[81 - Cracks in the Facade]
After having a hearty dinner, Elijah went back to the guestroom to freshen up and have a relaxing shower before going to bed while Seraphina cleaned the dishes in the kitchen. As Elijah did not have spare clothes to wear so he picked up his cell phone to call back home and get someone deliver his clothes to Seraphina's place.
As Elijah unlocked his cell phone, he noticed the multiple missed calls from the same police officer that he had been in contact with for Seraphina's case. Lines of worry creased his forehead as he wondered what must have been so urgent and important that the officer called him so many times.
He was about to call him back but stopped when noticed that the officer had sent him a message. Elijah dreaded opening it but did so nonetheless. The message that he had received caused panic to flood into his veins and fear to grip his heart in its painfully tight, poisonous hold.
