Was he possessed?

"Assistant Lin, why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at work? What happened? Is there something wrong?" Shen Mei seriously asked Assistant Lin.

Assistant Lin looked at Shen Mei with amusement. This girl was quite chatty and too casual with her words, but listening to her was soothing. Her melodic voice was pleasant. Even if she talked the whole day, he wouldn't get irritated.

Shen Mei looked at Assistant Lin's smiling face and suddenly thought that she might have talked a little too much.

"I'm sorry."

"There is no need to apologize, Miss Shen. While we were on our way, we encountered a little problem... But everything is fine now. We were about to leave."

"Oh, okay then. I'll take my leave." Shen Mei made a small bow and then continued to walk. Instead of continuing with booking a taxi, she was thinking about Assistant Lin. She now had the energy to walk. Assistant Lin's handsomeness must have rejuvenated her.

Assistant Lin looked at Shen Mei's walking figure, and a smile crept into his handsome face. This girl was quite interesting. She might not have noticed, but he was already there when she walked out of the house. He saw everything; how she was stomping her feet, pulling her hair and changing expressions as if there was something troubling her...she looked...she looked kinda cute.

Assistant Lin chuckled again and opened the back door of the car, and the expression on his face changed as he looked the person sitting on the back seat.

"Move."

Assistant Lin only uttered one word, and the person broke out in cold sweat and quickly got out of the car, then went to the driver's seat. Assistant Lin then slowly got in the car and calmly sat at the backseat and closed his eyes. The driver stole glances at assistant Lin. He was quite shocked by Assistant Lin's behavior today.

They were supposed to go together to fetch the file, but as soon as Assistant Lin saw Miss Shen come out of the house, he decided to go alone. What was even more surprising was the number of times Assistant Lin smiled in front of Miss Shen. When has Assistant Lin ever shown his godly smile to anyone? He never smiled even to his own parents, but here he was throwing a series of million dollar smiles at Miss Shen. What in the world was happening? Was Assistant Lin possessed?

The driver couldn't help but rub his temples as he thought about it.

"I think you don't need your job anymore." A cold voice resounded behind the driver.

"I'm sorry..." The driver quickly said as he started the car and drove away. As he was driving, he passed Miss Shen, who was slowly walking on the sidewalk. He heard the cold voice speak to him again.

"Heartless people deserve to be fired."

The driver contemplated as to what assistant Lin meant with his words. As soon as he figured it out, he choked on his saliva and abruptly stopped the car with a screech. Assistant Lin was really possessed! The demon that possessed him was really diligent today!

The driver reversed the car and stopped beside Shen Mei. Shen Mei was quite surprised. What was happening now?

The back window rolled down slowly and a handsome face came to Shen Mei's sight.

"Miss Shen. Where are you heading? The driver would kindly like to offer you a lift." Assistant Lin did not forget to advertise his precious smile.

"No no no... I don't want to trouble you Assistant Lin. We might not be going the same way." Shen Mei politely declined as she also smiled.

"Tell me where you are heading to first then I'll tell you if it's in the way or not."

"Oh... okay... I'm going to the mall.. but I don't want to trouble you guys. I'm..."

"It's on the way. Get in."

Shen Mei was cut off by Assistant Lin. The driver then violently coughed. Both Assistant Lin and Shen Mei looked at the driver.

"Are you okay?" Shen Mei asked with concern.

Assistant Lin shot daggers at the driver as he looked at him and the driver stopped coughing.

"I'm okay Miss. No need to worry. Please get in."

"Sorry for troubling you." Shen Mei looked troubled but in her heart she was elated. Such a good thing happened to her? She got transport without spending a single cent. She would use the money to buy extra delicious food later.

Shen Mei got in the car and sat beside assistant Lin. She felt a little bit uncomfortable. She then saw assistant Lin pull out a book. The book looked kind of familiar. It had a brownish cover and small golden words were written at the bottom left of the cover. It looked like the book she once read that was about the business world and politics. She couldn't help but blurt out,

"Assistant Lin, what is the title of the book you're holding?"

"Ah, this... it's The golden secret."

"Oh..." Shen Mei replied with familiarity. She was curious as to why the book was called The Golden secret when it was about business and politics. Did it tell the secrets of the business world? So she decided to read it. She might not have had the time to deal with anything else but she did have the time to read. It was safe to say she was a bookworm... or a novel worm?

"Miss Shen, have you read this book before?" Assistant Lin glanced at Shen Mei with some surprise on his face. This book was written a long time ago and many people hated it because it was complex and very hard to understand. One had to be very intelligent to understand it. Of course, he, Assistant Lin, was very intelligent. That is why he found the book to be interesting.

"Yes, I read it some time ago."

Assistant Lin was very amused. Now he found Miss Shen to be even more interesting. He initiated a conversation about the book and Shen Mei was able to converse with him. She was very enthusiastic about it that she forgot about the discomfort she felt before.

As the driver stole glances at them and saw them engrossed in their conversation, he felt like he was dreaming. Looking at this situation, If someone suddenly told him that a cow gave birth to a human, he would believe it.
