Chapter 8
Murder ?
The panic voice of Clara made Ethan eyes jump in uneasy . He looked at the figure who was running towards them with frightened face and there was a blood in her right hand which made his heart skip a beat.
He immediately approached her and asked quickly
"What happened! Why is there blood in your hands?"
The survivors immediate clamored in shock and anxious seeing a bloody handed Clara in panic state.
Julia who was a cardiac specialist could clearly see the blood belongs to someone else not Clara but she was in no mind explaining things because she was slowly retreating back with pale face but no one noticed her actions.
Clara said with fearful voice
"B-Boss Kayla..... is d-dead....."
Hearing this the rest of the survivors become noisy and many people face become pale while some people become shocked by the news .
Samuel who was behind Ethan immediately came front and asked coldly
"Tell me what really happened!"
John who was one hand had a drastic change in expression while Mei frowned and Denmis had shocked face. As for Aamon was shaking in fear and had pale face hearing this.
Only Gary and Sera had change in expression . One had confusion while other had interested look in her face .
Ethan held Clara shoulder and said gently
"Relax . Take a deep breath and tell me what happened".
Due to comforting voice from her boss did she started to talk clearly but her voice was sad and fearful
"Boss when I was looking for Kayla , I went to her chamber then....then I discovered her dead body in bed .....She was stabbed by knife and the blood covered whole bed....."
Even through the survivors saw many deaths and cruel zombie apocalypse but they couldn't accept that someone died in their bunker and that is by a survivor like them !
Ethan calm face turned into ugly expression but still he urged Clara
"Take us there "
As he said he went forst without waiting for her to move . Since she died in her room the. he knew where he has to go , so he didn't wait anymore and bolted towards there.
The rest of the survivors immediate trailed behind him to Kayla room in anxious .

When Ethan entered the room , the first thing he saw was a bloody Kayla dead body and a knife stabbed at her stomach .
The blood was dripping at the edge of the bed to floor which produced hair rising sound .

Ethan frowned and his heart felt heavy seeing the lady died cruelly . The rest of the survivors appeared in the room while others just looked outside and all their face become pale but none of them screamed seeing the dead body which was normal in the apocalypse world.
But they couldn't accept that one of them died in their own bunker without any notice or warnings which made them feel uneasy and fear .
Denmis said in stuttering tone
"W-who d-did T-This ?"
The rest of them had the same question but no one knew the answer for it.
When Ethan wanted to say something a powerful yet cold voice heard from the back of the crowd.
"Move aside"
When everyone turned and looked at the person who spoke now.
"...It's Mei"
"She ? Oh I forgot she was a crime officer before so maybe she can find something !"
"I hope so"
"Yeah no one wants to stay with a unknown killer here"
".....yeah"

Mei appeared in the room and said to Ethan with the same cold tone.
"I would like to inspect the body "
Ethan didn't mind her cold words and nodded at her and he looked at Julia
"Julia .Try to find some clues "
Julia absent-mindedly nodded her head and walked forward to inspect the corpse while Mei was already wearing her gloves .
It's looks like her professional habits never left huh!
Julia and Mei were busily inspecting the room so Ethan looked at Clara and said with serious face
"When you arrived here did you saw anyone run or any strange here?"
Clara kept her head low and said with low voice after some second later
"No . I didn't saw anyone or anything strange but when I entered the room it was locked on the outside "
Ethan kept silence and looked at the other survivors behind him . Most of them had pale face but each person had different emotions.
Ethan coldly said to them
"Who did this ?"
Everyone kept quiet and turned their eye contact away from Ethan. Getting no response from them , he decided to try other method to find the culprit
"Then when did you last saw her Kayla? Did you guys see anything starnge about anyone or others?"
Some people hesitated and some people started to think about it .
John suddenly said in calm tone
"Boss I last saw Kayla arguing with Clara yesterday and I saw Clara slapping her ..."
Hearing this all of them looked at Clara in shock and doubt. Clara who had her head lowered immediately denied
"N-No it's n-not me .."
Ethan looked at her and said after some second
"Let's not jump into conclusion first. Tell me Clara why did you argue with Kayla yesterday and even slapping her?"
Clara was in panic from getting accused by others so her words were somewhat different
"Boss I didn't have any conflict with Kayla but yesterday I caught my boyfriend Denmis cheating on her with Kayla which made me furious . So I broke up with him and argued at Kayla but I only slapped her in fit of rage and went away ...I Swear I didn't kill her!"
Ethan Remembered someone saying yesterday
"Clara broke up with her boyfriend before and no one knows why"
'So thats the reason they ended the relationship ha!'
Ethan thought silently and looked at Denmis coldly
"Denmis is that true ? Is Clara telling the truth about your cheating?"
Everyone looked at Denmis in disgust and contempt . They felt Denmis was a scum to cheat behind her girlfriend back because of Kayla , a strip club teaser."
