Konrard stayed out of his room for a while and entered only when Brielle called out for him. She felt sorry that she had somehow forced him out of his own room. But Konrard didn’t mind at all, and was actually thankful for the time he could spend outside to get some fresh air.
Brielle sat on the edge of his bed and watched him grab a book from his bookshelves. It was quite intriguing how he was so calm around her despite knowing she was his Fated Mate. Taking courage, she decided to ask.
“Why are you so calm?”
“Hm?”
“You are so calm despite the two of us being in the same room,” Brielle pointed out, “I could barely contain my heart from bursting out of my chest, and here you are, reading a book three feet away from me who is on your bed, wearing the clothes you own.”
Putting the book down, Konrard raised his eyes to her level and sighed, “It’s not as easy as it seems.”
Tilting her head in curiosity, Brielle said, “Do tell.”
