Driving A Blade Through His Heart

She felt the trickles of unbearable pain rush down her worn-out body as the spirit of consciousness slowly resurfaced back to her bones.

Her entire body felt as though she was on a bed of nails which poked her in every single inch of her body. As she tried to open her eyes, she also made sure that she felt every part of her body.

When her jade orbs finally revealed their hidden beauty, she wasn't really surprised to find herself in unfamiliar surroundings.

Her eyes first met the white-painted ceiling before she diverted her gaze to every content in the humongous room which seemed to be dressed in pure luxury.

The room was obviously for a royal figure, that wasn't hard to depict from the beauty, luxury, and quality of the pieces of furniture. The gold which was used to adorn the room was shining as bright as the moon outside.

Tashina slowly rose and sat up straight as she rested her pounding head by the head of the bed. She looked down on her body and again wasn't surprised to find nearly half of it covered in bandages.

Unable to hold her burning curiosity inside, she stood up from the bed even though every fiber of her bone protested against the action.

She took baby steps as she walked towards the window, she opened it and was instantly hit with the harsh breeze from outside but instead of being frizzled by the breeze, she openly accepted it to blow away sore of her pain, alongside the ache in her heart.

She looked down the window and was marveled at the thousands of werewolves standing outside, all eyes directed in a single direction. Tashina was quick to follow the trail of their gaze and it landed at none other than him.

Mr. Xavier,

The Alpha of North-Eastern Pack.

Her puckered face roared into a deep pit of red as her blood rushed into her countenance by looking at him. Her body, although wearied out, still managed to shake from the pure emotion of rage.

She couldn't hear what he was saying due to the far distance but her guess wasn't far from the truth. She then turned back and looked at the room in momentous disgust as she had the sudden urge to tear off the clothes on her body because she knew whom it belonged to.

When she glared back outside, the figure that was addressing the crowd was no longer to be seen and her guard quickly came up and she wondered where he had gone to.

Her question was quickly answered when she felt a familiar buzz of energy inside her from an approaching figure.

So Tashina did the first thing that entered her head, she quickly rummaged the room for any weapon and grinned devilishly in success when she found a small dagger hidden in the nightstand.

She was going to kill the Alpha,

But it was easier said than done.

She quickly went back to the bed and tried as much as possible to lay completely still before she heard the incoming footsteps and the click of the door.

The Princess was virtually successful at keeping her raving emotions at bay when she felt his whole aura flicker through her body and suddenly this huge room became too small to breathe.

She heard his gentle footsteps walking up to the bed and the dip in the bed when he sat down close to her. His delicate fingers lovingly caressed her hair which was spread out and for a moment, she nearly leaned into his touch.

No matter how much she tried, it was impossible for her to resist his touch and the bond that was securely tied between them grew bigger day by day.

But no,

Not anymore,

She was going to put an end to this charade once and for all.

Even if that means taking the life of the only male she truly cared for...

Her resolve drove her to stand up when she heard him move to the window and shut it. She took out the silver dagger that was buried in her palm and quickly set it out at the base of his neck when he turned around.

Time froze into nothing when he looked up and his steel blue orbs met with her jade-green ones. They completely contrasted to each other yet fit so well as a piece of the puzzle.

The shock, awe, and relief that danced majestically in his eyes failed to mirror hers that was filled with pain, hurt, and most of all, anger.

His feet felt numb as he saw and felt her rage. He was about to reach out to her when he realized that a blade which was held out by her was on his neck.

It was like deja vu, just like the first time she woke up in his tower.

He looked at the blade in confusion and then back at the wielder of the weapon.

"Ta..." He was shut up when she presses the blade deeper into his skin.

"You lied to me" the cold, sharp tone she used in a strangled voice tore his heart even deeper than the blade in his neck.

"You lied" she scorned menacingly at him.

"I-it's not what you think" he stumbled on his words.

"You lied to me. You saving me from the mountains, you taking care of me, you laughing with me, you being a kind werewolf. Everything was a lie" she raised her voice.

"It's not like that" the desperate plea that was hidden in his tone went unnoticed by Tashina. Even if she did notice it, it was nothing to her at this point.

"Then what is it like? Tell me, I asked you who you were, I repeatedly tried to know about you because it was all too good to be true. A werewolf saving a vampire? That never happens, not even in fairytales.

"You said you worked for the people and that was it. I was suspicious but I let it go because I believed that no matter who you were, you were a nice person. But no, I was wrong" she glared at him.

Xavier's heart began to fall as he saw the way she stared at him, the manner in which she talked to him, and the tone she used.

This wasn't the Tashina he knew, this wasn't his vampire.

"I didn't have the chance to-" he unconsciously cringed at the harsh tone she used to cut him off.

"No chance?!!" she scoffed.

"You had plenty of chances. We were in the same room for five days, five freaking days. There was always a chance, you had millions of chances to tell me who you are but you didn't because you didn't want to" She pointed her finger at him and that single action was too painful for him to watch that he closed his eyes in despair.

"Tell me, why did you save me from the mountains? Why did you bring me into your home? Why did you pretend to be who you're not? Why?!! Did you have fun watching me relying on you? Did you derive pleasure when you saw a helpless and weak vampire? Is that why you did this? To get some fun and then kill me when you were done?" Tashina didn't notice the tears in her eyes until one single drop escaped from her eyes.

"What? No. What are you talking about? That wasn't it" Xavier insisted.

"Then tell me, what was your agenda behind keeping me in the tower? I told you this morning what I was sent down here to do. I told you that I was ordered to kill the Alpha of this Pack, yet you still lied. You should have told me who the Alpha was-"

"Then what?" Xavier roughly asked.

"What?"

"Then what would you have done? Kill me? Kill me just to prove your worth to the throne?" He roared out venomously.

Tashina was cut off guard by his question but still, her gaze was spitting out fire.

"Yes. Without a doubt, I would have taken your life and went back to my kingdom" she gritted and shook off the gut that fell to her stomach when she uttered those words.

Xavier remained shocked at her words but he was quick to recover and say,

"Oh yeah? Then what are you waiting for? You want to kill me? Come on, this is the perfect chance to do so," he grabbed her hand with the dagger and brought it towards his heart.

"You want to take my head to your kingdom? Do it. Come on, kill me" he spat as he watched the way she squirmed under his hand.

"Take my life, Tashina and I promise, I won't stop you" he assured with a bitter smile.

She kept her blazing green eyes steady on him and without a second thought, she drove the dagger straight into his heart.
