Stomp

Stomp

Heavy footsteps sounded just a short distance away from her and Rowena felt her heart beating hard. Sweat trickled down her brow, blurring her vision and making her even more scared.

A familiar buff of breath sounded out and Rowena started counting to ten. Though she had sent out an SOS, she wasn't sure if help would arrive on time. She readied herself to attack. Reaching for a lamp, she waited with baited breath, hoping that whatever it was would not break in. But, humans propose and the gods oppose. The door clicked open and she trembled. Just as the beast came into view, her arm flew through the air with all its might. The lamp collided with its nose causing it to let out a high pitched scream. The creature backed away from the lamp, holding its nose and shaking with pain. Rowena didn't think twice about running for cover.
