Not Giving Them His Consent (3)

The couple was passionately kissing while the elders waited for them to come down for lunch.

"You taste so sweet," Emmett said as they separated for few seconds to catch their breaths.

Jennifer bit her lips, feeling shy at the sudden compliment.

"Don't." When he noticed the confusion in her eyes, he continued, "Don't bite your lips like that or else we will have to skip our lunch and give some random excuse for our sudden loss of appetite for food because I am sure we are hungry for something else...at least I am."

Jennifer was at loss for words as she stared at him incredulously.

He was unknowingly seducing her with his words.

'Dammit. Why does he sound so sexy?'

But she didn't reply to him, instead, she leaned towards him as she kissed him.

Once again Emmett was taken aback when she took the initiative to kiss him first. A bubble of happiness erupted in his heart as he happily returned her kisses.

Finally, after a whole five minutes, the couple stopped smooching and kissing each other. They had their foreheads touching each other as they took deep breaths, filling in oxygen into their lungs.

Suddenly, a grumbling disturbed their peaceful moment.

Emmett laughed seeing her turning embarrassed at the loud sound coming from her stomach.

"Hey, don't laugh. I am just hungry. It's past my lunchtime." Her voice lowered down at the end.

Giving one last peck on her lips, he said, "Okay, let's go down now and fill your tummy."

"Hmm. But wait, let me first talk with you about something important."

"Here they are. Come down you both and have a seat." Mary smiled as she looked at Jennifer and Emmett coming down from the stairs. She and Damien were already seated at the dining table waiting for the two love birds to join them.

Damien had a grumpy face while Mary's face was full of smiles. It was after fifteen minutes the couple had come down after Mary and Damien took their seat at the dining table. Mentally Damien had cut one more point of Emmett from his ideal son-in-law's list.

When the two took their seats beside each other, Damien suddenly commented unable to look at his daughter's blushing face, "Took you long enough to come down."

Mary who was seating next to Damien elbowed him and whispered with a forced smile, "What the hell are you saying?"

"Don't mind him, kids he is just teasing you that's all."

"I certainly didn't like when my princess didn't hug me but was hugging a man when I came back home. Did she not miss me enough or does she not love me now that she got a man by her side?" Damien complained, ignoring the warning looks his wife was giving him.

Jennifer stood up from her chair as she walked to Damien and hugged him from behind.

"Who said I didn't miss you, dad? It's just that I am kind of upset with you. Why didn't you come home during your winter vacations? Did you know how much I missed you? But you decided to not come because brother insisted you to accompany him and you agreed to it that easily without even thinking about me and mother." She made a sad face and puppy eyes as Damien faced her.

She continued, "Hence I was not going to talk with you at the starting but you know I love you so much that I couldn't bear to do that for long. And now here I am hugging a jealous dad." Jennifer giggled at last as she kissed her father on his cheeks.

This instantly brought a huge smile to Damien's face and he no longer looked like a cranky jealous dad.

"I am sorry baby girl that I couldn't come home during the winter holidays. Ron did ask me to stay with him but that was to help him further in his training. If he didn't need my help at that time, I would have surely visited you and Mary."

"Okay, I forgive you dad for ignoring this cute little girl. Let's eat now, I am famished." Damien smiled at her as he nodded and beckoned her to give him one last hug.

Mary was smiling the whole time, but a certain someone's boyfriend wasn't.

Emmett was looking at the father-daughter duo who were hugging each other, with his eyes narrowed clearly displeased with their lovely interaction.

Not that he wanted her to completely ignore her father or something like that. He was that sensible, he knew that she would spend few hours of her day with her family, especially her father. It was just that from his observation he could sense that her father didn't like him and his intuitions told him that he was trying to separate her from him by taking all of her attention and acting as though she had done something wrong by ignoring him.

But he became sure when her father smirked at him when Jennifer hugged him as if challenging him with his gaze, 'See whom she loves more. It's of course me!'

He didn't know why Damien would do that. They haven't even conversed and he was already trying to separate them. But he wouldn't let that happen when he was so close to winning her heart.

If her father wanted to fight for affection, so be it. He would also show his future father-in-law that he wasn't an easy opponent.

He would win their small competition, as well as he will make sure to get consent from Damien.

They had their lunch in peace after Jennifer and Damien shared a lovely father-daughter hug.

Finally, it was time to talk to her father officially, asking for his permission in courting his daughter.

He had no plans on getting permission from her father to court her as they were already in a relationship, though it was a fake one. But Jennifer had insisted that he should at least ask for her father's permission as she knew her father wouldn't readily allow him to date her.

Her mother was quite the opposite, so there was no problem with her but her father had always been the one to keep eye on every boy who was close to her in her school and college days, without her mother knowing.

He was hard to convince, especially in this matter. If Emmett could leave a good impression on him, then it would become a lot easier for them to continue with their contracted plan. And for that Jennifer had given him a lot of pointers before they came down.

Though Jennifer had no idea that her father would not give Emmett his consent, Emmett knew for sure that Damien would make it hard for him before he would be allowed to chase his daughter.

-Both entered the arena. Emmett had his usual cold look on his face whereas Damien surprisingly looked happy, though he wasn't smiling but his eyes were twinkling as if he knew the outcome of this competition.

- A loud cheering and clapping were heard as the two heroes wielded their respective weapons. Emmett had a bow attached to his back with a sword in his hand, whereas Damien had a spear in one of his hands, while the other hand carried a long Nagaika.
