Lanie bit her lower lip out of embarrassment. He just got the serving spoon, Lanie! Why are you acting like he was about to hug or kiss you?! Get yourself together, Lanie!
She stood properly to compose herself before turning back to the table. Tyler hid his smirk when she saw that she was flustered. He began to get fried rice then bacon, he was about to start eating however Lanie retained looking at her plate. What now, Kitten? Tyler sighed and put down his spin and fork. He looks at her, observing her action.
"U-uhm…" Lanie trailed off with a soft and shy voice. "A-about last night, I'm so sorry. I really can't recall what happened-" She stopped when she heard a creak sound. She looked up yet as soon as she looked at Tyler, he moved the chair she was sitting on and made it face him. He was squatting in front of her with his right hand at the back of the chair and his left hand at the edge of the table, again, cornering her. She held her breath, he was too close again to her.
"Hmmm, what is it, again?" He said in a gentle but mocking tone. Lanie looked at her hands that were in her thighs. "I'm asking you, Kitten. Look at me." using his pointing finger, she held her chin for her to look at him. He saw uneasiness in her eyes. She was also blushing. This girl was too easy to blush.
"I… I don't think it is right for me to eat here after bothering you last night. I am really sorry! I didn't really know what my behaviors were last night! That was my first time to be that… drunk." She confessed. Tyler was only looking at her while she was looking everywhere just to avoid his eye contact. Lanie was too nervous not only because she doesn't remember what exactly happened last night but also because when Tyler was near, her heart beat wild… a beat that she doesn't familiar with, a beat that her heart makes only for Tyler and she was scared to know what that beats are for… she is always scared.
"Let's eat breakfast first, okay? We will talk about that after." Tyler removed her hold to Lanie and stood up. "Now, eat before I lose my patience and do something that you wouldn't like." He said before going back to his seat. Lanie silently followed him, she adjusted her seat to bring it back to its original position. Tyler served her breakfast and again, there were those heartbeats again.
"L-let me. I can manage." She said in a small voice and got the plate with hotdogs from Tyler's hands. Before, when Jake did these things to her, it felt normal to her but with Tyler, she can't explain what this feeling she was feeling. There is something in Tyler that makes her uneasy and nervous whenever he is near or around her… she can't really describe what it really is… or maybe, she already knew but she just kept denying it to herself.
They quietly eat breakfast, she did not dare to glance at Tyler's direction. It was not like she didn't want to but she chose not to because she was still embarrassed about how she always reacted when it came to Tyler. This guy… will make her lose her mind.
After they finished eating their breakfast, Lanie volunteered to wash the dishes since Tyler already cooked their food. Tyler just left what she wanted and he just went to his room to get his laptop then he went to the living room and did his work. Even if today is Saturday, there are so many things he needs to do. When he sat down on his sofa and peeked at Lanie who was currently washing the dishes. Lanie's back was facing Tyler. He watched her small moves from her almost dry her, to his hoodie that was so big to her then, to her legs. Tyler shook his head to erase the thoughts that suddenly popped up on his mind while watching Lanie. Her doing house chores while wearing his clothes… was really something.
After Lanie finished washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen, she remembered the fruits on the counter table that are already ripe. She got the two apples and prepared them. She went to where Tyler is and there, she saw him seriously looking in his laptop. She put down the bowl that contains chopped apples beside his laptop. Tyler looked at her with his furrowed brows.
"O-oh, I just noticed that your fruits are already ripe so uhm, I prepared it to eat so it is not a waste." she awkwardly said. She knew that this was not her house but she doesn't like wasting food. Tyler just nodded and looked at his laptop again. Then, silence emerged.
Lanie decided to get her bag from Tyler's room to check her phone. She was shocked that there were so many texts and missed calls from Althea, Penelope and Mark but there was only one message that caught her attention. That message was from Jake. She was about to open the message but Tyler suddenly appeared in front of her.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing." she answered, still looking at Jake's message at her inbox. There was something in her that didn't want to open the message but a part of her wanted to open it. Tyler noticed her hesitation to click Jake's message from her phone. He saw it because Lanie was staring at it too much.
"Come on. I'll make you remember what happened last night." He seriously said, causing Lanie's attention to move to him.
