was shocked, he was about to talk when John shot the walker he was holding, in the head.

With a pew sound, the walker fell to the floor, with a bullet hole in its head. The Governor, fell to the ground holding it. The governor looked up at John with hate in his eyes, he said, "How could you?"

John looked at the man with no mercy and said, "Walkers don't matter. Just like you."

The Governor looked confused but not for long as John shot him in the face three times. You know what they say, "Always Double-Tap, and to really be sure, Triple-Tap."

John then looked around the room and saw all the fish tanks, walking out of the room, John went towards the rest of the group, who were waiting for Andrea to come out. Andrea came walking out a couple minutes later.

Andrea looked at John, she asked, "Where's the Governor?"

John said, "I shot him in the face."

Andrea was completely shocked, she said, "Why?! How could you do that?!" She then ran at John and punched his chest, however she instantly regretted it, as she hit his vest. Seeing her hold her hand, John grabbed it and examined it, seeing it was fine.

John said, "Your hand will be okay. Follow me, you'll understand why I shot him." John then led Andrea by the hand, as his team followed. Walking into the room, they were all shocked, seeing the fish tanks full of walker heads and the walker girl on the ground, they understood.

They left the room and went to the main room. John said, "Now that the whole place has been cleared, we need to bring all the captives to an area outside and sit them down. Then we can explain the situation."

The group nodded, ready to follow John's plan. Looking through the window they could see the sun rising. They had moved around sneakily all night; they had gone slowly in order to stay hidden. Seeing that the sun was rising, they decided to rest and wait an hour before they started their plan.

While his team was resting, John walked out of the building and went to the apartment building they had started at. John arrived outside the building, he then walked in. Going to the room with the mother and baby. John walked in and saw that the mother was looking at her baby lovingly, her eyes had bags under them.

She noticed John walk in, and her gaze was a little worried, but she decided to trust John. John walked over to her and pulled out his knife, the lady's gaze was instantly changed to fear. Seeing this, John said softly, "Don't worry, I told you I wouldn't hurt you. I'm going to cut you lose. I need your help in a little while."

John then cut the zip ties restraining her, he also undid the muzzle for her. The lady sat still in front of John, John seeing this said, "Go to your little one. I know you are worried about him."

The lady turned to him and said, "Thank you, for not hurting him."

With John's permission, the lady walked over to the crib and picked up her baby. John walked over to her and said, "I am also expecting a child soon. Within the next few days."

The lady said, "Really? That's great news. How is your wife doing?"

John said, "My wife is doing well. She has been having some trouble with morning sickness, but other than that she is great. She is really excited."

The lady felt closer to John, now that she could connect with him. He felt less like an intruder now, he was more of a visitor. She said, "Yeah, I know how she feels, I had terrible morning sickness for months. So, anyway, what did you want my help with?"

John said, "First off, I think we forgot to introduce ourselves. I'm John." John then raised his hand.

The lady raised her hand to meet his, as she said, "Hi, my name is Victoria. Nice to finally, formally meet you."

John said, "Yes, it is nice to meet you as well. I am truly sorry if I scared you, but I had evidence that one of my group members was here and I had to save her as quietly as possible. Don't worry though, the situation has been resolved."

Victoria said, "You did scare me, but I appreciate the apology. Also, I'm glad to hear that the situation is over."

John said, "Sorry, but the situation isn't fully over. Remember, I wanted you to do something for me?"

Victoria said, "Yes?"

John explained, "I want you to help me explain to all the people here that I am their new leader."

Victoria said, "Okay, wait! What did you say?"

John said, "I have taken everyone here captive, so I'm your new leader. Not to worry. I just want you to help me explain that when I gather all the people here in front of the Governor's building. Do you think you could do that for me, please?"

Victoria nodded as she said, "Yeah, I can try to help you. So, what will happen to us?"

John seeing her worried, said, "Great. Thank you. Don't worry about the future, you and your baby, along with everyone else, will join our main group at our base. You'll see."

Victoria nodded, saying, "Okay then." John then led Victoria over to the Governor's building. On the way John got to know her better, while Victoria got to know him better. As they continued forward John told her about the base, this caused her to smile, she thought, 'Although it was a bumpy ride, I think this is for the best. The Governor always creeped me out. John is way more authentic, and he doesn't sugar coat anything important.'

John led her up the stairs, telling her a little about his team. When they arrived in front of John's group, John explained to them why Victoria is here.

John said, "Victoria is here to help explain to her fellow group members the situation and to keep them calm."

Victoria nodded, saying, "Yeah, I'll try my best."

John then had his team move out and gather all of the captives.
