Chapter 19: Assassins (2)

The lycan humanoid beast stood in front of Nehora with the three assassins beside as they backed away slowly from it. Nehora just stood there unfazed by the beast which stared at her with bloodthirsty eyes.

'He's a big one and this is my first time seeing a lycan in this form. They are so much different from a werewolf which stands on its four paws. Fascinating...' Nehora thought as she looked at the beast.

'How l wish l can reveal myself like him, Rosa. It would have been fun to ripe him into shreds with my canines. However, we can't so just use one of our abilities to kill him instantly and the others as well and we create enough commotion.' Hestia uttered as told Nehora.

During their fighting, they have caused enough ruckus that could direct attention towards them.

The beast finally made its move as leaped towards Nehora with its five claws revealed to rip her apart, an overkill! As it was in the air, Nehora closed her eyes for a second and opened them once again.

This time, her eyes glowed dimly as she stared at the beast, directly on the eyes. As the beast looked deeply in her eyes, it was as if it looked at the dark abyss filled with flames.

It felt its very inner self, soul, in that abyss, painfully burning until turning into nothingness, disappearing forever. In reality, his body fell limply beside Nehora's feet, dead just like that.

This OP skill is called The Flaming Abyss. Nehora has to first look in the eyes of any target who will be captivated.

The target's soul will be trapped in the dark abyss filled with the undying flames and will proceed to be burnt into nothingness. It lasts for a few seconds, but the target will feel like it has lasted for hours in the abyss.

The target will feel pain like never before since his/her soul is being burnt into nothingness and the soul would not face the afterlife as his/her soul has disappear forever. This skill is deadly as your fate will be sealed with one look in the eyes.

The three assassins stared at the dead body lying on Nehora's feet with frightened eyes and then stared at Nehora who glared with killing intent. They flinched looking at those eyes.

With flashy, fast speed which couldn't be seen with the naked eye, Nehora then proceeded to sprint towards them, killing them off with a deep slash on their chest. They all fell to the dirty ground, dead.

She withdrew her bloody claws with a calm expression.

"It seems l was not even needed."

Nehora putted her guard up as she had a male voice behind her. She turned around with her sharp claws revealed once again, but she calmed down seeing who the male voice belonged to and it was other than-

"Oh, it you...my dear mate. l didn't have the time to sense you through the matebond as you can see-*with her arms extended to show the aftermath of the fight*...l was busy." Nehora uttered as she looked at Alaric who wore the black and gold royal uniform with badges on it, which complimented his amber eyes and black hair.

Alaric just stared at her for a moment before closing his eyes and sighing, shaking his head,"l sensed you were in danger through the matebond and wanted to assist you."

"And you weren't needed, mate. As you can see, l am completely fine so you don't have to worry. You may go." Nehora uttered now walking beside him, patting his shoulder and she walked off into the night, leaving him behind.

*10 minutes ago*In the castle*

Alaric was in his office, working on some paperwork with Adelda there as well, sitting on one of the chair near the door meant for guest.

She walked up to Alaric, heels clacking as she did so,"Can you stop working for a moment and relax?" she said worryingly as she kissed his cheek. He has been working for hours.

Alaric sighed as he looked at Adelda with loving eyes,"Why don't you message my shoulders then?" he uttered as he kissed her.

Adelda nodded with a happy smile as she messaged his shoulders from behind as he relaxed.

Suddenly, he tensed, surprising Adelda as he sensed through the matebond Nehora was in danger. Eventhough, it was fade and weak because they never even tried to strengthen it, he still felt.

Alaric stood up, walking to the door," Alaric, love. What's wrong?! What's going on?" Adelda uttered shocked by Alaric, but instead of answering her.

He opened the door before disappearing in the blink of an eye using his ability, super speed.

Adelda gnashed her teeth in anger as Alaric disappeared but she calmed down, inhaling and exhaling.

Adelda turned cold,"It's finally put to action..." she uttered, but unbeknownst to her, the Royal beta, Mark hid near the door and heard what she said.

He was there to report the progress of the troops and held paperworks for Alaric.

Mark's face darkened and he quickly turned around going back where he came from. He always had his suspicions of her for years now, but kept it to himself.

Nehora walked through the streets of the capital and the night was alive.

Passing stores, she stopped at a particular run down clothing store which was closed. It sold beautiful dresses of all kind and other types of clothes.

Nehora didn't know the reason but she felt drawn towards the store which was in bad condition on top of that, but she shrugged it off as she walked going to the castle.

What she didn't know was that, the store belonged to Judis's parents, Adelda's mate she murdered without second thought and regretted later.

After long minutes, she reached the castle' doors, filled with a tint of happiness. Nehora now knows her room is and was not lost this time.

On her way, she saw Adelda heading to her direction, descending on the stairs to the exit. Nehora stood near the entrance/exit as Adelda's eyes were wide in shock. Nehora's tint of happiness vanished as she saw her.

"Yo..y..you..." Adelda stuttered as her eyes were still wide.

"Good evening, Miss. Were you not expecting me?" Nehora uttered sternly as she glared at Adelda coldly with a fake smile.
