Chapter 55: Feel Protected

Spencer grinned. He looked half guilty, half triumphant.

"You don't need to know what I did last night. All you need to remember is that you were with me, safe, and you don't know anything else." He assured her.

She looked into his eyes for a few seconds, saw truth and trust in them, and she smiled. She felt safe and protected. It was such a good feeling.

Even if it's just for a short while, it's beautiful, to feel protected.

Then she remembered something, and again she blushed, "Did we, er... did we?" she muttered and couldn't manage to utter the two words.

He embraced her and said assertively, "Don't worry. I'm a responsible man."

It was lunchtime. There was excitement in the air in the offices of the Davidson Group.

The staff was about to leave for lunch when someone shouted, "Hey, check this out. This is shocking."

Before long, a group gathered in front of the screen.

Everyone dropped their jaw, appalled.

"No way!"

"My God! This is big."
