Going Dark

At the same time...

*Music Play — Going Dark*

As soon as the battle in the mansion started, our heroes, the Banana Bus Squad, Vanoss, Wildcat, Basically, Nogla and Delirious, plus Julian and Ellies, infiltrated the mansion.

The Banana Bus Crew, while doing their mission, also wore special clothing.

Their task was to secure the safety of the prince while the Assault Team of Midnight Order's attacked the mansion, and if it was possible, they would protect the other slaves too.

Vanoss, Wildcat, Delirious, Nogla and Basically made use of the potion of invisibility to blend with the surroundings and move through the mansion unnoticed. Furthermore, they also lent one of their potions of invisibility to Ellies so as to complement her infiltration techniques.

Julian, on the other hand, used an unknown technique to blend with the darkness of the night and disappeared without a trace.

"Cats are very nocturnal animals." Wildcat muttered, feeling awe about this world's uniqueness.

The group followed Ellies lead to find the Prince, using her as a K9 unit that they called, if Ellies knew about what they meant, she would've been pissed, so it's best not to tell her about it.

According to Ellies, the place where the Prince was kept was probably some kind of underground dungeon. No, not a dungeon like that big tower, more like a prison dungeon. Therefore, they first had to find the entrance to the dungeon.

In normal circumstances, just finding the entrance would take an enormous amount of time. However, Ellies' nose was very useful in this situation. She filtrated the smells and searched for the places where people usually take great amounts of food to.

A perfect K9 for them.

Using that as the criterium, and after ten minutes of searching and three mistaken places, the group finally found the entrance leading to the underground dungeon.

"Is this the place?" Vanoss asked quietly.

Ellies nodded, "Yup, I can feel the fetid stench of waste and despair coming from that place. The entrance is definitively there."

Everyone nodded and looked at the place Ellies was pointing. A warehouse-like building located behind the mansion.

"There are twenty-three people inside." Terroriser said as he eyes lit through the goggles he wore, "Three Rank 5 and Twenty Rank 4 and 3

"Then that is definitively the place." Moo opined, "If there are still people guarding this place in this situation means that this place is important."

Basically thought for a moment before nodding, "Let's move then. Kill them these sons of bitches quickly and very silently as possible. It would be bad if the battle prolongs and attracts more people to this place."

The group nodded and prepared to move, when...

"FBI! OPEN UP!!!"

"What did I just said-"

BAM!

Kicking the door from his boots, the door burst open, and as soon as the door fell, the whole team immediately moved.

"What is tha-" A guard asked with a surprised expression. But before he could understand who is attacking them, a tracer traveling at tremendous speed shoots him in the head, bypassing the magic defenses and his flesh, killing him instantly.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Like unstoppable forces, the whole team shoots more than fifteen men with guns with insane speed and precision, killing most of them in less than two seconds.

If you're wondering, how in the world the crew managed to kill a group of individuals that even the weakest of them, who is at the Rank 3, could win a tug-of-war against a Monster Truck and are durable as a modern tank.

It's because the guns they equipped are enchantments, increasing their power to the point of being able to obliterate a battalion of tanks in one shot, so killing a world filled with powerful superhumans and god-like powers will be easier. If used, regular guns in the field are like bringing a metal sword to a Warhammer-like battlefield.

"Intruders! Call reinforceme-GAH!"

Before he could call for help, a dagger emerged from the shadows and stabbed his throat. It was Julian.

"Shit!" One guard tried to run but before he could, he saw one dark uniform figure sliding in front of him then suddenly his chest burst open, the kinetic force pushed him a few feet back.

"Yeah! Get bursted you motherfuckering pussies, get double-darreled!" Wildcat taunted while holding his Double-darreled shotgun, a new type of shotgun the group made and named by Delirious.

"Seriously Delirious, next time we do the naming!" he yelled through the helmet at Delirious' direction, while the latter was currently screaming and shooting down enemies with his own double-darreled shotgun on top of a hill of corpses.

And like that, the fate of the remaining enemies were similar. Ellies beheaded one with her blades then killed the other.

"Clear!"

"Clear!"

"Clear!"

"Clear!"

"Clear!"

'I swear I'll get another headache coming.'  Ellies could only think that in frustration, but she did not bother by it and confirmed the kills so she and the rest searched for the entrance. Quickly, she found a door leading underground hidden below a carpet.

"Gotcha," Ellies smiled. She then sniffed the air twice, "There are people below. They probably heard the commotion we did so they are waiting to ambush us."

"Eleven Masters, and a few dozen Intermediate," Terroriser stated, "...Probably there is a Grandmaster as well."

"That is a lot." Delirious whistled in surprise.

"We need a damn plan,"  Basically muttered, "If we enter like this, we will be fucked from all side as soon as we open the door."

Vanoss thought for a moment before speaking, "Is our target nearby?"

Ellies shook her head, "No, their smell is farther away."

"I'll take care of this then." Vanoss said calmly with a mysterious smile beneath his helmet.

"Um Evan, what are you going to do?" Moo asked, feeling wary of this.

"Just watch."

With a grin beneath his helmet, he then nodded to Delirious. Understanding his intention, Delirious took out Xavier, out of his Pokeball.

"A Golem?" Ellies was curious, but Vanoss did not bother to explain it to them. Instead, he pulls out a metal ball, same as everyone including Xavier.

"Alright soldiers, grenades out. Ready?"

Everyone nodded.

*Shotgun Cucking*

Without hesitation, Wildcat aimed the door with the double-darreled shotgun and pressed the trigger.

Bang!

A loud roar erupted, and dozens of bullets hit the door at once, creating a bowl-sized hole in the door, surprising both allies and enemies alike. Vanoss could see the stunned faces of the people underground through the hole.

Unfortunately, they were not going to be surprised for long.

"Fire in the hole!"

"Fire in the hole!"

"Kobe!"

"Hey, what are you doing!?" Ellies asked in surprise.

"You better cover your ears, dog!" Wildcat merely smiled and put his hands on his ears. His friends followed suit without hesitation.

Seeing that, Ellies instinctively covered her ears as well, and the next instant-

BOOOOMMMM!

An enormous explosion and a blinding light occurred underground.

The warehouse trembled strongly, and Ellies cried in surprise. Even with her hands covering her ears, the strong explosion affected her greatly.

"W-What the hell is...?"

"Oy! Stop daydreaming, you stupid fucks! Let's move out!"

With a serious expression, Vanoss kicked open the remains of the door and charged to the underground dungeon.

Most people in this world had never seen a grenade before. Therefore, they were slow to react when they saw more than six small metallic balls falling through the hole in the door.

By the time they realized something was wrong...

BOOOOOM!

The grenades had already exploded, there are no regular modern flag grenades, they are Plasma Grenades, the same ones from Terrarias that contain a heavily condensed and heated unit of super-compressed plasma that exploded violently on collision into a vaporizing blast.

The underground passage turned into a fiery hell. Many of the enemy forces waiting to ambush the team were instantly vaporized by the extreme heat caused by super-compressed energy, while another part of them was killed by the shockwave and shrapnel of the explosion.

Despite it, none of the crew did not lower their guard. Vanoss put strength on his legs, kicking the semi-destroyed door open and charging into the underground structure.

Something charged before them, though. Xavier rushed at them at astonishing speed, went on a rampage inside the underground structure and killed everything inside, alive or dead.

Attacking by an overpowered Iron Golem was more than enough to kill most of the enemies still alive after the explosion.

When everyone reached the ground, only a few enemy were still alive. And for them...

"Suppressing Fire!"

"Light these bitches up!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Just like before, the bullets were already waiting.

"Dammit! What the hell!"

"W-What is happening!?"

"Medic...!"

Many of the enemy guards screamed in panic and confusion in front of the sudden wave of projectiles, unable to react properly. Only a few of the individuals in the Intermediate Realm realized the gravity of the situation and tried to organize their remaining allies to perform a better defense.

"Get a grip of yourself!"

"Mages, put a stop to the fire!"

"Don't panic!"

Unfortunately for them, they took too long.

Suddenly, as if the shadows seemed to come alive, it engulfed all of the enemies that were still alive. The next second, a pair of daggers emerged from the shadows, stabbing neck after neck at an unprecedented speed.

It turns out to be Julian.

Like a god of slaughter, his movements left behind a path of blood, death, and destruction. He made use of the shadows and darkness to assassinate the enemies in a matter of seconds.

But he was not the only one that acted.

Ellies also fell into the underground structure. Same like Julian, she charged towards the enemies and started to kill.

The Banana Bus Crew, on the other hand, supports them with their guns while Delirious is commanding Xavier to continue killing more enemies.

"I can do this all day." Basically said in his Texas accent.

"Let's go, this is the way!" Ellies shouted, pointing in another direction. The group nodded and followed her.

At that moment, the group realized this underground structure was much more vast than they expected. It was filled with complicated passages that interconnected together to form a giant underground maze.

The passages were dark, moist, and cold. Julian took out an illumination stone he had with him and used it to light up the way.

"Incredible, I thought it was a rumor." The Catkin gentlemen muttered in disbelief.

"A rumor?" Nogla asked curiously.

"I heard about this place before. A rumor about a net of underground tunnels below Orazvil. I always thought it was just an urban myth. I never expected I would see it one day." Julian explained as he went deep in thought. He could imagine how hard it was to build a structure like this.

It was so vast and complicated that you would get lost if you didn't know the way. Fortunately for the group, the lack of wind and sun made it so the scents took much longer to dissipate. Thus, Ellies was able to track the Prince's smell and guide the group in the right direction.

How did they know it was the right direction? Simple, they continued encountering enemies in the way.

"Stop them!"

"Don't let them get past!"

"We need more reinforcements! They are bypassing our defenses!"

In the following minutes of running, waves after waves of enemies attacked the group nonstop.

"Just how many of them are there!?" Wildcat shouted as he blasted another enemy with his shotgun, "We had killed these motherfucking cunts around forty or fifty already!"

Julias frowned, "Ellies, how far!"

"The scent is becoming stronger. Two hundred meters or so!"

"That is good," Julian nodded while stabbing the heart of a man, "Guys, just a bit more!"

"Roger that, amigo!" The dumbest man, Nogla, grinned as he continued raining down bullets towards his enemies with a heavy machine gun, spraying a hundred rounds in seconds before taking out something from his pocket. Then...

Bam!

Nogla smacked someone, who was just trying to backstab him after becoming invisible, with a fish.

As Nogla literally smacked an assassin with a fish to death, meanwhile, some of the group frowned. They could feel that the resistance had increased greatly. Although they had not met anyone at Legendary yet, the number of Grandmasters they had faced was at least five, or six after Nogla killed one with a fish.

And in fact, if not for the presence of Julian, facing one Grandmaster would be extremely difficult.

'They put a lot of effort into defending this place…'

But then, Julian felt the resistance lightening. And suddenly, there were no more enemies targeting the group.

'Have we killed them all...? No, this is…'

Julian did not need to think for long to guess the reason. And as he suspected, his thoughts were spot on.

After running for another minute, they arrived in front of what seemed like an entrance.

Coming to a halt, Ellies shouted, "It's here!"

But then, they realized something strange.

The entrance... it was opened.

"There are enemies inside, around ten of them, I guess." Terroriser said.

Julian nodded. He could feel the obvious energy fluctuations from practitioners coming from inside.

Moreover, according to Terroriser, there were a lot of slaves and kidnapped people inside. If they were not careful, they could end up hurting them.

Julian frowned before looking at the group of intimidating soldiers, or the Banana Bus Crew and asked, "Any ideas?"

Wildcat merely shrugged, "The fuck we know."

"Technically, I got one!" Vanoss, beside Wildcat, said and grabbed his last grenade from his pocket. But before he could throw it inside, Julian stopped him.

"Are you crazy!? The prince is inside, you fool!"

Vanoss smirked, "Calm down, man, this one will only stun them."

Before Julian could understand the meaning of his words, Vanoss threw the grenade inside. However, before the flash grenade passed through the entrance, there was a flash of light. And in an instant, the grenade was cut into two.

"Well, that seems dangerous." A leisure voice came from the entrance.

Vanoss groaned. It seemed like the same trick was not going to work twice.

"It has been a long time since the last time we had invitees." The voice from before continued, "As the host, it's my duty to give you the best reception possible."

With these words, a thick dark mist started to fill the underground passage.

"Oh fuck! Everybody, gas mask!"

Without wasting a second, everyone changes their helmet to a gas mask, except for Delirious because being an undead, he is immune to most toxic and poisonous gasses, it is natural for Undead like him.

"No, this fog is normal."

But although the fog was not poisonous, it was very thick and dark to the point that it seemed to swallow light itself and engulf the entire area into darkness, where visibility is non-existent.

So that is the man's intention...

Julian seemed to have understood it too. Thus, his expression turned very serious.

"Who are you?"

"You are invading someone else's property and are you asking who I am? That is pretty rude." The voice chuckled.

One second later, the group heard the sound of footsteps. Whoever was the owner of the voice, he was walking towards them. However, he was still hidden behind the fog.

"I'm surprised, though," The voice said, "It's the first time in history someone has reached this far."

"What is this place?"

The voice chuckled again, "You see, the Duke is a great man. When he started his rule, he abolished slavery and increased the security of the duchy. Before him, before Orazvil was made, even before the dungeon first appeared, this land was a place of chaos and crime, but he transformed it into the prosperous state it's today. That's where he created a new city, Orazvil."

"However, not everybody was happy with it." The man's tone suddenly shifted to a solemn one, "For years, the city of Orazvil had been the paradise for Merchants, Adventurers, and other races living without discrimination. But there is one thing everyone didn't know, the place is also a paradise of slavery and human trafficking. It bordered the surrounding countries and its geographical location allowed it to realize business with half of the continent. Thus, when the Duke abolished slavery, the people that lived from such a business had to find a way to survive."

Spreading his arms, he added, "...and this place was their answer. A net of tunnels that covers a third of the city, allowing to imprison and transport slaves to the different underground auctions."

"I can't believe such a place like this exists." Julian frowned in disgust, "Such a place filled with a shit in a swamp. How did you manage to keep it hidden? Such a net of tunnels is not something easy to overlook."

The man laughed smugly, "The people behind this, the ones who made the tunnels are more powerful than you can ever imagine, young man. They are as powerful as the three superpowers combined. Their means are not something you can imagine, and hiding this place from anyone including a demigod is very simple for them, so simple that is like, this is just merely a Kindergarten level. I congratulate you on coming this far, though. Even the Duke has not managed to do it."

"Well, enough chit chatting," The man hidden in the dark mist said, "I think this amount of mist is already enough."

Julian frowned. Currently, the dark mist was so thick and dark that none of them could hardly see their own hands.

It was obvious the reason the owner of the voice had been talking to them was to wait until the dark mist filled the passage completely.

With a soft chuckle that seemed to come from everywhere, the man bellowed, "Now... you can all die anytime I want."

It was as though the man was the mist itself. He suddenly materialized behind Ellies, with a knife ready to stab her.

When all of a sudden, a strong sense of danger assaulted him.

Without hesitation, the man jumped aside, only to see hundreds of enchanted bullets coming towards his face. And behind it, ten pairs of crimson eyes were seen in the dark mist, following his movements. One of them is smoking cigarettes.

"Bravo-6 going dark."
