Chapter XVI

The orb that came from Silas was incredibly powerful, causing the midrybo's skin to be pulled off due to its formidable force. The group of soldiers were stunt in place from what they were witnessing with their eyes. Every layer of the skin was being removed slowly, resulting in the creature to cry in pain; begging for Silas to make his long and slow suffering to stop. Yet, Silas wasn't done. As Silas made the orb disappear, the midrybo fell to the ground, no longer suffering from the orb.

Now on the floor, the midrybo breathed heavily, almost unconscious. The orb had taken away its first layer of skin and now the second layer of skin is visible. Its wings were gone, only the bony remnants remained. As Silas approached the creature laying in its own puddle of blood, the mydribo looked at Silas like asking to end its misery, looking at him with eyes of mercy. The Egyptian monarch gave him a sadistic smile, making the midrybo feel fear like no other. Silas extends his arm halfway with his hand in an allongé style (hand poster for a ballerina) and waves up. The midrybo elevates from the ground, screeching in pain from the movement with no hope of mercy.

In its last second as it was levitating, the creature gathered all its bravery and strength from within and pulled all its might to its tail. The tail of the midrybo moved in a flash, making a huge wave of shock, any who were a few feet away stumbled back. Silas was amazed at the show of power since the creature managed to crack the transparent veneer of the protection spell. While the creature was impressive, it didn't damage Silas one bit because he managed to stop the attack with his index finger.

The counterattack that Silas did made the midrybo to screech in pain. Silas came forward and plugged his hand into the chest of the creature without difficulty and the midrybo reacted in a shock. The eyes of the creature started to roll back as Silas pulled its heart out. Now there was a medium size hole on the chest of the creature. Silas extracted something that seemed like a small beige shining crystal, which was full of imperfections, a crystal too blurry to see. It was a monster core. The core was about 5 to 9 centimeters in length with a marquise cut to it.

Phielyx and the group of soldiers looked at Silas amazed since he was able to rip the core out of the creature in view of the fact that cores are not easy to spot; more specifically, to yank it out of someone's chest. The cores would always vary in size and color depending on the creature and power. If the creature were to be powerful, the color and clarity of the core would be more vibrant, and the edges would be sharper. Yet, the man a few meters away, did it with ease.

There was one more thing Silas had to do before getting back to his master, he waved his other hand in an outward motion without losing focus. Admiring the beautiful shining beige reddish crystal on his hand, he looked at the crystal with great desire and lust. Orazen was a bit shocked from how brutal Silas was, but he was able to defeat the creature without getting hurt. That's all that matter to Orazen since he had grown fond of the handsome powerful monarch.

As the body of the creature flew in the air, Silas threw a green menacing ray that stroked the midrybo in midair and suspended its body in the air. While you could see how the core started floating on Silas's hand, the core rotated slowly. The small crest started to appear slowly in front of core. No one actually knew what Silas was doing to the core since cores were known to be useless.

A royal blue light enveloped the core in whole and elevated up away from Silas's hand. Once the crest in front of the core was apparently finish forming, the light of the core grew rapidly, leaving every who looked at it temporarily blind. Once everyone was able to see once more, they could see the core had changed. Right before, the color and shape of the core was a faint beige reddish color, but now the color and shape are different, greatly improved. The edges of the core are now sharper and more defined, along with the purity of the core which you could now see very few imperfections. The color was one of the most noticeable factors that had changed. Now the once beige color it had was replaced with a Dijon yellow with something that looked like royal blue veins coming from inside the core; adorned with a beautifully navy-blue carved crest to it.

Silas, knowing he had succeeded in his endeavor, motions his hand towards the direction of the creature. As the core traveled in a fast motion, Silas chants a few inaudible words. The skeletons that surrounded Orazen started floating in the air. In the air, the bones were separating from each other and turning to bonemeal along the process and moving towards the direction of the midrybo. As the core entered the body of the creature, the bonemeal swirled in 3 different directions revolving around the creature. Slowly, the bonemeal started to despair and so did the hole in the creature's chest.

As the midrybo's wounds started healing, it was being replaced by an obsidian black skin that seemed to suck the light of everything. As the bone seemed to enter her body, the figure of the midrybo morphed slowly and painfully. Everyone who was near were excruciating because they could hear the snap and crunching sound of bones emitted by the female. Yet, she wasn't crying or chanting in pain.

The creature was almost completely done with its transformation. The feet of the creature resembled like a long black heel boots that match her skin. The boot almost reached the knee of the creature, which had two small pointy ends on each side. As you would get higher up to the lower body, your eyes would be met with nothingness. You weren't able to see anything since the skin of the creature seem to suck the light out and with the upper part of the body having two medium size round orbs on its chest.

Apparently, the creature was a female which at first, she seemed to be naked but in a way she wasn't. Though she wasn't actually wearing anything but the boots, her body had totally morphed to one of a human with visible differences. Her fingernails were long and pointy about 5 inches long. Her face seemed to have a bit of grace to it. She was certainly not the most beautiful, however, she looked pretty enough to be a go seductress with an intimidating than presence.

On her back, she had the same wings aa before, though now they were the same color as her skin and didn't act as her arms like before. She had long gray hair, almost black, that reached her lower back. Her ears resembled the ears of an elf but longer and pointier.

As she descended, Silas got closer to meet her halfway. As she reached him, Silas grabbed her by the waist as her head nodded away from him. With his other hand, he grabbed her head and pulled it towards him. They were fairly close to each other to which Silas kissed her swiftly.

Suddenly, an unexpected change happen. Her face started turning into a different color. As Silas's lips touched her, they started changing to a low gray and white color which flowed rapidly all through her face. Once her face had changed color, he moved away from her. As he did, she stayed floating in place. Somehow, Silas seemed exhausted as if he had been running for days nonstop, out of breath.

All of a sudden, ominous, and insidious feelings permitted the surroundings. It was coming from the female creature. Her face stared changing back to obsidian black just like the rest of her body. As she opened her eyes, the aura she emitted multiplied itself by a thousand. Phielyx casted several calming spells on the soldiers and himself, while Silas had casted a protection field around Orazen. Silas seemed to be flabbergasted by the great transformation the creature had gone through.

The female looked around to see her surroundings and as her sight fell on Silas, a huge terror ran through her, and she bowed instantly. Silas grunted and waved his hand upward, making the female elevate and rapidly reach him. He looked into her eyes and reprimanded her for not noticing Orazen and paying her respects to him. She had a panic look and as Silas threw her down on the ground in front of Orazen, she bowed down to him. Silas told her to ask for forgiveness if she didn't want to die instantly. As the words came out of Silas's mouth, she trembled in fear and started asking the young half elf to forgive her.

Orazen looked at amazed at how she looked since he had never seen someone like her when he lived in Nosmirc with his family. Orazen looked at Silas with an upsetting look from how he had treated her. After the whole ordeal, Orazen asked Silas what and how he had changed the creature into a female humanoid form. Suddenly, she shot a bright red ray to the sky, hitting a black raven and making it disappear. Both Silas and the female noticed a group of individuals in front of them. Silas casted an extra protection barrier at Orazen since he could feel that there was an individual who seemed to be more powerful than the female.

The female started walking forward with both arms extended by her sides. Her hand were reliving the same vibrant red color as the ray she had shot to the raven. The group of soldiers rushed to her since they sensed an evil power coming from the one who seemed like the great monarch and the obsidian female. As the soldiers approached her, she motioned her hand like a flick and a red clear collar-like object appeared on their necks. The dark elves stopped as they noticed the red collar, however it was too late; the soldiers elevated in the air, getting chocked in the process.

Silas looked at the female and felt proud of himself from what he had accomplished while paying attention to the dark elf with an immense amount of power. As Silas walked towards the dark elf, he noticed how there seemed to be something moving inside the skin of the dark elf. Suddenly, ravens came out of its skin. As every raven came out, their claws seemed like they were replaced by a clear glass-like claw. Though some of the ravens had different color for their claws, they differ from almost every color.

As they flew toward Silas, they tried to attack him. However, they didn't do much to him since the ravens didn't hold enough power individually. Silas managed to graved one of the annoying birds. The bird seem like a normal raven, yet the claws were different. The raven's claws were a bright beautiful yellow. Silas dispelled the protection spell he had casted on himself and touched the claw with his finger. As he touched the claw, he felt an electrical serge that rushed through his body, almost making him to let go of the bird. You could see a vain popping out of his forehead while pressing his lips together in annoyance. He knew the claws would do something to harm him, but the claws shocked him.

As he got over the sudden annoyance feeling, he looked at the center of the bird's chest while recasting the magic nullification spell. Phielyx noticed Silas doing something very peculiar with one of his ravens. Silas raised his arm and with the index and the middle finger and he pierced the chest of the bird, making it disappear instantly. Silas grunted in disappointment since he wasn't able to get what he wanted.
