Mission (1)

This d*mbed cat. This is the 4th time we had to catch it. Following the strategy that we have in place, we lure it into an alleyway where Shikamaru catches it with his Shadow Imitation Technique. It was rather uneventful. I feel like scaring this cat to stay inside forever. I open the door to my room and lay on my bed. I sigh as I pull out a note book that has all my entries. About a month ago I started to right in the missions and lessons I've learned into a book. I thought, "Might as well try to see if one of my previous missions can help if I'm ever stuck." Not that it matters its been about 2 months since we joined squads and we've yet to have any missions that lead out of town. Recently, however, thing have seemed to be getting brighter on that aspect. I expect soon we will leave.

"I'm home." Not long after writing everything down. Iruka called upstairs.

I went down to cook. As always Iruka seems down about the food. Not long after we start eating a knocking on the door sounds out. Who s knocking now of all times. Taking one of the dumplings I made, I open the door.

"Hurry up get ready we have an emergency mission." On the other side was Ino. "Choji went to get Shikamaru. They'll be there already if you don't hurry up."

"Where are we going?" I ask confused. "If it's the cat again I'm killing it."

"No no no we have a mission to the capital. I'll tell you more later. Get clothes for a two weeks, money, and and other necessities." She says rushing me. She pushes me inside. This isn't the first time she was inside, but usually the other two are with her. Looking around the corner I see Iruka smiling. I pack everything and pull a scroll from under on of my floor boards. This surprises both Iruka and Ino. "What's that?" Opening it I pull out 3 small bags full of cash, and I had them to Iruka.

"This is enough money for YOUR food and some stuff you may need. If you run out buying the blonde carrot food you need to work out finding money yourself." I have to hide this because Iruka kept buying Naruto food. The cost on our budget was massive. Stuffing the scroll that contained 4 more money bags in it into my shirt, I head out with Ino. These scrolls are expensive, but I got one free for helping Tenten with some stuff on the side.

We meet up with sensei, Shikamaru, and Choji at the front gate. We get in a carriage and set out. I find out we have to deliver an important message to the daimyo. Although it is a C-rank mission and failure is not an option, we are trusted with it due to Asuma's connection with the daimyo. On the third day of the trip we were attacked the for first time by a group of bandits. We stayed inside our carriage to not attract attention. We had taken off our headbands to keep anonymous. We are currently 2 more days from the next city. When we get there I have a few plans I'd like to set up to ensure we are safer. We will be spending 3 days in town to get supplies and rest up. Asuma is worried about us staying on top shape.

"How long do you think it'll be till we get to sleep in an actual bed?" Ino is pouting slightly. If we were allowed to walk it wouldn't be as bad, but we have to stay in the carriage. Although it's big enough to fit us and our supplies, it's not big enough to move to much. We're lucky that we have a portable shoji set. I'm able to beat Ino and Choji, but every time I go against Shikamaru I lose miserably. It's quite irritating actually. Being read so thoroughly isn't a pleasant feeling. Asuma seems interested in playing Shikamaru.

The trip to town was uneventful other then the one bandit fight. We get into our in and I talk to Asuma about my plans. My goals are to trick a bunch of people to head towards the capital on the hope of opportunity. Then I want to obtain a carriage that seems a bit more run down, so that we seem less important to bandits. And lastly modify our new carriage to have a secret compartment to hide the scroll. If possible, two secret compartments, that way we can through someone off from the real one. Back on the previous earth some of the people who went to my fathers school were professional smugglers for the mafia, and they taught me how to do this type of stuff. I never though if ever use it though.

Getting people to migrate toward the capital was hard, but not impossible. I got people to move under the rumor started by some "incoming merchant" who were hoping to buy wood from her to build a massive building in the capital. The needed lots of wood and stone. The amount needed was in the hundreds of thousand range. For smaller traveling merchants this is a great hope. Hopefully it will build up more and more as we head towards the capital and as we get further out of Konoha's influence zone. Only 6 more merchants other than the group we were with was going to leave town with us.

I was able to get a typical run down merchant cart from a person who had just retired. I did it under the guise that I'm an aspiring merchant. I walk have Ino as my sister on this mission and Sensei as my father. Shikamaru and Choji will take the other cart. The last step of the plan was tricky as I had to do this silently and quickly. I had a hidden board that went right next to were the front axel went. If you looked at it from bellow, it looked like a normal connecting part. On the wall going toward the front of the front I had I shelf that you had to reach at a weird angle to get to hold the real one. I hope it holds as I didn't have much time for the door of it. The scroll is bolted to the wood so it won't fall. Coincidently it's right under where Asuma will sit.
