Chapter 50

"What is this to you?" I gestured between him and me. "You get to play super dad and occasionally frolic with me as an added advantage? Would that not be nice? I may be emotionally and sexually deprived, but I will not sacrifice my daughter's actual identity for a shot at getting laid."

His anger reached a boiling point whilst mine boiled over the pot. His face was red, his eyes were blazing hot, and a vein on his forehead was ticking.

"What the fuck is wrong with you, Debby? Do you think I am evil enough to use your daughter to get sex from you? For fuck's sake, if I wanted sex, there are plenty and eagerly willing women out there. At least they would not cost me my first company to get it."

"You bastard! You are going to put that shit on me? I begged you not to give that company to your brother, but did you hear me? And as for willing women, you can fuck whoever you want. I never asked you not to. I never asked you to be with me. And yes, I am thinking you are evil enough to use being a father figure to my daughter to get anything you want from me. This is a possession game for you. Barrel into my life and take over as if we belong to you. You have a serious saviour complex, and if your therapist has not told you, you need to get your money back from him. You are no hero, and I am no damsel in distress."

"You are saying all this just because I want to be her father? Have you not done enough wrong to Princess? You brought her into this world with so much stigmatization on her back as an illegitimate child. You want to cost her a stable home too?"

My palm cracked against his cheek before I realized what I had done.

"Fuck you, Sam. That was a low blow."

"And she results in violence again. How swell! Could you even try to be a little different from the stereotypical crazy woman? What are you going to do next? Fight me? Go ahead, but that will change nothing. I am in that little girl's life to stay. I will protect her from everyone, and that is including her violent mother. Who knows what you will do to her whilst angry?"

"What did you just say to me? Protect her from me? You are not her father." My voice reached a high octave, and he squeezed his face as if he was irritated by it or I was giving him a headache. "Her father is Martin, and I will prove it by hook or crook." I reached out and plucked his hair, but he grabbed my hand and held it hostage.

"Everyone out." He said to his bodyguards and staffs.

"Are you sure, sir? It is not advisable considering the hostile environment." Gideon replied.

"I said get out!"

His sudden change in mood startled me as they hurried out, and he squared up with me as if he was not the person behaving like a weakling a second ago. He backed me away until I was almost out of the room.

"Listen carefully, Deborah. I am not apologizing for lying to your father or wanting to make life easier for you, so drop it and settle down. Princess keeps flinching each time you scream, and I do not think she needs such negative and hostile energy around her."

Look at him acting like her actual father. I guess when you lie so much about something; you believe it is the truth.

"Check your attitude or stay away from us until you calm the fuck down and process things."

He left me standing in bewilderment and went to my daughter. He sat with her to play like I did not exist.

Wait… Did this nigga just make me the angry woman before my child? The nerve to back me away from her as if I pose any danger to her?
