Am I Infected?

Gebo: "Well, that is my experience with Herrah. After that, I was only a guard that stood outside her house, it's truly a shame how they downgraded her into a sex toy. I hate people that decay other's potential."

Excursion: "What?"

Gebo: "Her husband and the council revoked her of her rank and made it so that she would be limited to a wife and nothing else."

Excursion: "That sucks."

Gebo: "Well, I hope you complete your goal of exploring."

Excursion: "Actually… I was going t- you know what, never mind."

Gebo: "Hmm?"

Excursion: "Well, I believe I've been here for too long. I hope Hornet isn't up, so she isn't in the house alone."

I said as I started to walk away, I made my way back to my home. It was eerily silent, there was no crawling or movement and the only sound was the tapping of my feet. 'Maybe everyone went to sleep?' I instantly discarded the thought, everyone going to sleep at the same time? What are the chances of that happening.

'I better get to Hornet, she needs me to protect her.' I moved a little faster, I arrived in front of my door and opened it. Everything was silent, I moved around like a thief. My footsteps could not be heard by anyone, I saw Hornet peacefully resting in my bed.

Excursion: "That's good, maybe I was worrying too much?"

The floor bent as I left the house again, why did I think that she would need protection? I guess I'm getting paranoid now, walking outside the house again I heard the slushing of water. Walls of water slammed against the stone walls, I looked at the black water.

'What can I do for Deepnest? Right now, there is nothing wrong with it, other than the citizens eating other insects. I should probably see our forces, I doubt that Deepnest is weak, but I still need to check. Now where do I look for the army?'

I looked around for a Weaver to tell me where the army is placed, I stepped in a slimy orange puddle, I raised my foot and shook it off. I need to find someone to clean all of this up, I'm fine with the webs, but come on.

Excursion: "Can someone come over here!!"

I screamed loudly as my voice vibrated, silence was all I received, though. My footsteps grew louder and louder, I walked past a dark cave that seemed to peer into darkness itself. I sat down on the ground, and placed my hand on my head.

'Maybe I should just chill out for once, I think all this fighting and death is doing something to me… Though, why was there a puddle of orange, I feel like I should investigate that.' Standing up, I started to walk while staring at the ground, the puddle that I saw before did not appear again.

I had a feeling in my gut, like something was happening, and I feel the need to be there. Like there is a threat that I need to fight right now, but it's probably just me. I ended back at the cave, I walked into it as darkness consumed everything around me.

I could hear some slushing and growling sounds coming from deep within the cave, I walked faster and faster with my blade grinding against the rough ground. Sparks flew out of the iron and quickly became nothing, adrenaline started to rush through my body.

But there was nothing, not a speck of dust nor water, only the hard wall that laid without movement. I looked at the wall like a man with no mind, I swore that I heard something. It was slushing like water, or growling from a massive beast.

'There was something there, I am NOT going insane. But what if I am? What if the Radiance is taken hold of me without me even knowing it what if I am already infected, but it is only becoming visible at this moment.' I paused before realizing that I've been staring at the wall, walked up to the wall and put my hand on the wall feeling its tough and rocky surface.

'The thing that scares me the most is that if I'm actually infected, I would not even know how to break out of it. I should keep this for later, I feel like each second I think about this it just gets worse and worse.' I peeled my hand away from the wall, and as I moved forward the thoughts of me being possibly infected continued to plague my mind.

After exiting the cave I looked to both of my sides, there were two paths one leading back to my home and the other leading to some place that I haven't been too yet. I was feeling a bit adventurous, and I was also in need of a long walk.

What I failed to notice was that behind me there was a tall being at least the height of a bus, its arms were long enough to touch the ground. On its face there were holes where eyes were supposed to be. This entity slushed and growled as it split into two orange blobs and sank into the ground.

I walked through the pathway with questions floating in my head, I saw that the walls started to get covered with bright shrubs and colorful flowers. The shrubs looked like a fluffy floor mat that had sprinkles sprayed on it, the light that entered made it all more beautiful.

I looked up and saw a massive hole leading upwards, the bright light made me feel a bit weird. Seeing the light made me think of the Radiance, and some good memories of my old life when I ran with the sun shining on my face. I don't know how to feel about light anymore.

In front of me there was a giant wall that was stained red, on the side there were a bunch of corpses. Stabs and slices were all over their bodies, dried blood stained the group none of them were alive. This door would lead into the Mantis Lord's arena, I had already fought them before.

But if I came back there I would most likely be killed with no remorse since I am the lord of Deepnest, unless they don't know I'm the lord yet.
