chapter 19

Izuku got up, looking around confused, What am I doing here? Where am I? He thought as he started getting up, glancing at his phone for the time, more than half of the day as already passed.

The first thing he did was check on the cafe, calling Toga to know what was happening, Toga told him about what happened after he left, and how he crashed on U.A., and that Aizawa would go pick him up, as if on cue Aizawa entered the room and ordered tiredly Midoriya to follow him.

In the trip, Izuku remembered the past events, and how he had a mini-breakdown and passed out due to lack of sleep, Izuku was ashamed that he behaved like that in front of Nezu of all people. He made a mental note to call the mouse/bear thing to apology.

During the 2 weeks he searched for the names himself, he found little about them, all he knew was what he said to Nezu and All Might.

When arriving at the cafe, Izuku was kicked out of work by Toga and told him to go 'relax outside', Izuku couldn't really fight against her at the time, so he complied, grabbing one of his notebooks in case he decided to write stuff down about heroes and headed to the park.

Izuku mumbled his time away in the park's bench and wrote some new details in his notebook, compiled the rumors he read on the net about All for One, and tried to guess what kind of villain he was, Izuku was sure that All for One was a intellectual type of Villain that planned everything more than 15 steps ahead.

After quite some time, he decided to head home for the day, only stopping by a road-vendor to buy a snack for Toga, Eri, Dabi and Twice. He took some steps away from the shop, when a voice called for him. "Hey, Kid." The voice belonged to a elderly man from what Izuku could guess.

Izuku turned around to see a small man, dressed in a white and yellow suit, a cape on his back, he extended his arm to Midoriya, "You dropped this kid." He handed Izuku his notebook that he didn't even realize he had dropped, "I took a look at it, this notes are indeed interesting." He commented, "But most of what you have on All for One is lacking."

Izuku took the notebook, and was taken aback by the comment of the elderly man, "You know All for One?" Izuku's curiosity was piked, he wanted to know what the old man knew.

"Why don't we sit." He simply stated, pointing at a bench that was close by, without waiting for a response he started walking there, as Izuku rushed behind the man.

Sitting down, the man looked at Izuku, "Nezu commented about you... But I never thought I would meet you on the way there, and not like this of all things." He started, Izuku remained silent, expecting the man to talk more, "All for One is the most cruel of man. It all started in the beginning of the quirk era, when everyone was fighting about the anomalies people were being born with."

Izuku looked up, not making eye contact with the man, "I heard if those dark ages didn't occur we would be more advanced technologically, and interstellar travelling would be possible too. But what does it have to do with All for One?" He finished returning eye contact with the elder.

"It was then that he appeared. I heard from Nezu that you know about the existence of One for All, too." The man continued his explanation, his gaze was in his memories as he recalled something Izuku didn't know about, "All for One was a person that could take and give away quirks as he pleased, in those times of despair, he made people gather to him, and soon he became the leader of Japan in the underworld, he had ears everywhere, everyone was afraid of him."

"Take and give quirks as he pleased... All quirks for one person..." Izuku mumbled, as he took in the information.

"But the man had a brother, a sickly brother with a great sense for justice, but All for One believing the brother didn't have a quirk, gave him a quirk, a stockpiling one, and it was then that the brother realized his quirk, a quirk to pass his own quirk to others, and there was born One for All, he tried to fight All for One, but not succeeding he passed it to one, than another, and other, until it got to Nana."

"Shimura Nana ..!" Izuku was linking up the names, the history behind everything, his questions being answered by one simple background.

"Nana was an excellent woman, a very close friend of mine, but even with all her power, she couldn't beat All for One, passing it to Toshinori." The old man gritted his teeth.

"Toshinori is All Might... So he is a hold of One for All?" The elder nodded.

"Toshinori got his power, I trained him for a time, until he mastered the quirk, until he fought All for One, we all believed that he defeated him for good, but he is starting to rise again."

"Trained All Might... So..! You are Gran Torino!" Midoriya linked every name now, he could finally get answers for what he wanted, he was getting them already. "And that explained his injuries, a fight he hid from people and media."

Gran Torino eyed the boy as he thought and muttered all his thoughts away, "Toshinori told me he passed his quirk already, so it was you." He spoke, breaking the muttering from Izuku.

Izuku gave him a wide eyed stare, and shook his head, "No. I'm. Not."

This shocked the old man, making him think what could have Toshinori said to the boy to make him react like this. He coughed into his hand, easing the tension, "I apologize, I rushed into conclusions. Do you have any questions?"

Izuku nodded, "If All for One is alive for that long, that means he got some regeneration quirks, as well has others that could keep him alive for that long... So for All for One, I guess I won't ask for more information, maybe later with All Might and Nezu..." Midoriya thought out loud, looking at the elder, he spoke again, "Then, why did Nana and the other six figures talked with me? Why did they entrust this message to me?"

Gran Torino looked taken aback, he didn't look at the boy, "I don't know, kid, what did they say?"

"They told me about All for One, and how I have to help stop him, how a power got in the wrong person, and that I have to make him not stray from the right path, and that Gran Torino had answers for me. I'm guessing that the power in the wrong person, is the current successor of One for All, I also already heard about All for One from you, so most of my questions were answered." Izuku stopped as he remembered, as if a light bulb lit up above his head, he looked up, "She also spoke 'This was supposed to be different', and that 'Even after having everything taken from you, you still found a way to be true to yourself.', This is the question I really would like an answer for. What was supposed to be different?" Izuku looked at the man with expectant eyes, waiting for the answer.

The man looked at the smaller green haired boy, "I don't have an answer for that question." A smile formed on the old man's face, and he poked Midoriya on his chest, "That's something for you to figure out."

So I can't have an answer for the question? "So I can't have an answer for the question?" Midoriya spoke his thoughts as he stared dumbfounded at the man.

The man cracked in laughter, "Hey, Kid, I heard you have a cafe, do you sell taiyaki?" The man asked receiving a confused nod from the boy, "Then lets go. I want some." And he started trotting away in the wrong direction.

It took Izuku some time to convince the old man that the cafe was in another direction.

--------------

Izuku arrived at the cafe, to see Aizawa sleeping in the corner in the sofa with Eri, Toga and Dabi having their leisure time as people stopped rushing in some time ago, and are enjoying their snacks, Twice playing with Kota that returned from the holiday celebrations with Mandalay.

The green haired boy, headed to the kitchen taking out some of the freshly baked taiyaki and handing it to the old man, who gratefully took them and enjoyed eating them as he looked at the newspapers of the day.

Izuku decided to give the snacks he brought with him to Toga, who divided them with everyone else, and Izuku used that time to compile in his notebook the information he got today.

Today was a fruitful day.

------------------

Night came, the cafe was closed and Izuku remembered he had 2 more unused rooms in the house.

The five of them were having dinner on the house, upstairs, and Izuku commented, "Why not put one of the rooms for rent? Maybe a student will rent it to be close to U.A."

Toga piped up at this, "Someone else!? I hope its a girl!" Then she comically frowned, "Being the only big girl here is sad."

That earned a laugh from Dabi, "But would a student come here, and live here with someone like me? Full of burn scars? Someone like Toga? With a crazy love for blood?"

Dabi did like the idea of a new addition, but he didn't like that it could be someone that would discriminate his family.

Izuku nodded, "Of course, I will search their background and do an interview to see if they should really get in. After all I'm thinking of making the person work, in exchange of lower rent price."4

"I'm all in for that!" Toga rose her hand, looking excited, "I'm all in for new friends!"

Izuku looked at Toga, "By the way, Toga, have you been studying? The exams are in a month." Toga flinched, "I see, Toga, if you don't want to be in the same class as me it is a shame, it seems you will be alone in another school."

"I-I-I will be with Izu!" Toga stuttered.

"Then you need to study. U.A. has a crazy low entrance rate, so you need to study to get in." Izuku innocently smiled, and Toga nodded, "I'm looking forward to having classes with you. School will be fun for once."

"I will work hard! Be together with Izu."

With all that, the 5 indulged in more fun chatter, talking about who would be joining them in the cafe.

------------

Bakugo was entering the cafe, waiting to have his peaceful breakfast sandwich with Izuku, today would be a special day of the week, as he would 4 times a week, go to the cafe to study with Izuku.

But the day wasn't with him, he entered the cafe, with Izuku hitting Toga with a rolled up newspaper, as she struggled with math, a old man eating taiyaki, the hobo-looking man on the corner sleeping with Eri in his arms, as she was also peacefully sleeping, a loud blond with a woman that had dark purple hair, cackling away as they took pictures of the hobo.

Only for 30 seconds after Izuku rushing to a slim man, with a mouth showing all his teeth, to hold the man up, as he apologized for having his prosthetic slipping out, and thanking Izuku after, as he got it back in place.

That slim man headed to a slim woman, with some crazy big gloves, and sat with her, as they enjoyed their coffee.

Not wanting to waste more time, Bakugo headed to Toga's table, as he sat down there, and took out his school books, only to be bonked with a newspaper by Izuku, "Kacchan, you have this one wrong." He pointed out to the beginning of the equation, "You switched the signal here, and messed up all the thing." Math wasn't Bakugo's best area, as it was what Izuku berated him more for.

Exams are getting closer and Bakugo will not accept something other than 1st place.
