Chapter 4.5 “pain from redemption”

Part 1

Laka told Shana on his side of the story that before this universe even existed, there was a universe before the 23,000th one. It was the 22,997th one when he was just a god beginning to descend to the mortal plane into the 3-dimensional realm and live through the earth and was turning himself into a mortal. But he was on a mission first, to eliminate the demon imps that have been destroying the world. It was just as fighting hordes of demons, he has met his one, the one that he will call his lover. She was named S, just S. She was a wonderful woman whom he loved but this woman was separated from the village and living above the mountains. But Laka saw the woman was fending off small imps from destroying her farm. She was a strong woman through heart and spirit. She had skin dark of the night but as beautiful as the soul. Laka helped by destroying the imps and that time Laka didn't have a name. As S saw Laka, she invited him into her home. She prepared food for him and Laka watched as she cooked a good delicacy. At that time, As S gave Laka her tea and said what was his name since his name wasn't Laka.

He said that he had none, only the most popular gods can get recognized but the ones with no names were easily forgotten. So S gave Laka the name L, from this village one letter was how they named themselves. And Laka said to L, "It is now" and explained to her that he descended to protect this world and to experience mortal life. So Laka and S were chatting because Laka was the first one to visit her home. Laka asked why she was cursed, saying that the village said that she was the cause of these demon imps and that she was attracting them, so they banished her from the village because of that. So while Laka was fighting demons, he visits S's home. She was happy that somebody in the world cared for her now.

As Laka and S spent more time together, Laka began to learn more about the demon imps and their origins. He discovered that they were the result of a powerful sorcerer who had harnessed dark magic to create the creatures and unleash them upon the world. Determined to put an end to the sorcerer's reign of terror, Laka set out on a journey to track down the sorcerer and put a stop to their plans. Along the way, he faced many challenges and fought many battles, but with S by his side, he was able to overcome them all.

Laka, on his mission to eliminate the demon imps that had been destroying the world, stumbled upon a cave where a sorcerer was summoning these demons from a demon general. The sorcerer was worshipping the demon and had been given the power to rule the world. He was spreading the demon imps everywhere, plaguing every corner of the universe. As Laka explained to Shana, a normal universe is not finite, it is infinite and constantly expanding. The sorcerer's plan was to rule everything in this infinite universe, and even reach the fourth dimension above the mortal three-dimensional realm.

When the demon discovered that Laka was erasing his creations, he ordered the sorcerer to take care of it. The sorcerer emerged from the cave and saw Laka flying in the sky, looking down at him. The sorcerer launched a ball of darkness towards Laka, but Laka was unaffected, showing no damage to his body. The sorcerer flew towards Laka and fought him with all of his might, even using high-grade dark mystic arts. But Laka was still able to defeat him and pinned him to the ground. The sorcerer was surprised that there was someone in this world who surpassed his power.

In a last-ditch effort, the sorcerer teleported to space and summoned an energy ball strong enough to destroy the earth. While he was doing this, he also summoned every demon imp in the world and every corner of the infinite universe to distract Laka. However, Laka disposed of them all easily. The sorcerer then threw the energy ball at Laka, but Laka deflected it back at him with his own arms.

As the sorcerer used all of his magic to summon more infinite demon imps and started to fuse them to his body, the ball hit him, and the sorcerer thought he had killed him. But instead, the sorcerer was absorbing the energy from the ball and transformed into something new.

The sorcerer had fused all of his power to become a being of immense power, causing the infinite universe to begin cracking. However, the sorcerer continued to evolve, becoming almost a 4th dimensional being. His existence alone was causing the Earth to shake and galaxies to explode throughout the universe. In order to protect the solar system, Laka created a barrier and stopped time in order to defeat the sorcerer. But the sorcerer's speed was too great, even in stopped time, and Laka was worried that his plan to live as a mortal would be destroyed.

The two clashed, their fist and energy balls impacting with such force that it cracked the infinite 3 dimensional universe, even in stopped time. The sorcerer punched Laka, breaking the time stop and forcing Laka to reveal just a small portion of his power. The two were evenly matched, but Laka had a problem; if he became any stronger, the universe and even the fourth dimensional timelines would be threatened.

Laka stopped the fight, but the sorcerer took the opportunity to strike and successfully killed Laka. The sorcerer then ruled the world, creating a paradise for himself as the supreme ruler of every dimension. But as he was about to be hit in the chest, he heard:

{Garden of Eden}

And saw Laka killing him, negating his immortality and destroying the wizard. Laka left the sorcerer's head, saying how he had ruled everything. Laka explained his technique, "Garden of Eden," an ability that makes a person fall into their illusions and negates all five senses and beyond, even negating their sight of the future. The sorcerer was fooled into a false reality and Laka killed him, completing his mission.

Laka then returned to Earth and went to S, who told him that he had been gone for a long time and the world had experienced powerful natural disasters that killed everyone. S was the only survivor, having lived in her basement, but her home and farm had been destroyed. Laka offered to live together and S accepted. Laka lifted her to a plain field and began constructing a house bigger than the last one. They began to fall for each other and lived a simple life together. Laka's healing powers quickly cured any sickness S had and she became essentially immortal. However, the gods soon noticed Laka's actions and intervened.

As the gods took action, they summoned every demigod from every part of human mythology and ancient religion to take down Laka. The first wave of demigods descended and populated the Earth and the whole universe, telling Laka that a god cannot be a mortal. They explained that only gods can descend, and Laka's very existence was causing the spiral hyperverse to fall through the infinite layers of the multiverse, threatening creation itself.

Laka tried to explain that he could restrict his powers, but the demigods were firm in their decision, as the Council of the Gods had already made the ruling to take him back to the outer realms. However, as they arrived, they saw that Laka had a child with a mortal, breaking another law of the gods. When the demigods tried to take the child away, Laka snapped, grabbing one of their arms and killing an immortal demigod.

The demigods and gods watched in horror as Laka committed another crime, and his title of God of Power was revoked by the law of the Council. The demigods tried to overpower Laka, but he shook them off with ease, using only 6.1% of his power to launch them all outside of the solar system and the Milky Way galaxy in an instant. Despite the demigods using their powers to stop time, Laka was unaffected, and he killed them one by one.

Desperate to defeat Laka, the demigods merged the 3-dimensional realm of time and space with the 11-dimensional realm, hoping to boost their power. However, this still wasn't enough, and they were forced to attack Laka at the conceptual level, trying to erase his existence. This only caused Laka to receive a small bruise, and it wasn't until one god came down in an avatar and teleported Laka back to the outer realms that the battle truly began.

The two fought with all their cosmic might, and the one god was eventually able to seal Laka's power, leaving him only with Stage 101. Despite this, Laka was still able to defeat the god's avatar. However, he was left with a curse - he would see his wife, who was nearly dying, reincarnating with the same face every 100 years. As she lay there, she gave Laka his true name, and he was no longer simply known as "L".

As Laka stayed by S's side, he watched her take her final breath and ascend to the afterlife. He honored her by burying her in the ground. He then retreated to a cave, where he spent 500 years mourning the loss of his wife and family. When he emerged, he saw that humanity had flourished, with great architecture in the land of Greece.

However, Laka soon saw a familiar figure resembling his wife, but as soon as he approached her, he realized she was young. This was due to the curse that had been placed on him: every 100 years, he would see his wife, but she would always be young. Despite the fact that he had seen her for the last time, he ran away from her, keeping his distance in order to protect her. He saw that humanity had lost the power to wield ki, but it had been replaced by great advancements in mathematics and technology.

Despite the passage of time, Laka continued to see his wife, always at a distance, but never approaching her. He even saw her die, but the curse had a subpart to it. Just before her final breath, all of her memories would return, and she would shout out his name. Laka knew that he could not undo the curse, so he watched in silence as every 100 years passed.

Despite his efforts to explain his identity to the newly reincarnated version of his wife, she would only have ten seconds of life left and would die instantly. No matter where Laka went, his soon-to-be reincarnated wife was always followed by the curse. Despite this, Laka never lost his love and devotion for her, and he continued to silently watch her, always at a distance.

To pass the time, Laka devoted himself to studying all aspects of humanity, including literature, science, and every subject in every century. He read every book and delved into every topic, gaining an encyclopedic knowledge of human history. His only source of happiness was martial arts, which he studied extensively for 2000 years. He learned every branch of Chinese martial arts and traveled to other countries to learn their techniques, eventually combining all the styles into a single, ultimate form.

With his mastery of martial arts, Laka honed his abilities to the point where he didn't need to rely on his powers to be a deadly weapon. As he studied every subject throughout every generation of humanity in this universe, Laka continued to refine his martial arts, becoming more skilled and dangerous with each passing year. However, his journey came to an end when the universe came to an end in the year 22,998. But, a new universe, universe 22,999, presented itself, offering Laka a new opportunity to continue his studies and perfect his martial arts skills.

In this universe, humanity did not possess any trace of ki, but they were highly advanced in technology. Over time, humanity's technology evolved to reach the level of a Type 1 to Type 5 civilization and they were able to control space and time. This was the peak of the universe, and humanity was on the verge of evolving to the fourth dimension.

Laka studied this version of humanity, but the curse of his immortality activated when he attended school and saw that his classmate was his reincarnated wife. In an attempt to have a different outcome, Laka reintroduced himself with a different name and started dating her. As humanity reached its peak, they discovered immortality and even breached timelines and multiverses, reaching Type 7 civilization, becoming gods over humanity, and creating their own laws of dimensions.

Laka and his wife had a loving long life, but the gods noticed that humanity was ascending to a threat to the spiral hyperspace, which contained all of time and space and higher dimensions. In the end, the gods erased everything in the spiral hyperspace except for Laka, who had a family and was happy. He taught his martial arts to his children, but the gods eventually erased everything, and Laka was left alone once again, crying and breaking down into history before he was erased. He kissed his wife and said her true name before she was erased, leaving Laka alone once again.

And to continue the cycle, the universe 22999 died, and the 23000th universe was where Laka accepted that his wife was already dead, even though the curse kept her reincarnating. Laka treated her as just another person, and tried to distance himself from the emotions that came with their past relationship. One day, while studying in Japan, he met his best friend, Shino Takehashi.

Shino was the top student in all of his subjects and took it as a challenge when Laka easily surpassed him in their studies. Despite the initial rivalry, they quickly became close friends, bonding over their mutual love of all forms of entertainment, including comics, manga, movies, and any other fiction-based fun. In this version of humanity, there was a trace of ki, but it was never noticed or acknowledged by the people. Humanity had evolved its technology to a point where entertainment was a refined art form, and Laka and Shino would spend whole days indulging in it together. Shino was also a martial arts fanatic, and created a robot that could absorb all the data of modern and ancient martial arts into one deadly form. Laka was happy to train with his friend in their shared passion for martial arts.

In high school, they encountered a new student, Rin Takanashi, who was Laka's latest reincarnation of his wife. Rin was shy and was targeted by bullies, so Laka and Shino stepped in to help her fight them off. They introduced themselves and soon, Rin became a valuable addition to their group, excelling in her studies and sharing their interests. However, Laka tried to keep his distance and treat her as a new person, recognizing that their past relationship was not meant to continue. Shino, on the other hand, fell in love with Rin, but Laka understood that this was a test for him to move on. One day, they discovered that Rin had been taken by the bullies to a nearby forest and was being pushed off a cliff. Laka and Shino rushed to save her, determined to protect her from harm.

The bullies, confident that they wouldn't be caught, didn't notice that Shino had called the police. The police arrived just in time to arrest the bullies while they were in the midst of pushing Rin off a cliff. Shino hugged Rin in relief, while Laka used his powers to fly and rescue them both. He showed Shino and Rin his abilities, which instead of scaring them, surprised and fascinated them. Shino, being a scientist at heart, started experimenting on Laka to uncover more about his abilities. Laka saw inside Shino's mind and discovered that his brain held the knowledge and memories of the entire previous human civilization. This gave Shino the power to control creation, but Laka recognized that Shino had the ability to choose what to build and create, unlike the previous civilization.

Laka, Shino, and Rin spent their days hanging out and having fun together. Shino eventually asked Laka for advice on how to date Rin, since Laka had moved on from his reincarnated wife. Laka, happy to help, gave Shino tips and acted as a wingman on their dates. Rin and Shino eventually fell in love with each other, but Laka couldn't help feeling a twinge of jealousy, even though he had accepted that his wife was gone and moved on. Despite this, he was happy for his friends and continued to support them.

But as time passed, Laka's jealousy grew stronger, even as he was happy for Shino and Rin's relationship. However, the dating dynamic became too much for Laka to handle and eventually, after Shino and Rin ended their relationship, Shino left, leaving Laka and Rin behind. Despite so many reincarnations, Laka couldn't help but admire Rin's beauty. Finally, unable to resist any longer, Laka revealed Rin's true name and memories, overwhelming Rin with a flood of memories. Rin then kissed Laka on the lips, and as Shino witnessed this, a monster appeared, killing Rin with its sharp claws. Despite defeating the monster, Laka and Shino were unable to save Rin. The loss affected both Laka and Shino deeply, and the two stopped talking to each other for years.

Part 2

Before leaving Shana's room, Laka told her, "Don't blame your brother for what happened. He's not a bad person, and I'm just as much to blame. But don't hold a grudge against him. He was just doing what he thought he had to do."

Shana replied, "I understand. Thank you for explaining everything to me."

Laka turned off the lights in the room and said goodnight to Shana, closing the door behind him. As he walked out, he saw Deicoon crying and was touched by how loving this family was. Laka's mother, overhearing his story, was in tears and hugged Laka tightly. Everyone eventually went to bed and fell back to sleep.
