The Villain’s Repentance

Lara was at rock bottom, feeling like a puppet whose strings had been cut. When she stumbled upon her husband and best friend in a compromising embrace, everything fell into place. The heartbreak stung, but it also ignited a fierce determination within her. Instead of wallowing in despair, fate intervened, giving her a second chance at life—waking her up ten years earlier, just before the chaos began. Armed with wisdom, she promised herself not to repeat the same mistakes. As she stood at the top of the stairs, her gaze fell on Lucas, her once-beloved fiancée. Regret washed over her; she couldn't believe she had almost let him slip away. This time, things would be different.

Chapter 45 - Just leave me behind

"Lara, hold on to your mother,I'll get Evelyn" Carlos said and immediately ran towards her.

When he finally reached her, she was wide awake which made him a bit relieved. "Can you get up?"

Evelyn attempted to get up but then she felt a sharp pain on her leg. "I think I broke my leg" she said almost in tears.

"It's okay, daddy's got you" he said in a soothing tone and carefully carried her into his arms, she wrapped her arms around his neck and winced when they held the injured leg.

"Let's go!" Carlos called out to Lara and Kiera as they carefully continued to go down the mountain, by the time they got half way down they heard a loud explosion and they turned around to see a large amount of Lava running down the hill.

"Run!" Carlos exclaimed and they increased the speed at which they were descending.

Unfortunately, the lava was faster and they exchanged looks knowing fully well they wouldn't make it.
