Part 3 (3)

The night was about to fall in Mankayane when Paddy woke up from his nap.

He looked to his right side and saw that his wife Pola had left the bed and wasn't in the room.

He slightly lifted his head to peep in the crib of his son Churchill Junior and the toddler was neither there. The latter had also already gone out of the chamber with his puppy Chuwi.

The landlord felt a little bit embarrassed that he was all by himself in the room, for he thought he was a sleepyhead.

He glanced to his right and witnessed through the open window the sun setting down.

"Oh my goodness, it's 6 pm already!" He exclaimed.

The baron then quickly got off the bed and rushed to the bathroom where he took a bubble shower before nicely dressing up in an all-black Sharkskin suit with gray Oxford shoes.

Set, the now fifty-five-year-old British landlord left his private apartments and went downstairs.

He found the Mistress of the house in the parlor watching her favorite sitcom "The Nokwanda", a film series about a poor Swazi family who went from scratch to the top to be the most influential household in the country.

The baron sat next to her, grabbed her by the left shoulder, and kissed her on the temple.

Pola was so immersed in the comedy show that was being played on the black and white tiny screen in front of her that she found it so difficult to lay her eyes off the TV and give her husband Paddy the affection he was waiting for from her.

Fortunately for the Mistress of the house, over their now twenty-five years of marriage, the baron had always been very tolerant and patient.

He had learned to let his wife alone during her moments of trance with novellas and would often watch them with her though he wasn't always enjoying them.

He liked some of them but despised most of the sitcoms. The landlord was more into the news regarding the British royals and especially Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

For he was now spending most of the year in Swaziland, he had very often the nostalgia of Great Britain.

The baron would sometimes recount to his heir Churchill Junior for night tales his childhood in the streets of London or in the kitchen of his grandmother Suzanne who made to him the best-smoked garlic sausage in the world.

Suddenly, a maid came from outside extremely agitated, causing Mrs. Pola and the Master of the domain Mr. Paddy to stop watching the sitcom.

She asked them to hastily step into the main yard, for something bad had happened to the kid.

In a panic, the parents ran outside to check what the matter with their unique child was.

They found Churchill Junior sitting upright on the yard's lawn holding his extended left leg which was bleeding.

The toddler had been bitten. However, what was even more troubling was that the author of the ill act was the puppy Chuwi.

Mrs. Pola asked the moaning kid how in the world the incident occurred while commanding the maid to bring her the medical kit in the parlor's cupboard.

Despite the pain, Churchill Junior managed to explain to his parents how he got bitten.

As the maid rushed back with the first aid material, the toddler described to his mom and dad how the Caniche suddenly became uncontrollable while they were playing.

At first, he believed the pet was just a little bit too excited but the excitement grew up and the animal became aggressive.

Ultimately, without any wrongdoing from him, Churchill Junior told his genitors that the dog came up to his leg and bit him before running away.

Its whereabouts were unknown. The puppy was lurking somewhere in the domain and with the obscurity, it was hard to spot its hideout.

As the toddler was done giving the account of the incident, Mr. Paddy who was very upset, called on all the employees of the manor house to find the dog and bring it to him.

Mrs. Pola finished the first care and ordered that they called the driver, for she was taking the bleeding kid to the Mankayane dispensary.
