Training 2

I awake with a feral energy. I must hunt. EXP means getting stronger, getting stronger means more EXP, and so on and so forth, It is a must do thing for us monsters and I am starting on that path. I quickly leave my small house in search of prey.

After a few short minutes of slithering through the forest I reach the inner part of the forest. I quickly scout hoping to find more of those blood sucking butterflies, those things still give me the creeps. I think it would be a service to this world if I get rid of them. Seriously who came up with that thing.

After a few minutes I can't find a single butterfly but my search was not in vain. I see a pond that is relatively close to me ripple greatly. Almost as if there was something large underneath the surface. Though I still have some lingering fear over water, I ready myself in a near bye bush in wait to ambush. But then the system sends me a notification.

<Congratulations user has leveled up Infrared Vision to LV 4>

A little moment of joy surges through my little body but is quickly quenched as a crocodile slowly steps out of the river. When I say steps I don't mean on all fours, this thing could hardly be counted as a crocodile in my book, the things bipedal. The creature moves forward making it's way through the forest, I can hear it growl spontaneously as if in hunger. Though I'm confident in my ability I'm not sure I could deal with such a large foe. This thing is even taller than the bear from earlier.

The creature seems to notice something in the distance as it turns into a sprint using it's forward leaning arms to leap towards what ever animal it was hunting. After a few minutes I can see a large bear lying on the bear slowly being gutted by the huge crocodile.

Fear grips my body as the crocodile seems to have no wounds. Though this thing is huge the gains from killing it will definitely not be small. I debate for a moment whether or not I should attack it, right when I was about to leave I noticed something. It opened it's mouth continuously to eat, eating massive amounts of bear. An idea quickly formed in my head. If it worked I'd get so many juicy gains but if it didn't I would be toast.

I pep talk myself a little as I activate Mind Boost and cast Mana Spike and aim it at it's continuously opening maw. A couple minutes pass and I see my opening I quickly launch the spike forward. Like a rocket it blasted through the air creating a whistle like effect, much faster than any other spike I created before. And the spike arrives at it's maw in seconds going directly through and the head of the crocodile. A few moment of flailing about ensues as the beast lies down on the ground in death.

I release a breath of relief at the site of the dead creature, but then start to giggle manically in my head as I received a few notifications from the system.

<Congratulations for successfully killing a Tier 4 Man Killing Crock LV: 11, you have gained 110 EXP *3000 to a grand total of 3630 EXP>

<Congratulations you have leveled up to level 9>

<Congratulations you have leveled up to level 10, you have reached the max level for your current race, please evolve to level up again.>

<You have successfully gained the Achievement Head Shot: Kill a creature by achieving a head shot with a single attack killing it instantly./ your rewards for this achievement is 4 AP.>

I lied there for about two minutes straight just laughing in my head and vibrating. What the heck was that gain. After the two minutes I look around the forest scared that an enormous crocodile was going to come out and torture me to death after giving me an "awesome" inheritance. After a few minutes I head back to base to decide what to do next after nobody showed up.

After resting for a bit and thinking about what to do, i decide to hold off evolving until I can get some progress on my quest, I at least want to get 25% completion on it and I don't know how long evolving would take, I quickly check how long I have on the mission.

<Quests>

*Exploration* Completion Rate (14%/100%) 1 weeks and 6 days remaining before time expires

Only a little under two weeks!! That is ridiculous how am I supposed to get that amount done in the time I have left. Then I remember something. The stat points I got from leveling up. I quickly check my status screen and see 8 juicy stat points just waiting there for me. In consideration for the test I dump 4 of them into agility and the other 4 into endurance. The increase of speed and power is evident, I quickly dash around the forest exploring as much as possible. A little after an hour of exploring the system gives me a notification.

<Congratulations on Leveling up the skill dash to LV 2>

This should help immensely as I dash through the forest at an insane speed. After getting about 4 percent I start to relax realizing that it shouldn't be to hard to get it to twenty. After a few more hours of exploring I once more get the peculiar sense that someones watching me. I instantly dash at full speed away and start to steal. I remember why I stopped exploring quickly, because the F***ing humans. What the heck why are they so adamant at killing snakes. After a few minutes I look back and see the same human as before, the one with no shirt and that is absolutely ripped, like holy cow that man could win an strong man competition back on earth... GET IT TOGETHER he is chasing you down to kill you. You have to focus on whats important.

A few moments of the chase and I realize my stamina is quickly plummeting. I activate Mind Boost as the world slows down, I cast the mana wall spell once more hoping he will fall for it. After I look back to see what happens he simply glances at the ethereal blue wall and jumps over it avoiding it in total a small smirk appearing on his face. DANG IT, I forgot humans where actually smart. I quickly try to get away from this maniacal beast who is still moving faster than me.

I quickly dart around some trees and find that I have moved into a foilaged area. OH CRAP, this is the True inner part of the forest with the gigantic beasts. I move forward moving faster than I ever had in my life as I move deeper into the forest the man closing in on me every second. I then get a system notification that proves that I am done for.

<Host is at a dangerously low amount of stamina, please end this fight quickly or you will die. Host is under the effect of exhausted>

NOT AGAIN. This stupid status effect stops me each time. After a few minutes my body stops responding to my commands as it slowly crawls forward. The human looks at my small body on the ground slowly moving. He is dripping in sweat as he picks me up slowly and carefully. Skillfully avoiding my fangs as I struggle to try to bite him. But once he gets a look at my face his face pales. The cocky grin on his face disappears as a look of hopelessness takes it's place.

He fall's to his knees as he drops me from his grasp and then he starts sobbing uncontrollably.

'...' What the heck is wrong with this dude I think as I look at this deranged lunatic. After awhile the man starts taking a praying position as he starts begging for something. That something I have no clue what it is as I can't even hear what he is saying do to these stupid snake ears. After I gather a little bit of stamina I flee the place in which he is kneeling. Hoping that this lunatic doesn't have second thoughts as I make it back home in a couple of hours.

The feeling of bewilderment in my mind is second to when I first reincarnated. After thinking for a while I take a long deep sleep, after I wake up I look at the completion rate of the quest

<Quests>

*Exploration* Completion Rate (28%/100%) 1 weeks and 5 days remaining before time expires

Nice, finally passed 25% at least I feel comfortable in evolving now. I slowly open up the system status and click the blaring button that says Evolve on it.

Darkness takes over my vision as the strange feeling of leaving my body takes place. An inky void appears before me, with the only thing to look at being the pale blue system screen.

*Warning blood lines could be incredibly useful or incredibly useless*

I look over the overwhelming information provided by the system in front of me. A feeling of heavy pressure appears on my metaphorical shoulders as I look at the evolution and how they would effect my future. The Mage type seems to be a continuation of my current path, while the Natural Magic path seems to take the magic I am using now and throw it out the window taking away all my hard work in the field. Though the incredible upgrades in my physical body are insane for the Natural Magic Evolution path. The bloodline path seems to be a balance between the two, offering far less stat bonuses but adding a strange ability called a bloodline, though I have seen it in the status, there hasn't been any info about it yet.

I look at the list of Items once more and pause. I have always been a man to gamble so the Bloodline path seems to be the best for me. 'Please get a good Bloodline' I shout in my head as loud as possible as I look at the system deciding the Bloodline I get.

YES IT FINALLY IS WORTH SOMETHING OTHER THAN SCREWING MY STATS OVER. I cross my "fingers" as hard as I can as the system gives me a notification that sends shivers down my incredibly long spine.

It was at this point joy overwhelmed Alex's body as he broke out in tears but a few seconds later he experienced a pain like no other.

'NOOOOO, THIS PAIN, WHY IS IT SO HORRIBLE YET SO SWEET AT THE SAME TIME'

I then passed out, waiting for the future to take hold, and my bloodline to take flight.

Sorry the chapter was a bit late. I spent a lot of time writing it. I hope you enjoyed the chapter, thank you for reading my book. Have a nice day.
